How can I install the bluetooth PAN User driver on my xda II, for those who wonder what is that, this is supposed to be the driver of the bluetooth NIC that should appear when you go to Settings->Connections->Network Cards, but for some reasons i can't find it on the XDA II.
Please Xda-developers if you have more info about this one tell me.
Regards,
I would love this as well as i have a Bluetooth Acess Point but of corse cant connect to it with the XDA2

O2 are aware that their BT software is not up to the mark & they are working on an upgrade - watch this forum as I'll be the first to shout when it happens...
Yeeee!
Hey Puff:
Do u have any idea when this should happen ?
I got the I-mate Does this software upgrade include me too?
Regards,
well while I was surfing the net looking for an ultimate solution that would put our endless search for a stable fully featured bluetooth stack to rest, I came acroos something very interesting. Toshiba have released a new bluetooth stack that runs on all thier toshiba pdas. Now as i read further some guys on the net were able to modify some registry settings and got it to run on HP pdas. Hell, others were able to hook thier USB bluetooth dongle to thier pdas and according to what they say it's working like a charm.
So I thought, well, if someone were able to modify the registry keys for the Toshiba software, maybe we can make it read the HTC bluetooth hardware.
Onething I would like to know is what type of hardware do HTC use as a built in bluetooth device in their Himalaya version. I mean there must be some sort of bluetooth chipset they use for the Himalaya Model. And are there any technical sheets for this bluetooth chipset.
Finally I provide u with the bluetooth software I came acroos today. Hope someone can modify it so we can use it. Software works great and seams to load without any problems, but the only problem I faced was that it would not recognise my bluetooth device, instead it was searching for a Bluetooth CF Card or the Toshiba built in Bluetooth chipset.
Unfortunately, as it says in the readme, it won't solve our most pressing issue: a decent handsfree connection.
I installed the Toshiba bluetooth stack on my I-Mate Jam and it ROCKS - it includes ALL the functionality/profiles missing in the MS stack!
...BUT...
It is unstable as hell (I have experienced all sort of "cosmetic" issues) and I am fairly sure this is due to the fact that both MS and Toshiba stacks try to use the same bluetooth hardware SIMULTANEOUSLY.
...SO...
has anyone figured how deinstall/reinstall the microsoft bluetooth stack on a Magician (I-Mate Jam, Qtek S-100, MDA Compact, XDA Mini)?

So, what "ROCKS" about it?
Always do full backup b4 installing sware.
it does what the MS BT stack does (serial port, headset, activesync), but also adds other profiles (pan, dun, obex, ftp, chat + others from memory)
i.e send files/chat with other mobile phone users, access bt pan, etc... though i am only interested in pan, chat and obex
when i fisrt played with it, i immediately saw why everyone whinges with the bt stack...
it's excellent and stable for me, didn't expierence any bugs...
dutty:
Did you get pan working ?
If so can you please let me know how?
Thanks,
Martin
I'm kinda interested ...
Can u please post a copy of that Toshiba Bluetooth stack u're using so we can all have a chance to have a look at it and maybe modify it to work on our phones
uh, just started the service, restarted the device and connected to it!
BUT, i also installed the toshiba BT stack on my workstation
I'm kinda interested ...

And just more thing ... How did u manage to get that bluetooth stack to run on xda devices since it keeps checking for external SD bluetooth cards and was not designed for internal bluetooth chips ?
Look in this thread:

Thanks for the link ....... BUT !!
I was able to download the Toshiba BT Stack v5.01 but it won't seem to work on my xda !! Everytime I tap on Bluetooth Setting (from toshiba) It says the following ' An error occurred with the Bluetooth Card. Confirm that the card is working properly.
Both my MS Stack and Widcomm Stacks are disabled and don't conflict with this new Toshiba Stack.
I was wondering how the thread owner got this BT stack running on his xda ?
It works on my XDA Mini just fine. The only problem I'm having is that it won't stay resident when you power off the device.

Sorry, another question.
In the event of a hard reset will my O2 XDA II restore the MS stack with whatever registry settings that were deleted in the process of installating the Toshiba bt stack? Will the Toshiba bt stack be totally removed in the evnet of a hard reset?
Thanks again

Cannot Accept call with button on headset.
Any more Problems ???
Please post your problems ..
Hi
i´ve tested the toshiba bt software on my MDA-Compact but haven´t got very good results. First, after installation, it seems to work good with my Royaltek RBT 3000 (GPS), but after i´ve switched off the device while an active bt connection was established with my gps software, the bt-stack broks down and the whole systems seems to be unstable. Even after a softreset the bt-software from toshiba says that they didnt recognize any bt hardware.
Now i am trying to deinstall the bt-soft and can recommend everybody who wants to test to make an backup before ;-)
I think that the software from toshiba could work, when the ms-bt-stack would be completly changed with the toshiba-stack, but doesnt work without problems when both bt-stacks are on the system.

Hey
On clubimate.com they say that the k-jam will support 802.11i in a future ROM update. Has this update been released, and if not, are we gonna ever see it? Must be another fake marketing stunt by i-mate.
I am desperate to get WPA2 (802.11i) working on our PDAs as our work place uses WPA2 encryption.
On a side note guys. I have got the Widcomm Bluetooth Stack installed on my Wizard. The bluetooth hardware is recognised, but when I turn it on I have an insufficient driver memory error. I think it may have something to do with disabling the MS Stack. Any help guys would be appreciated.
cya
okay so here goes.
i have a S200 (Prophet)
ROM: RUU_Prophet_2151327_22113102_022021_Dopod_PDAMobizEdition_v101
Radio: 1_02.20.21
Protocol: 4.1.13.9
ExtROM: 2.21.13.102
i have been trying to get my Prophet to work with a bluetooth Pan network. The PC is setup to do it but the phone has no support for it or i just cant seem to get it working. can some one plz help to to solve this problem.
Thanks
as far as I know, the prophet does not support the bluetooth pan profile
http://www.clubimate.com/t-DETAILS_JAMIN.aspx
thanks for the info.
so is there no rom for the Prophet that supports the bluetooth pan profile?
or bluetooth driver updates or a another way it can be done it can be done?
i am also having problems using active sync with my bluetooth cant seem to get it right i am still reeding some of the posts here hope fully i can sort this out soon.
It is available in AKU3.2 ROMs and I use it successfully in my car PC.
PDAMobiz_Prophet_WM5AKU3.2_v3231.exe
is this the right one ?
That one and any of the 3.2 ROMs. But note that there are problems with these ROMs including the problem that the phone won't charge over USB (you have to use the main plug-in charger).
Good luck with it.
Tried one and the phone got stuck on the boot Screen just loaded the RUU_Prophet_2090724_20907106_020720_QtekWWE_Ship.exe againe and i will try the other one againe now. Hope i get this sorted out LOL with out making a brick out of my Prophet.
GR8 the update is installed and now lets see what works and what does not work ...

Hi, I checked it again last night. I am using the AKU3.3 now, and this works too. My Bluetooth adaptor is a Belkin USB model and I am using the latest Widcomm 5.xxx.xxx drivers.
I start by using the Internet Sharing program on the Prophet, select Bluetooth PAN, the correct GPRS profile (in my case Orange Internet) and connect. Then I connect the PC using Bluetooth to the Bluetooth LAN on the Prophet.
Hope you can get it to work for you, but it may be also dependent on using a suitable Bluetooth stack in Windows.
The Widcomm drivers don't seem to work with my blue tooth adapter. so i have to use BlueSolei, or the windows drivers. the other thing is i wanted my Prophet to use my home networks internet witch is exactly the opposite of what you did in the above post, what i learned is that your bluetooth drivers must support the hosting side of the connection. The Widcomm drivers do support it but i just cant get them to work with the bluetooth device i have.
it looks like i have to buy a new bluetooth adapter if i want to get it to work....
or see if i can get the Widcomm drivers to work with my adapter.
any other way i can do this ?
Hi. Could someone confirms that Bluesoleil drivers runs ok in S200? Thanks and regards.
