Best podcast software - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Does anyone here use their pocket pc to download podcasts, if so which is the best one which will download to the SD card?

Mostly Ive been using Garishkernels Egress for podcasts. The latest version handles all feeds/enclosures(podcasts) and also is configurable to download the podcast or just stream as required.
It also has a nifty Today plugin which cyles through new updates
I havent found anything as usefull as it

i've been using skookum for podcasts for the past few months, and had no major issues with it

I recommend Hubdog www.hubdog.com. You can download vidcasts as well!

Newsreader recommendation

Wondering whether any user have any problems with Newsbreak? Any feedback on the program? Thanks in advance.
I had some trouble with Newsbreak before they gave me a link to download the latest beta version (1.1.0.1032), but now it works great. I haven't tried other feed readers, but I really like this one.
I recommend Pluck on PC, Egress on handheld. Terrific software, export the opml file from Pluck to Egress easily.

I have been unable to use TCPMP w/my T-Mobile Wing. I downloaded and installed the cab TCPMPflvplugin-v0.4.2. Nothing appears in my list of programs from the Start Menu and I am unable to open mobytube.net in my IE browser. What have I done wrong? Please help.
TCPMP does appear in my program list when I go to "Remove Programs."
I have a T-Mobile Wing w/Windows Mobile 6 Professional.
Download the program WVD (Web Video Downloader)
You can see videos (realtime) or download to your SD Card from 10/12 sites.
Perfect.

Yes, I would suggest Skyfire... It is kinda slow, but AWESOME for Flash/YouTube sites. Uses the same technology the new Internet Explorer Mobile (Unveiled today) uses.
Try the skyfire internet browser software. it lets you watch videos from basically any website and its fast.

Feedreader

I'm looking for a good feed reader application that supports wvga and allows me to view pictures (webcomics) and flash content (if possible, optional) inside the flash player. The RSS reader that is installed shows only text. Anyone who can point me in the right direction?
try spb online or spb insight
Newsbreak, pRSSReader, Egress - all these can download pictures as well, none support flash I think
I use google reader iphone version on iris browser. works like a charm though it doesn't support flash.
maybe combining reader + opera + flashlite should work...
I use BeyondPod for my feeds and podcasts. Don't know if it can do flash though.
Thanks for the all the replies people. Here's some results:
SPB Insight: First of all, it's paid, I prefer not to pay for such a trivial app. Second, it didn't look the way I like my feedreader to look.
Newsbreak: Won't install on X1, keeps returning an "installation unsuccesful" message.
Egress: Won't install on X1, keeps returning an "installation unsuccesful" message.
pRSSReader: Looks like everything I want, but refuses to show pictures - it's the same as the stock RSS reader.
Google Reader: I've never in my life seen such an unintuitive and annoying feed reader. Also, it's online, I want to be able to use it offline as well.
Beyondpod: Review coming soon, can't DL it from opera mobile, the website doesn't correctly load and I don't have access to a PC atm.
does anyone of the mentioned apps have the ability to show feeds on the Today screen?

Newsbreak does indeed work on the x1... was recommended to me by a friend and I have been using it all day... nice little app and does what it says on the tin (plus a bit more).... would recommend this one... would also like to try egress too as have heard its pretty good... btw Newsbreak utilises the whole screen... and it has a today screen plugin which is pretty good... and handy...
Does anyone know how often SPB Insight updates/download the feeds?
Or do I have to do it manually?
I use this app:
http://www.mediafire.com/?ooijamaxocg
It's Java but has a load of channels to choose from.

After reading on SPB forums, I found out that it doesn't auto-update.
Does anyone know of another app with both a today screen plug-in and auto-updates?
RSS Hub will work with Flash (as long as FlashLight 3.1 is installed). Look hard enough and you can find a cab for that around here.
How about pRSS Reader??

Newsbreak... you can set it to update when you are connected to pc, connected (wireless for eg) and a couple of others as well as never... and it shows on today...
pRSS Reader also shows on Today, just checked.
Thanks guys. Ive just tried 3 different RSS readers and heres what I thought:
* SPB Insight: Looks good, especially with thumbnails on the Today-screen.
- Doesn't have auto-update
* Newsbreak: Works great and has auto-update.
- Doesn't appeal me visually / No thumbnails on today-screen.
* pRSS reader: Works great, has auto-update and shows more info than Newsbreak on the today screen.
- No thumbnails either.
So it came down to either have thumbnails or auto-update, and I went with pRSS reader

Yes. Go to the website you want the feed from, and look at their RSS address (hold the mouse over their RSS-icon).
For example http://icanhascheezburger.com/ has http://feeds.feedburner.com/icanhascheezburger

E-Wallet - Freeware!

Hi guys,
Can someone please direct me to a freeware app similar to e-wallet?
I'm not spending money on any more applications.
KeePass is good freeware alternative
http://keepass.info/index.html
eSec

looks like ewallet, i've not used/try it, I have ewallet
This looks good.

I'm still using the e-wallet demo and I'm loving it! I've still got 8 more days. Any more suggestions? please.
I will also recommend KeePassPPC.
One nice benefit of KeePass is that there is also several desktop versions (for PC, Mac, Linux, etc). So you can keep a single database (.kdb) with all of your information, and read it both on your phone as well as on your PC. And of course it is also freeware while supporting the same encryption standards.

Replacement For Viigo?

Just got my HD2. So far, so good. However, my newsreader Viigo absolutely will not function. Crashes every time. Can anyone suggest a good, FREE newsreader for the HD2?
Thanks.

Hey Bob, any luck there?
I only found out about Viigo recently and have never been able to use it on my HTC-TP. Really frustrating, as it looks like a great application.
What's more, there's no way to send these guys a question/comment/report, to let them know that their product is useless for me. Support is only available for registered users, and the only way to register is via the mobile application (which, as I mentioend, doesn't work!).
I'll appreciate it if you send them a support request and update this thread on the results.
In the mean time, let me suggest:
(1) Upvise, which appears to be a great solution, however here too I've had no success thus far running the application on my device.
(2) RSS Hub, which comes with most of the ROMs available on this web site. Main downside for me is you can't auto-download the entire article, unlike in Viigo and Upvise.
(3) If you're syncing your device with MS-Outlook, you can use Outlook as your RSS "downloader", then sync the different RSS channels (folders) with your HD2. You can download entire articles with this. The downside is browsing the different feeds on pocket Outlook, which can be quite tedious.

Thanks for the reply. Since I wrote the message I started working with RSS Hub and have found it to be an acceptable replacement for Viigo.
