I am going to be buying a universal (o2 XDA Exec) however it has got a couple of things wrong with it.
1 being the stylus is loose (which i have read is a common problem but there is a stylus which sits snuggly apparently so will try that)
and 2 being the phone cutting out when you use battery intensive things like WiFi. the battery apparently doesnt last very long either
so do you reckon the solution will just be buying a new battery? or flashing a new rom?
Thanks
The chance for you to fix that kind of problems with a new battery is about as high as it can be.
it seems the new battery has fixed the problem
Many people have problems with Universal battery, if you are going to buy new battery, buy chinese with more mAh. Look on eBay.
i bought a 1750mAh from uk works perfectly
the stylus falling out problem i fixed by putting 2 layers of sellotape around it
I'm a newbie, can you addvice me what battery to buy? How mA? should be original?
Is this one good?

Same question here... AT&T no longer stocks the battery and I need a replacement.
I'd want the battery with the longest life, which fits the same way as the standard battery... Also, not outlandishly expensive.
Thanks
This One seems to be getting a very good review.
Have you used that battery, k-semler? It looks pretty good, although it's pricey. I'm wondering if the tilt really will recognize that it's a high capacity battery, as this has been an issue with other high capacity batteries.
I haven't used it, but it seems to have a rather good review from that user on HoFo. I'm thinking about buying it myself.
I got the Cameron Sino battery. Slim battery fits the factory battery door. Power rating at 1600Mah compare to factory of 1350Mah which is a 18.5% power increase.
I got the battery and put it in the phone and use it until it was drained. I repeat that couple more times and after a few charges the battery seem to hold power very well.
With this new battery the phone last 1.5 day with normal use no problem ( Normal usage is not including using GPS and Bluetooth and Web browsing all day long)

I just walked into an at&t store last week w / my kaiser in RLOD mode.
Bought a new battery and it started right up. So they do indeed still stock the battery. Duno if you were referring to some other higher quality battery, but the normal stock battery they do carry.

I have no way of knowing if it's really a Samsung. It works perfectly and I dont know if it lasts longer than the original as its a long time since my original battery worked properly to compare.
This battery, like most of the after market ones does not have the metal shield stuck to the battery. I glued some foil on to the replacement battery although it worked just fine both with an without the foil.

I didn;t get that with the metal shield? Where it is?
Why they have to have this?
If my battery have not metal shield what should I do?

The OEM battery had a metal plate stuck to the under side of the battery that makes contact with four earthing points in the battery compartment of the phone.
There has been a lot of discussion as to why this is the case but no concrete answers.
I have used the Ebay replacement battery with no metal shield with no problem at all.

I just purchased this accu. I bought it for $22 dollars included the shipping costs. (Shipping to Holland so worth the price!)
I've got to wait till they shipped it over to Holland but for this price it will be worth the time I hope.
I was hoping somebody already would have purchased this accu and reviewed it...
I'll post a review soon with my experience with this over powered accu.
My dear old Touch HD just fubared on me, or to be more precise, the button that controlls the power on/off and screen on/off is messy and is kind of pressed at all times which makes the mobile useless :/
So I wonder if anyone wants it or atleast the two batteries I have for it? One of the batteries is a Momax 1500mAh (which seems worse than the standard batteri Im afraid)
If so lemme know
Post the price for parts i guess.

Just a query, have you tried to pull the power on/off button back using tweezers?
I'm from the UK (if that matters.. No idea)
I'll take the batteries, and any spare screen protectors or cases you have. Just bought an HD, and lookin' to pimp it.
If you have one of those desk chargers for batteries, that'd be cool too.

i have a broken Touch HD i think my board is broken (or bricked).. everything is working fine.. it lived to 1 month then it broke.. :/
I could use the cover as mine fell down and is very scratched.
If you are going to sell parts of this you'll have to abide by forum rules and use Market Place
Hi, you can help me! i would need the screen panel and the motherboard part where is the SIM...you can really send to me?
Hi,
i've tried just about anything to improve GPS singal on my Nexus S, i was so desperate i even thinked about selling it. But by accident i've found something interesting.
When you remove battery cover signal from GPS is really good, usable even indoors 1-2 meters from window. When you put cover back - it suddenly drops. Here's the best part - when i use different cover directly on the back of the phone, WITHOUT original battery cover (i have thick back case which you put on battery cover, anti scratch thing) signal was just as fine as without any cover!
Then i tried covering back of the phone with a case from another phone (Galaxy S) and signal was fine.
So the culprit is NFC spiral which is sticked to the battery cover. I'd like to take it off, but im not sure if it is possible to stcik it back in case of RMA or something.
I'd like you to try this simple experiment and tell me if your phones suffer from the same thing.
Thanks
hmm interesting

What about turning NFC off?
Today i took off NFC antenna and it didn't work, which is strange. Now the culprit is whole battery cover. As i said i tried different cases and GPS was working fine with them.
Hello,
in our german community we discuss this problem, too. The Problem isn't the NFC antenna, it's the backcover! Some user tried with another cover from ebay: http://www.ebay.de/itm/250846706756?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 and this seems to work better!

Yup, that exactly what i considered. It's really funny, because original battery cover is making GPS works like s**t.
If that cover form ebay is really working i might consider buying it, i'll try to read original thread, thanks.
Have you tried that cover? My German isn't that great and neither is google translate. But from what i read this is really working, but i don't know how well.
im guessing NFC wont work without the stock battery cover
when did this GPS problem started?
it must be new...

Hehe. Put your NFC antenna back on. Google wallet is awesome.
Hey guys
I have my Nexus S (Blandroid + Trinity T144) tested just now, and now I only realize the GPS unit is on the right side of the phone.
Take off your cover, you should see a black, duct-tape like module pasted on almost 3/4 of the right side of Nexus S (the side where power button is located). That should be the GPS unit.
Tested with cover on, landscape with right side of the phone pointed upwards, I gained a score of 40~41 in one or two of the satellite in my view (GPS Test by Chartcross Ltd). When I test it with cover off, I gained a score of 45~47 in a few of the satellite.
Conclusion is, if you need a better GPS signal, you will need to hold it landscape with camera pointing to the left. Portrait mode will not works too well I guess. I wonder how Apple products can gain locks near instantly.
that's what i always do when i want to use GPS for navigation, pull off the battery cover.
it's almost impossible to get a fix with the battery cover on.
Humm I really wanted to delete this post but there isn't an option
Wow, i tried to get gps fix in my home without cover and it work!

Includes FREE worldwide shipping. Is this too good to be true? I'm keen to give it a shot, but can't seem to find a brand-name or anything. According to the seller its compatible with our phones, but I'm always sceptical of no-name-brand Chinese things, especially if it could damage my precious.
Don't think its branded at all. Their return policy seems pretty good. Seems as though you would only have to pay for shipping if it's not an error on their part. I assume DOA's and the thing breaking down within the warranty period would constitute as free return paid by them. Post a review if u decide to try it.
I received mine today but for some reason I only seem to get 94% charged and won't go above it... I'm still trying to find if anyone else is having this same issue but nothing at present...

Is the blue light overly bright and annoying? Are there beeping sounds? Is it easy to get it to charge, or does it only charge when placed in a certain way?
Sorry for the barrage of questions, I'm thinking of getting one of this if it works.
Placed my order. Figured its worth the risk at that price.
Unfortunately I'm in South Africa so I don't expect it to arrive in less that 2 weeks.

Because on other Qi chargers, a lot of people complained that they lose connection when knocked a centimetre off centre.

You can move it around a bit but not too much, it'll work sideways, longways, etc. and I've also got a case on without an issue.
Maybe once you remove your case, it will charge over 94%.
I am just kidding.
Considering ordering one.
Thanks.

Has anyone looked at the one labeled just "Qi Wireless Charger"?
It's white, and I don't like that, but it's completely flat, so it'd probably fit the phone better...?
Better as in, if you have to turn it around, then it'd be better, since with the large one, the casing seems to be raised at the top, whereas the standard one is completely flat, so flipping it around wouldn't really be that big of a deal.

This is not the same charger as the one being discussed in that other thread.
To repeat the OP, this is the charger discussed here:
http://www.fasttech.com/products/1197502
Mine arrived today. My early thoughts:
1.) It feels pretty cheaply made, but its a simple device and I can't really fault anything about it as far as build quality goes.
2.) The Nexus 4 has to be placed upside down for charging to take place. Bit of a shame, but no reason why you can't just use the pad itself upside down instead.
3.) Unlike the comments from another poster here, I was relieved to see my phone charge to 100% without any problems.
4.) The flashing blue LED is annoying and doesn't seem to do anything other than flash continually whether it is charging or not. I'll probably open it up and kill it, and/or simply tape over it with black tape.
All in all, pretty happy for the price paid, and glad to be able to reduce the wear and tear on the microUSB port.

Sorry, when I say "upside down", I don't mean face-down. Rather, the charging port needs to be at the top. Obviously that's where the sensor / coil lines up best with the phone; can't think of any other reason.
FYI, use the code "LAUNCH" for 5% off. Credit goes to samlikely in another thread for this.
