WM5 & Prophet. I have connected to IE with it before.
Now I can log on transfer files, etc.... but IE won't work, comes up, just sits there and says locating....... The only thing I've done recently is add A2DP (works great thanks to this forum).

Hi, i have an O2 XDA-mini-S Wizard running the "as shipped" ROM (1.5.4.2 WWE)
I find i am unable to send or receive file transfers via bluetooth. i have tried to send/receive with my Ipaq 2210 (win 2003 ROM 1.10.07 Eng) and also a friends Orange branded (orange Uk ROM) M500/Magician.
I have tried using the windows file manager and also Resco explorer.
Any ideas or help?
OK, a small update (and bump)
I got annoyed with all the O2 stuff on my mini-s so did a hard reset and got rid of their junk.
I doubt that has made a difference in itself, but more likely its removed any settings i made whilest playing with my new phone
Wizard-> Ipaq works ok
Ipaq -> Wizard, shows the wizard as an option but is "unable to connect"
Wizard <-> Magician Doesn't even see as an option (for OBEX file transfer, we tested to make sure contacts can be exchanged)
I have exactly the same problem with my Qtek9100. I'm in bad need of being able to transfer contacts between my cellular phones/pda and my wizard. Wizard -> Phone/pda works fine, but the other direction only results in an "unable to connect" message.
Another dilemma is to send files from my computer (with a BT dongle) to the Wizard. My PC doesn't even recognize a file transfer functionality towards the Qtek.
Is there a list of which Bluetooth services that the Wizard offers, and maybe a comparison to other handhelds?
Any comments on this is highly appreciated!
After successfully unlocked Cingular 8525 phone, I can use the phone and connected to internet. After a month the phone still work fine, but the internet connection stop. If I tap the iexplore in the start menu, it always brought me to internet setup guide. I came back to the provider who recheck the setting and told me that evrything is fine, and said perhaps Cingular lock my unit, and suggest to reformat the PDA phone. Question: (i) Is it possible Cingular did it so I cannot connect to the internet? (ii) Using file explorer, I can still find iexplorer (17.8K) under Windows folder; but not in other folder, and no icon in Program (Start -> Program). Is there something wrong with this? (iii) Is reformatting necessary, and will not damage the phone?

I did a soft reset first, and tried to reconfigure the internet connection again, and it works! at least I can connect the internet now. Thanks! However, I still cannot use it fully, e.g. when opening You tube, there is a message that i cannot open it because either the JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia's Flash Player. How can I turn the JavaScript on? (if does not work, do I need download and install Macromedia's Flash Player?)
The problem with YouTube and the 8525, or any device with WM5, is that there is not newer version of Flash available for these devices. It has nothing to do with JavaScript.....But since you asked, Pocket IE (PIE) doesn't support the full version of JavaScript the rest of the world knows and loves. Instead, it has Microsoft's own version: JScript.

I just installed Active Sync 4.5 and have not yet synchronized once my wizard. I have following rom:
aku-3 Roms V2 For Htc-wizard 3.3.0.0
what are the problems?
- rapimgr.exe hast ALWAYS about 99% CPU loading, notebook is not anymore usable
- a synchrnonization lasts several minutes and ends with failures: when i click on view status after it seems to be synchronized, i get following message: server busy
- i cant edit settings, e.g. which outlook folder have to be synchronized, the option is grayed out...

i will deinstall that and go back to 4.2 or what it was before...

what versions of office and outlook are you using? also did you make sure you cleared up everything with your firewall software (if any)?
if all else fails uninstall, reboot, then reinstall. that usually does the trick.

I reinstalled it already twice
now I connected it to my work pc, there it works... pah - it takes much longer than with 4.2, but the rapimgr.exe has not 99% cpu load while synchronizing and after like at my private notebook... :/

i'd bet money it was your software firewall. are you using zone alarm? if you are give access to all the components of zone alarm and you should be fine.

sorry, forgot to answer to this question:
i use sunbelt kerio. for old version it was configured correctly. when i look to the firewall, i see the programs with new icons which all have access as it was before... so i think that's not the problem
Hi i seem to have a problem with my dopod 838(htc wizard) i bought it 2nd hand and i can't get it to work with my sim cards( i tried 3 different network sim cards ) and i can't get any signal. the blue tooth, wi-fi, IR, and GPRS doesn't work. I can not connect with active sync... windows can see a device is connected but it says "unidentified device". The PDA side of the unit works perfectly fine, only the connectivity part and the sim won't work. I am sure it wasn't stolen coz it still has reciepts of the unit but its out of warranty already. any ideas on how to fix this? your reply would mean a great help. thank you in advance

You should have started your own thread for this. You need to post more information though or nobody will be able to help you. Reboot your phone and you'll soon see a page that list your IPL, SPL, OS, GSM, etc in the upper left hand corner while it's rebooting. Write that info down and post it. if you want help.

I have a huge problem concerning my XDA Neo (Prophet)!
Months ago I had a XDA Mini and when it was connected to my computer I had an internet connection on my XDA.
This does not work on my XDA Neo. Im not able to establish a connection and I really need to, because several programms (SPB Insight) need to update via Internet, and normally they would start automatically but they cant connect to the internet!
I tested Pocket IE and it doesnt work either! If I establish a connection via GPRS everything works fine.
Are there any differences between XDA Neo and Mini that could explain this problem? Do i have to change settings in order to get a connection?
Did i miss anything else?!?
Please Help, I didnt find anything useful via Search or via Google. Everything was related to WLAN !

Well, it works .. now?!? Dont ask me why. I established a new partnership (did this 2 times .. before), and now I have a connection!?
If someone has a clue why it didnt work ... tell me !?

Two possibilities:
1) Firewall, since with WM 5 and up the device is recognized as a network by the PC.
2) Mismatch in settings between ActiveSync->Connection settings->'This computer connects to...' and (on the phone) Settings-Connections->connections->Advanced->Network selection
Hi, i had a similar problem, tried a few things, and it worked
1. On your device, open Connections, click Advanced :
Select MY ISP for programs that connect to the internet
Select MY WORK NETWORK for private network
2. Open Activesync, Connection settings, Select "Internet"
Try and see if that works, if it doesnt, there is a LVM Reg patch file in this forum for the desktop, which makes it work for sure.

long and short of it, i'm trying to connect the HD to another device (Hermes) to share internet via bluetooth, and its not having it.
I've gotten my pc to connect, but i can't figure out how to get this up & running on the HD.
The steps i've taken:
With WMWifirouter
Setup the Cellular to Bluetooth Connection
Paired the HD to Hermes
result: no internet connection
(it briefly shows as being connected , then quickly goes back to waiting for connection)
but i've realized that internet explorer is trying to access connections settings
So i go to Connections, Add a new modem connection , select bluetooth as the modem, try to add a new device, it sees the Hermes, try to connect, it shows no services, and when you select save, it brings me right back to the add a new device page....no saved connection w/ the hermes...
Bear in mind i can still send files between the devices (Hermes & HD) showing they are paired. (and of note during this time, the bluetooth status in WMwifirouter goes to connect, and then after the file has finished being sent goes back to waiting for connection)
Trying to use ICS, is more of the same...as in exactly the same...add the device, no services, never saves.
I've tried installing the wm6 DUN found here on both devices, no go.
I am desperately hoping that someone has some words of wisdom to share with me.
What am i doing wrong, and has anyone successfully gotten this to work on an HD.
I was originally running Dutty's 2.5 when i first tried this, and at the time thought it might be an issue w/ the rom, so flashed back to the stock rom , but its made no difference.
