Hi
Is anyone aware of a real idiot's explanation of connecting an M600 to a home Wi Fi connection. I have found lots of interesting and what appears to be useful hints and tips but nothing seems to be connecting me
My M600 finds my wireless connection and the status says its available - it just wont connect though
Any advice appreciated
Thanks
Jimmy
Does your wifi network have WEP or WPA security?
If so you have to use the actual key and not the pass-phrase. Other than that it's pretty straight forward.

have you got an adsl modem/router/access point set up on your home pc? This enables you to share your adsl connection???
HI
my SPV M2000 cant see wireless networks. When I turn on wi-fi it simply says 'scannning network' I know that its not the wireless router as all my other wireless devices can see it .... any ideas, or any ideas of who / where can fix it if its the hardware inside.
It is nearly new and has never connected to a wi fi network

Wi Fi connection on SPV M600
Hi, did you ever manage to sort this problem? I have just bought one of these and am experiencing the same difficulties as you.
Any help appreciated
Thankyou
Hi guys.
Little silly question:
What are the settings on your router?
If this is your home network then you typed in the WAP or WEP key to set it up. Otherwise, you don't need one.
Have you even tryed to read the manual? It helps.
wifi connection problems
Hi, maybe i should've explained more
I am trying to connect to my wifi router at home (netgear). My m600 has found the the signal. i tap on the network name and go to the CONFIGURE WIRELESS NETWORK screen,in the GENERAL tab i can see the SSID, i select THE INTERNET from the drop down menu next to "connects to", in the NETWORK KEY tab i set authentication to OPEN, Data encryption to WEP & then enter the network key.
I then go back to the CONFIGURE WIRELESS NETWORK screen and my m600 is trying to connect, then it will say AVAILABLE but not CONNECTED - why is this????
Also, it only stays AVAILABLE for about 30 seconds and then its status changes back to UNAVAILABLE
I really would be most grateful for any help in this matter
Thanks in advance , Jimmy
Sounds like you are typing the key wrong.
Make sure encryption type and key matches exactly the settings on your router.
Try disabling encryption on your router and see if you can connect.
M600 wifi connection problem
Thanks levenum - still no luck though
Although i have managed to connect to my neighbours unsecured network (very poor connection though)
Has wifi connection been explained indepth elsewhere? or am i the only unlucky (retarded) one?
Hang on a second, something I saw in the other thread (somewhere in Network forum):
You need to type the actual key (hex values) and not the pass phrase if you are using one.
Sorry, don't know any guides.
wifi connection problem SORTED!
Cheers levenum,
i dont wanna make myself look a complete idiot so i should say that i did have the proper key typed into the box at 64bit encryption
however, i changed it to 128bit encryption and it connected straight away
I have no idea why
I wonder what i'll be moaning about next???
Hey
I've been trying to connect to the internet through my Orange Livebox using a WiFi connection from my SPV 3100.
I tried all settings but couldnt connect to the Livebox at all.
I found a post about using a static IP to connect on another forum this actually had success in that it actually managed to connect to the Livebox and the internet but after a certain period the connection randomly seems to drop and after a while doesnt connect at all.
I havent changed any of the settings on the Livebox, I've tried almost everything on the M3100 but to no success.
If anyone has had success achieving this could they please let me know how they managed to do it.
All help appreciated and thanks in advance
Has you livebox got a button on it? If it has its the pairing buttonn... You need to hold that when pairing... I know you had to do that on the old wanadoo liveboxes...
Yes it has and i have been using it as per the instructions.
Thanks for your help
Has any1 else managed to use their SPV M3100 to access the web thru their Orange Unlimited Livebox if you have managed it can you please let me know how u managed it.
Thanks in advance again
Hi,
I have managed to get my 3100 working with my Orange Livebox.
Make sure you have pressed the pairing button on the livebox.
I found that I had to change the settings on my phone in the 'Configure Network Authentication' section to :
Authentication - OPEN
Data Encryption: WEP
and then enter the WEP key found on your Livebox.
Hope this helps,
Mark
Thanks Mark
I've done that already to no avail
Was there by chance anything else you did to the settings?

The above worked for me. I entered my key in capitals
Thanks everyone after some trial and error tests in a different environment i found the problem to be nothing more malicious than a simple Livebox wireless channel clash where i'm using the box is pretty densely residential and i think the sheer number of wireless networks made it impossible for my SPV 3100 to connect using the default wifi channel 1 after picking an ubscure channel (11 i think) i've had no problems and am actually posting this message using my 3100 through a wifi connection to my Livebox
Thanks again everyone
Hi,
I'm going to move to a location where no reasonable internet connection is available... but 3G seems to work.
I'm now looking for a mehtod to use my old Artemis as an UMTS modem which shares it's connection with my Linksys WRT610n router.
I already searched the net but couldn't find a good solution (except for using the artemis as a wifi router and letting my real router repeat this signal).
Does anyone happen to know a solution which makes this possible via USB?
Or, as an alternative solution, does anyone know a tiny, "green" and cheap computer which could be used to forward the connection from the Artemis to the router?
Any help is highly appreciated.
