I have a Strange problem _ I had put date and time on taskbar as advised in the registry tweaks thread. It Stayed likethat for two months, but lately about 10 seconds after turning the display on only part of the date/time display is Shown that is For 29/06/06 only 29 Is shown. I then deleted "TBOpt" value so that only time is displayed. Now the problem is the Clock automatically changes from digital to analog after Some time. What could be the problem ? How can I correct this ? any help appreciated ...
I am using an o2 mini 1.11 rom

Hi all. I suppose this may be a WM5 regional setting issue but I searched all over with no luck. I want to change the format of the Date item in the Today screen. Currently it displays the date with a line feed (wrap) between the day name and the date, and it has the current time right-aligned on the same line. I don't want the time shown here - it's already on the top bar. I only want the date (and possibly a slight larger font size) here with no wrapping. Is there a hack for this, or do I need to get a additional Today plugin for this?
this is the thread for a TodayTimeCab plug-in that can replace the default date/time display, where you can opt not to show the time (can also select the font size).

thanks raymonds!
no problem.
Owned a Cingular 8525 for just about a month now. So glad I found this forum, its full of wonderful information from a superb community.
I've just upgraded to XDA Live 0.2 and I have a question, although I don't think this question is specific to that version of WM.
The clock on the Today screen shows the time on the top line - but it doesn't show the AM/PM indicator. I believe this was the same under the Cingular theme under WM5 that came with the phone. If my memory servers me correctly, I soon found a way to modify that on WM5 and had the clock showing the AM/PM indicator.
Problem is I made that change in my first week of ownership, and now that I've just upgraded to XDA Live 0.2, I've completely forgotten how I did.
There doesn't seem to be any way to modify the display format in the Settings->Today applet. Maybe it was a registry change I made???
Anyhow, if anyone knows a quick way to make this setting, even if it means installing a separate clock app which replaces the default, I would love to know.
BTW I did make a search on the Hermes forum before submitting this post, but I couldn't find anything relevant.
I am not sure, but this may be connected with the regionnal settings. Try to play with those option which are located in settings
I've got Wisbar Advance 2 on my 8525 and by setting the time format to 'h:mm tt' it displays the AM/PM. Maybe there's a reg hack that can do the same with the standard toolbar clock?
Try:
Settings/System/Regional settings/Time/Time Style
and then choose the H:mm:ss option on the drop down menu.
Hope this works for you
The answer to this question already exists in previous posts.
The answer to this question already exists in the wiki.
If the above post by marissa does not work (remember you can scroll up as well as down in this option) then change the registry:
Go to:
HKLM\nls\overrides
and tap on key STFmt
Some valid entries for this key include
h:mm t ........(12hr, A/P)
h:mm tt .......(12hr with AM/PM)
H:mm:ss ......(24hr)
h:mm:ss tt ...(12hr, seconds, AM/PM)
hh:mm:ss tt .(12hr, seconds AM/PM, leading 0)
Once you have done this and saved it, LONG press the on off button and wait for the warning pop up saying device will shut down and unsaved data will be lost. Tap yes and then long press on/off button to restart. Do not use soft reset or else you may find the changes you just made will be lost and you'll have to repeat the process.
You may find phone is in flight mode on restart but just turn it off.

Re: How to get Today clock showing AM/PM ?
Thanks Marisa & Mike. I forgot to mention that I had taken a look at the Regional Settings applet too, and already set that up to show the h:mm:ss tt format.
Still didn't work on displaying the clock. So I then used Mike's tip about the registry. On looking at that key I saw it was already set to h:mm:ss tt. I modified it anyway, saved, and did long shutdown, long startup.
On reboot, I don't see the clock displayed with the AM/PM indicator. Oh well, thanks anyway. I'll go and post this over in the XDA Live 0.2 thread - maybe it is something to do with this ROM after all.
Thanks again.
Sorry, thought it was just the am/pm that you were trying to show. Getting the clock to show in the first place is different. Will post later, unless someone beats me to it!
At work at present.
Mike
Try some of these:
Change the display of the clock in the taskbar
The clock in the taskbar can be changed to show not only the time, but also the date, or just the date, or nothing at all.
To show nothing:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt = 0 (DWORD decimal)To show just the clock:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt = 1 (DWORD decimal)To show just the date:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt = 2 (DWORD decimal)To show both the date and the clock:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt = 3 (DWORD decimal)Note 1: If you switch to the Analog clock display, the date will remain visible -through- the Analog clock
Note 2: Setting the clock to show 'nothing' will still keep the reserved space, showing the taskbar background, and obscure any icons that will shift to the right.
Note 3: Your date may get obscured by the space reserved for the OK/Close button in the top-right. You can fix this my adding spaces at the end of your 'Short Date Format'. See also the tweak on 'Change the Short Date Format'
The wiki has lots of this type of setting see here:

I have made a skin for S2U2 to match the HD home screen including the tab bar background. However as you can see in the attached pic the clock never positions itself acuratly and is always shifting left or right depending which numbers are displayed. How can I make the numbers always lay within the boundary of the white squares? Where is the coding which tells the positioning of the numbers relative to the screen (x, y coordinates)? Or is it the png files are wrong size?
Any help would be appreciated and will share once fixed.
I Have the same problem but only with the times between 0 and 9:59..
As you can see on the Thumbnails..
I also would be very thankfull for any help..
I've done a similar thing but not for the HD (I don't have mine yet!)
On my Hermes I exeperienced the problem you're having with it not aligning at certain times of the day.
I tried it on a Touch Dual (Nike) and it works perfectly. Quite odd.
I've got a screen ready to go for as soon as I get my HD which should hopefully be next week.....
i don't have my HD yet but i think if you changed time format in the lang.ini file to HH':'mm your problem will be solved, it seems currently it is set to H':'mm !.
hope this will help.
I have tried different time formats. Same problem. Some times its in alignment and some times its not. It all depends on what time it is.
finally i have my HD and as i mentioned before just change the time format and have no problem at all!
here is my lang.ini file attched if you want to try it. after you replace your old one just go to settings and change the time format as ( HH':'mm )
can you dudes post the black hd skin ?
thanks
I searched this forum but could not find the answer.
I tried to manually set the short date format in the registry
(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\nls\overrides)
from "SSDte"=MM/dd/yyyy
To "SSDte"=dd/MM/yyyy
It seems that it caused the dates to display as requested in most apps,
BUT -
The HTC calendar display went CRAZY !!
(I think with the notifications queue went crazy too, but that might have been just a coincedense
When "Agenda" was selected It didnt display the correct day range,
for repeated entries it started to display as multiday,
and in general - totaly failed.
When I changed to a region where dd/MM/yyyy was available,
the calendar performed just fine when set to dd/mm/yyyy.
Any Ideas ?
Another thing (though less important): I tried the reg tweak
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\
TBOpt=3
(show date and time in the taskbar)
But the task manager icon covers part of the date,
so my question is -
is there a way to shift this date/time display a few pixels to the left ?
(So the display area would not overlap?)
Hi Guys,
I am not sure if someone posted this earlier (in fact i have searched the forum and found nothing).
Anyway here's the registry tweak that will help you change your Digital Clock on the Taskbar to Analog.
In Registry, Browse through
HCU\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\SHELL (in this case i have used PHM Registry Editor)
From the above path change the AnalogClock Value from 0 to 1 and then restart your phone. After restart you will find the Analog Clock on the Taskbar. If you dont like it then change the AnalogClock Value back to default (0) to get the digital Clock.
Tested this on my HD2 and is working
Cheers,
Pavan
I've not tested it on the HD2, but on every other HTC I've owned, you just need to tap and hold the taskbar clock and an option will pop up to select analogue or digital.
ok...but
There is no such option on the HD2.
it is noot good looking like on other devices not smooth edges
Great tip,
hoped it would help me with to get close to getting rid of clock + battery see my post (How to get rid of time/batt under 6.5.5 ? ).
but kind of not working for me, see attached screen shot.
