Active sync allows me synchronise files with my computer and store them in storage memory of Wizard. Is it possible to synchronise files with storage card?
Try MOBSYNC - it's freeware and seems to work ok... it's a kind of job scheduler that can detect when Activesync is active and start the sync job appropriately.

Now, I know all about Active syncs shortcomings but I'm stuck with it.
I have it set to sync files and it reports that 2 files can't be synched. How do I find out which ones?
well i suppose you can explore the pda using activesync while you look in "my pocket pc documents"
in your my documents on your pc
a reson why they will not sync could be that they are being used by a program on the pda and they are not present on my pocketpc documents so activesync are trying to delete them from the pda but cant because they are in use
I use active sync via bluetooth and two bizarre problems:
1. It erases stuff OFF my desktop, conatcts that are in PPC but not on desktop.
2.) It doesn't correctly update conatcts, ie a change on desktop not coming through on PPC.
Any ideas?
Have you checked all the synchro settings for replacing duplicate items, etc.? It's one of the config options in Activesync but I can't remember exactly where as I don't have it in front of me atm.
If they're ok, try deleting and recreating your partnership (say no to delete synchronised files but yes to delete everything else), then if that doesn't work, repairing/reinstalling Activesync.

i.e. I want to sync all items in c:\bla folder with the sd storage card via active sync (or any other method)...I've got network sharing works with wifi if that helps ?!?!

Active sync doesn't synchronise with the storage card, so that's one option to discard. I don't know if there are any other ways though.

I just got a MDA Vario (HTC Wizard) from T-mobile (UK) and installed Activesync 4.1 OK (well it caused my Windows XP machine to crash before I updated the Nforce2 Motherboard drivers!).
Now, I can install & remove programs OK.
But I can't get my emails and contacts etc from Windows Outlook 2003 (Office Pro 2003 SP2) to my Vario - even though activesync does a synchronisation??
Also contacts generated on the Vario don't end up on the PC outlook 2003 either??
Any ideas ? Before I have to manually enter all my contacts & addresses??

for me active sync works first time out of the box.
you chould have a look at all the options and make sure they look sensible. Under options-->sync options. make sure contacts is ticked and settings look correct to you.
As your device is new, I believe you are entitled to free support from microsoft for 60 days and for tmobile for the life of your contract. I don't know about tmobile support but I have always found the microsoft technical helpline extremely good, and surprisingly few consumers use it!

Thanks for that - it must be something to do with mt desktop PC as I loaded Activesync 4.1 on my centrino laptop and got my contacts onto my MDA without any problems? Both are using the same Windows XP Corp so I don't think it's a windows issue and the only real difference between the laptop and the Desktop is that there is a ADSL/Router with Firewall connected to the Desktop, which may be upsetting the transfer of data from Outlook?
I did try a Bluetooth connection but that didn't work either??
Strange that I can load/unload programs, browse my PDA through Activesync but I cannot exchange data from Outlook 2003 to the PDA??
this could also be a problem with your outlook profiles. i.e. it could be that it is syncing, but with a new profile that does not include your old data. Have a look at the outlook options.
The extreme way to deal with it, is to export or backup all your outlook contacts and diary and other data. Uninstall outlook, rebnoot and make sure you delete the folder under program files. Then reinstall fresh. Setup to sync with PDA and then reimport all your old settings. Although this is a last resort.
Well do to a corruption of my root hard drive MBR I had to reformat and re-install windows (A nice long job!) - and would you believe it, that the newly installed activesync is now working properly - ie emails and contacts are synchronised on both the Desktop PC and my Vario???

how cai I sync me Jam's notes with Outlook?
I'm tryin' to sync my Jam's notes but I can't see the notes in Outlook...
Works fine for me using Outlook to Pocket Informant - check your settings on your ativesync on the PC - maybe you did not check the box to sync the Notes.
I made some test and I found the problem: I usually store the notes of my jam in the storage card and in that way the notes doesn't sync with outlook.
I change the storing setting to main memory and it works!
Is it possible to use the storage card to store the notes and sync it up with outlook?
