Xda Exec for sale

I am looking at putting my exec up for sale, but the screen has been cracked not from a fall but it just broke.
How much do you think i could get for it?

Is it boxed / complete? Last one I bought like that on ebay I paid £135 for. It was a jasjar not an exec though

have you tried ringing up htc liverpool?
go to www.htceurope.com and get their phone number and ask how much it would be to put a newlcd in. cant be that much surely, better than taking a huge monetary drop
if all fails, ill give you a tenner for it matey, jokes aside please find out how much it would be, you might be surprised

HTC won't repair XDA devices only orange and t-mob branded units - if you read liverpool's previous thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=40201&highlight=

Fluffcat; It is boxed everything there, 2 extra protective cases one of which is a hard case not a leather one and also screen protector.
I have already rang htc europe and they were no help. But i dont understand how the screen cracked it was in its leather case and didnt fall, took it out of my pocket and it was cracked.
But if anyone wants to make an offer ill think about it.

Have you tried PPCTechs for a screen replacement? they seem to do it for 249 dollars

You could try sending it to a mate via royal mail, insure it for whatever value it will cost to replace, if the screen breaks on route it will be covered. Oh, sorry, just reread your post, didn't realise it was already broke :wink:

Cost of a new screen?

Ok How's this for a first post? Some moron managed to knock my 2 week old wizard off the desk while it was charging at work (so not in its case) and has cause a small chip in the screen (screen still works perfectly - just the outter touch panel is damaged). Since no one is owning up to doing it - and my short-sightedness in not taking out insurance on such an expensive phone, I wondered if anyone had any Idea how much T-Mobile would charge to fix this?
I'm assuming it is too late to take out insurance now, so I'm gonna have to shell out for the repair one way or the other - just wondered how much this will set me back.....
Any ideas? Cheers Guys

Your house hold insurance should cover it. Either that or take out phone insurance and claim in a few months.

I am not sure about T-Mobile, but o2 let you take insurance out in the first 2 weeks. Look on the web and if you are too late give them a call..... ask them when you will be billed for the insurance as you cant see it on your first bill and you did ask for it when you bought the phone.
Failing that there are may 3rd party companies that will insure phones/pda's/laptops, google for it and give them a call......

[email protected]! what an unhelpful post! They are available on ebay for around £120, easy to fit, just be careful the part you buy matches the part number of the original screen - some sellers say the magician screen fits, my supplier says it doesn't.

Thanks for all your help guys - I did try calling T-Mobile about insurance saying that I though I'd selected it when I bought it online, but they wouldn't budge on letting me insure it after 2 weeks and sounded pretty sceptical from the start :?
I contacted HTC directly and they're quoting £94 to replace the screen and for shipping both ways which I guess is fairly reasonable - especially after the great suggestion of buying a new one at £200+
Just thought I'd update you incase anyone else is as unfortunate as I was.
Not sure if I'm allowed to post contact details for HTC on here - so anyone needing to contact them, just PM me.

That's actually very reasonable considering your warranty remains intact as well. Cheapest price online is now about £95 for the screen alone! HTC will only deal with t-mob/orange branded items from experence though.

anyone know where I can get replacement parts 4 my MDA in the US. sorri to hijack the post but I figure since u are already on the topic of replacment parts I would give it a shot.

I cracked my touchscreen as well. If I can get the part, I think I can do the replacement myself. Anyone know where to get one?

This could be due to many reasons. Dead battery seems top of the list, then bad flash, then broken unit.
I'd wonder how much to pay for the extra batteries (always a good thing), the PDair case (I wouldn't be without mine), the other cases and holders and some spare parts that just might be a Universal if you fiddle a bit. $28+shipping isn't a lot, is it?

It's nice to see people read "the small print". This was my unit. Nothing is wrong with it. I've flashed it with the imate ROM, QTek AKU2.0 ROM and even the UK T-Mobile ROM. Do a search for my name under the universal forum. I'm selling my jasjar because it didn't fit my needs. The unit is in excellent shape. I always used a screen protector. I would guarentee it against DOA, but I'm using the local "iSold-It!" store to list my item. It's THEIR policy to sell items "as is" (not mine). Also, their policy is to start all auctions (no matter what the real cost is) at $9.99. BTW, it was re-flashed back to the imate AKU2.0 ROM.

Want to buy good condition Wizard

My beloved MDA dropped today...it still works, BUT, the usb port is loose, and Assurion doesn't have any to swap out under insurance...they offered me the Wing (gag me!). I am seeking a working Wizard with a solid usb port...locked or unlocked (hello lokiwiz)...
I will not respond to "you can have mine for $300"...I can get one on ebay for $160 or less.

Y not take Wing?
It is the same thing as MDA but just thiner. Oh well - tastes are different, although I have Like New MDA that I am using currently and not really want to move on cuz it works for me at this moment. If it happens I hear from some1 that wants to sell, I'll pass that onto you.
Anyway - I wouldn't recommend eBay to anyone when it comes to buying MDA. Friend of mine bought 1 - supposedly refurbished perfect cosmetic condition and received BEATER!!! Scratches all over the phone, screen damage, opens on its own - I mean he was looking to get the deal and got bad beater phone. Later on he got brand new Wing from Tmobile.
MDA story was completed by seller not responding to his e-mails and he filled with paypal a dispute so he got the money back and never sent the phone back to the seller. He sold the phone as is on the ebay for 170$ ... with all the explanations and everything...

I bought mine on ebay and is LIKE NEW (Or even new!)
It depends on who you buy the products.. There are many sellers and many are legit!

If you go through eBay, just avoid "rob3474." I got a Qtek 9100 from him that was supposed to be "like new." Suffice to say, it has a lot of wear and needed some attention before it would function semi-properly. Still having some issues with it a month later...

I am still seeking a working, reasonably priced Wizard-preferably a G3. My main concern is not with cosmetics, I just need a well working Wizard with a very SOLID usb port.
I have been quite busy with doctor appointments and physical therapy, so please be patient with me, I will respond to PM's.

I am thinking about upgrading shortly, I have a fully unlocked G3 Wizard. Will let you know if I do decide to upgrade. It has typical scratches on the body, usb is solid and it works great.

Well I had a potential sale fall through, so I am again back looking for a good condition (solid usb port, gently handled) Wizard. Preferably a G3. I am willing to go as high as $150 with shipping, and will pay with Money Order or Visa Gift Card, or if you bank with Wells Fargo, a direct money transfer. I will NOT send cash (I do not trust the USPS and want to have a recourse if the payment is lost in the mail), and I cannot use Paypal because my account is frozen due to some supposed fraudulent activity (I suspect someone tried to hack my account). If you have an MDA in good condition and want to sell, please PM me.

It is in good shape. (although I have to be honest I dropped it once or twice)
It was mostly held in it's case untill I lost it. then I bought a black plastic cover/skin for it. It doesn't look like I just bought it. The plastic cover I bought for 10 buck makes it look like it.
I could use an upgrade, but I'm not due untill september.
I love my wizard. it is very durable, and well worth the cost; so I won't be upset or offended if you don't take the offer

No screen scratches please (screen protector used from the start), minimum visible usage and a warranty cards or any other proof of purchase for a possible reclamation with the manufacturer and/or AT&T.

you could probally find a seller on american ebay that would see you an expo for a pretty good deal.

I know and I monitor eBay. But it I encounter many problems there:
- Seller does not send abroad.
- Seller does not have a warranty card.
- Seller can't provide quality photo of the phone.
- Seller does not communicate.
So I try even this approach

If you really want one I will sell you mine for $300 I really like it but I have a few other phone I could use. Very good condition with a screen protector on it from day one. I still have the box and everything that came with it.
