Hello,
I have installed the speed dial "testtodayplugin.cab" like the speed dial on the treo 700. It shows picture thumbnails which are speed dials.
Within the setting when you go to the today plugin, then hit options it says
"PRESS OPTION + SCROLL TO MOVE A BUTTON"
I have a imate kjam / Wizard... I dont know where my option button is or the scroll to re-arrange pictures...
Can anyone guide me to where the option and scrolls buttons are on the unit...
Thanks in Advance,
Scott
Edit/Delete Message
There's an issue with the full functionality of the program since it's actual residence IS the 700w. I think, from experience and from these forums, that this is just one of the issues. May I suggest just deleting the buttons and creating them as you want them to appear on the screen?
I know I can do that, but it tends to get a bit annoying.
Do you know forsure that this is a flaw?
Thanks,
Scott

Hi , I would like to know if anybody figured out when sending an email or SMS how to go from "To:" to the actual message you will type without touching the screen ?
The Tab key didn't work for me .
Doesn't the down arrow do it? Works for me.
V
Both Tab and the Down arrow work for me. Just tried.
Press Message button to go to Pocket Outlook.
Tap LHS soft key to select New
Type first few letters of contact's name.
When number is suggested, press down arrow to select number.
Press Enter to fill in the number.
Press Tab to move to message area.
Type message
nope it doesn't on my xda exec, if I press the down arrow, the scroll bar will go down but the cursor is still on the "to:"
I dont' have a scrollbar anywhere on the New Message screen. I'm running in VGA landscape mode though. Maybe that's the difference.
Doesn't Tab work?
nope the tab + down key didn't work, it will go down on the scroll bar but the cursor will still be on on the "to:"
You said you were on VGA landscape mode, is it with ozvga ? or did you have asetting on the phone itself ?

Yeah - it's OzVGA.
Man, it would be really annoying if I had to use the stylus to create SMS. This is the biggest benefit for me: Doing (almost) everything in the system using only the keyboard. I hope you find a solution soon.
yeah, I just have to use my dirty fingers to put the cursor in the right place :?
One quick question, I have some app like wisbar/ netfront 3.3 in VGA already, if I install ozvga will it miss it up or they will still look the same ?
Or maybe there is only one way to find out....
If you're using WA2 with OzVGA, you'll have to switch to a QVGA version of your Wisbar theme, otherwise it'll all go very weird. Not too much of a problem though, it just takes up a bit more space in your Themes folder having two versions of the same theme, and you need to switch them manually in WA2 when you switch resolutions.
This is because the system uses 96dpi (QVGA) icons, toolbars, fonts, etc, etc when running OzVGA.
thanks, I'll have a go.
still playing with it, just wait on an update so the phone can have a decent response time, miss my xdaIIs for that but, it is another subject 8)
Still love it BTW!
jeux_1, i have the same exact issue. It was driving my pretty crazy, but it helps to know someone else has this issue. Have you found a fix?
For the last three weeks, I was using the keyboard to write SMS, and my TAB key was moving the cursor from 'To' to the body of the message...
And now, suddenly, it does only a scroll down, like the down arrow, but stay in the 'To' field... :?
Any idea :?: it's really annoying....
Does anybody have an idea about that :?:
I think it is a bug for the O2 EXEC, my friend have an Orange one and work works fine.
I don't think there is a solution and it is a bug on the O2 one. Any of you guys can confirm ?
There is as well a new guy with a new Rom I will ask him if he has the same issue.
Actually, I use a Qtek 9000, different ROM
And it was working for at least three weeks... and now, it does'nt work anymore... smth changed, but I cannot find out what
here goes my theory..... :?
Ok, I found the solution.... my TAB key works again..
The problem came from Tweaks2k2 .NET, version 3.15... as soon as I apply changes with it, the TAB behavior changes...
Dont think anyone has noticed with the TyTN but HTC have re-enabled the feature to quickly access the call list and speed dial list. In the phone app click either Up or Right to access the call list; Down or Left for speed dials.
haha - good one ;-) ... first thing I noticed when I switched on the device; maybe because I came straight from the hw6515 where that's exactly how it works.
Martin
With smartskey (search for it)
in phone application by default
UP :Speed Dial
DOWN: Call History
LEFT : Messaging
RIGHT : Contacts
And if I remember right; also you can change the behaviour of the buttons
Hope this is what u r asking for
The reason i posted it was because when WM5 was first released this was one feature that was missing that was present on WM2003SE previously.
Dont use smartskey as i came from a BA not a wizard.

OOOPS
I did not notice the re-enabling thing :?
works with the wheel also.
This means one hand dialing really is possible.
Great find

what actually is accessed by wheel? recent calls or speed dial?
Does this function have an on/off setting somewhere. I know I had it before but now for some reason the d-pad won't access call list...? Not sure what happened.
I did realise since I also came directly from a blue angel. I didn't know that it works with the wheel too.
That's great!
The only thing which I find a pity is when I'm in Call Status mode just after finishing a call, then it does not work. Anybody know a way to make it work in call status mode, too?
I did not install the Extended Rom on my o² Trion and this function is not working. I really miss it though.
Does anybody now, what CAB do I have to install? Or did anybody try Smartskey on a TyTN?
Cheers

i did, works, however i'm only using SmartSKey on my Hermes for quick real-closing apps with right softkey. i don't know how accessing call history and other phone-stuff works.
...that show the keys on Today screen and who they are assigned to?
i always setup speed dial on every new phone then forget what they are
Use the picture dialer. There a long thread in these forums.
If you dont want to use pictures you can configure it to just have buttons and names.
duh -found it! - thanks
is there any easy way to get the small pics and have them in a horiz bar on today screen?
sorry, not really a question to you - i'll read the complete thread
The author of PQz wrote a screen dialer.
There's the Palm dialer.
And I use claunch and VJSMS etc.

yep - that's the one! Thanks
btw do you know how to remove the owner information from the Today screen?
Okay, I've been reluctant to post this, but I've search the forums and I've search Google, etc, etc. and can't find the answer... What I want to do is add two icons on my Today screen that go to my Call History and my Speed Dial. I'm using iLaunch and can pretty much create an icon to anything, but for the life of me I can't figure out the link/path to Call History or Speed Dial. I'm pretty sure it possible bacuse it's right there as a button on my dialpad. Can anyone tell me the link or how to create a link to those two applets?
Thanks!
Oh, I have a 8525 running Black 2.0

Download the attached file, unZIP it, copy CallHistory.exe to your phone, and you will have CallHistory. I dont know the solution for Speed Dial. sorry.
Thanks! Worked like a charm. Now if I could only find the Speed Dial app....

can you guys please post a Screen Image?
I just want to see if it's what I'm looking for
I currently don't have a screen-print app on my device to get you the actual image of my Today screen, but this image is similar to the look of mine with the larger icons pointing to various applications/shortcuts. The Call History and Speed Dial screens are the same as you get to by going to the Dailpad and clicking on the History and Speed Dial buttons.
I find myself using the Call History and Speed Dial more than my Contacts or manual dialing so I wanted access to those two options with one click rather than going through the dial pad or fumbling around with the bottom jog pad.
Try
http://www.vijay555.com/?Releases:VJPhoneShortcuts; try it
or I made myself a small cab that I can send u with one the apps above (speedialer) to install to left soft key straight.

I've found that theres no speed dial shortcut.
On the Touch you simply press the Green Call key, press button down on the thumb pad and all the speed dials are there.. this isn't so on the dual.
has anyone found a easy wasy to find them with less than 5 clicks?
If not, does anyone know what .exe runs the speed dial, so I can create a shortcut on the Start menu.
Tnx
Steve

I personally find smart dialing to be a breeze... Just start keying in the first couple of letters and you'll get the matches... I have over 400 contacts and I find it a very efficient way to dial
Aaaaaaww what a great tip! Have had my Touch Dual for a week and had not discovered this gem. Thanks

What about assigning the contact tiles in the Touch Flo as you speed dials? Then you can have pictures of your contacts too?
my "workaround" for your reference:
1. add a shortcut to HTCActionScreen.exe (i.e. the action screen we get when sliding down the keypad) to Windows\Start Menu\Program Files\
2. now should be able to add HTCActionScreen.exe to the HTC Home Launcher tab
usage:
(click 1) launcher tab -> (click 2) launch action screen -> key in whatever you like with the hardware keypad to enjoy the quickdial feature
just for exp sharing.
But why do you need a shortcut for that?
I you anyway use the hardware keyboard to use quickdial,
why not simply start actionscreen by sliding out the keyboard?

1. when i'm so stupid that i can't press the first key before the action screen timeout and disappear. in this case, i don't want to slide the keypad back and out again.
2. when i want to use the other shortcuts on the action screen.
Hehe, ok
But one hint: u don't need to close and reopen the slider.
The sensor is on the last 5mm.
Just pull it a little bit back and release.

hehe... i really did this previously.
the shortcut was added later when i found that sometimes (though not frequent at all) i may want to access the shortcuts on the action screen without opening the keypad.
