I don't think it's the SD Cards that has the problem. It must be your Universal creating the problem. You already tried 3 different cards and you got the same results.
I only bought one 2 GB Sandisk card and I have been using it on my Universal for almost a year now without problems.
i dont think so that theres a problem with my jasjar as for last 3 months i was using a 1 gb sd card of ncp and it was working fine with it now i have even restored my activesync 4.2 to 4.1 but still there seems to be a problem , but what it is i m not able to understand it coz i thats also right that 3 cards of two diffrent companies can also not be faulty but still they are causing the same problem of data loss .
plz help and thanks for ur quick reply.
mem cards
have you tried to use the mem cards without formating them. my 2g sd card i just used it straight from the packet. havent had any problems with it

I bought transcend 150x 4gb month ago, put directly to my t-mob mda pro(universal) without formating and fortunately i'm not experiencing any probs so far. try to reflash UR rom, maybe it'll help
thanks for ur reply but i have tried my first card without format only and it showed me a problem then the vendor told me to format and use , second thing is as the file sys was earlier fat for the card i formatted it and changed to fat32 but i have noticed whenever the data corrupts it changes its file sys to raw automatically by itself . Any suggestions
hi, just got my 6828 with 80x 2gb. i hv a problem tat i need to always softreset after i performed some file maintenance like copy files from/to the sd card (either to pc or to device's memory). the response of the device just got lagging/or not responding at all after the copy. 1 strange thing is that i got into the similar situation when i just simply create a new folder in sd card.
my card is formatted to FAT 32K cluster with no backup FAT now, tested with FAT32 512b, 4k etc still the same problem. i slotted the card into my old 3970 and hav no problem at all!
anyknow wat's wrong?

I had a similar problem with a Sandisk Micro SDHC 16GB. It was very strange, I could copy files onto the card, delete files from the card; but, when I removed and re-inserted the card, the deleted files reappeared and the copied files disappeared. Formatting the card only gave an error like “The card is write protected” and the format failed. In my case, I was told the card was corrupt. The card was about a few weeks old when this happened. I could not even send the card back to the shop because I could not remove my personal and sensitive data from the card. In the end, I took the hit and bought a new Sandisk Micro SDHC 16GB. The new card has been working perfectly for a couple of months now (fingers crossed).
Sorry, I do not have a solution for you; only my story.

Near the end someone has posted a list of cards that are "officially supported" by the hd2..... this could be the problem.

Guys please help me. I have wierd problem with corruption of external sd card. Its a 16gb transcend class4 microsd. Every 2-3 days i got corrupted files which are moved to lost.dir folder. Files are not newly saved, files are there copied from pc and in a very good condition. After some time my i9000 moves randomly number files in lost.dir. If i rename files with extension (avi, mp3 or jpg) they can be normally played which mean that they are not corrupted. It is happening only with multimedia files. Android folder which contain system files on sdcard stays intact. Another thing is if i back my old 8gb kingston class 4 card everything work normal. I tried formating on phone, in windows, in partition wizaard, no matter what i try after some time problem occur.
Any solution?

I did have the same problems with a 16gb transcend class 6 card. Nothing helped.
Then i bought a 16GB class 10 Samsung SD card and since then, i have no problems.
do you have a sandisk card? i have a sandisk microsd ultra mobile 16 gb, and together with the platypus kernel it always f'ed up. now i have cm9 build 16 with devil kernel 1.1 and everything works flawlessly, no data loss. but more generally: ever since i left platypus, all is well.
