How can I install the bluetooth PAN User driver on my xda II, for those who wonder what is that, this is supposed to be the driver of the bluetooth NIC that should appear when you go to Settings->Connections->Network Cards, but for some reasons i can't find it on the XDA II.
Please Xda-developers if you have more info about this one tell me.
Regards,
I would love this as well as i have a Bluetooth Acess Point but of corse cant connect to it with the XDA2
HEY CAN ANYONE HELP ?????????????????????????
I did some reasearch and heard about Bluetooth drivers for windows ce from Widcom, i was able to find a copy of this one but it turned to only work with CF bluetooth and not built-in bluetooth devices.

O2 are aware that their BT software is not up to the mark & they are working on an upgrade - watch this forum as I'll be the first to shout when it happens...
Yeeee!
Hey Puff:
Do u have any idea when this should happen ?
I got the I-mate Does this software upgrade include me too?

Hi!
This is my first topic and i hope somebody can help me...
i need the Widcomm file "BT-PPC/Phone Edition" that i think that will end all the problems with Bluetooth...
"BT-PPC/Phone Edition leverages current BTW-CE/PPC features and includes the following profiles (GAP, SDP, SPP, GOEP, OPP, FTP, SYNC, DUN, HSP, HFP & PAN).
Key features of this product:
Addition of WAN connectivity features
Implement cellular connectivity
Manage audio traffic routing to headset
Display radio signal strength (RSSI) on screen
Implement power management scheme (enable WAN connectivity while PPC is off/sleep)
Initial release OMAP platform

I allready have the BluetoothGps file but this version is not for phone edition...
If anyone have it, please share it...
Sorry my English. :?
thanks.
You're not alone
I really hope that we will see something shortly after new HP PE will hit the shelves. I really want to get my dirty hands on this unit and exctract BT stack form it ASAP.
Maybe other new ppc have the same software...? like toshiba, for exemple? :?:
My girlfriends iPaq uses the Widcomm 1.4.1 BT stack.
I don't know if I can do something to help. :?:
OK I think I have the right Widcomm BT stack, testing it now on my Qtek 2020
Please share the file if it is working. thanks in advance
I want it too!!!
I was begging for this a couple of months ago under the header "is this the answer to all our bluetooth problems?", so if anyone can produce this file, I'd be tremendously pleased!
-Bastian
I did not get it working. I can instal it but don't know how to disable/remove the original BT stack.
If someone gets it working please, let me know.

BT from iPAQ
The idea is to get a BT Stack from the Phone Edition.
Getting BT Stack from normal PPC will not resolve problem with headsets... only with accessing network... at least i would think so
I installed the Toshiba bluetooth stack on my I-Mate Jam and it ROCKS - it includes ALL the functionality/profiles missing in the MS stack!
...BUT...
It is unstable as hell (I have experienced all sort of "cosmetic" issues) and I am fairly sure this is due to the fact that both MS and Toshiba stacks try to use the same bluetooth hardware SIMULTANEOUSLY.
...SO...
has anyone figured how deinstall/reinstall the microsoft bluetooth stack on a Magician (I-Mate Jam, Qtek S-100, MDA Compact, XDA Mini)?

So, what "ROCKS" about it?
Always do full backup b4 installing sware.
it does what the MS BT stack does (serial port, headset, activesync), but also adds other profiles (pan, dun, obex, ftp, chat + others from memory)
i.e send files/chat with other mobile phone users, access bt pan, etc... though i am only interested in pan, chat and obex
when i fisrt played with it, i immediately saw why everyone whinges with the bt stack...
it's excellent and stable for me, didn't expierence any bugs...
dutty:
Did you get pan working ?
If so can you please let me know how?
Thanks,
Martin
I'm kinda interested ...
Can u please post a copy of that Toshiba Bluetooth stack u're using so we can all have a chance to have a look at it and maybe modify it to work on our phones
uh, just started the service, restarted the device and connected to it!
BUT, i also installed the toshiba BT stack on my workstation
I'm kinda interested ...
Can u please post a copy of that Toshiba Bluetooth stack u're using so we can all have a chance to have a look at it and maybe modify it to work on our phones
And just more thing ... How did u manage to get that bluetooth stack to run on xda devices since it keeps checking for external SD bluetooth cards and was not designed for internal bluetooth chips ?
Look in this thread:

Thanks for the link ....... BUT !!
I was able to download the Toshiba BT Stack v5.01 but it won't seem to work on my xda !! Everytime I tap on Bluetooth Setting (from toshiba) It says the following ' An error occurred with the Bluetooth Card. Confirm that the card is working properly.
Both my MS Stack and Widcomm Stacks are disabled and don't conflict with this new Toshiba Stack.
I was wondering how the thread owner got this BT stack running on his xda ?
It works on my XDA Mini just fine. The only problem I'm having is that it won't stay resident when you power off the device.

Got another Question ??
Will this new stack work on a Qtek2020 ? I've tried installing it on my Qtek2020 but it won't recognise my bluetooth hardware !!
Any sugestions ??? :?:

Anyone feedback in using on WM2003SE?
Thanks

Sorry, another question.
In the event of a hard reset will my O2 XDA II restore the MS stack with whatever registry settings that were deleted in the process of installating the Toshiba bt stack? Will the Toshiba bt stack be totally removed in the evnet of a hard reset?
Thanks again
yes sir
Found 2 problems.
Cannot connect when call ring.. connect then call is fine.
Cannot Accept call with button on headset.
Any more Problems ???
Please post your problems ..
Hi
i´ve tested the toshiba bt software on my MDA-Compact but haven´t got very good results. First, after installation, it seems to work good with my Royaltek RBT 3000 (GPS), but after i´ve switched off the device while an active bt connection was established with my gps software, the bt-stack broks down and the whole systems seems to be unstable. Even after a softreset the bt-software from toshiba says that they didnt recognize any bt hardware.
Now i am trying to deinstall the bt-soft and can recommend everybody who wants to test to make an backup before ;-)
I think that the software from toshiba could work, when the ms-bt-stack would be completly changed with the toshiba-stack, but doesnt work without problems when both bt-stacks are on the system.

Is there a way to workaround the fact that WM5 does not use Broadcom?
//Robert
i need widcomm drivers
WM5 uses Broadcom
You can find Broadcom stack in hx4700 with WM 5.0
i want to enable bluetooth PAN user driver
I've got a 4700 with WWE M2005 and if someone needs this stack from me then please show me how to do it.
I'm verry interested in the Widcomm stack because it works better at the moment then the MS one om my Wizard.
Cheers,
Drifter
I was under the impression that the Bluetooth stack implementation is an OEM option only. Whoever did the WM5 implementation on the Wizard (HTC?) made the decision to use M$'s bluetooth stack instead of WidComm's. As such, I don't believe it can be easily lifted...
i once installed widcomm on my Wizard and PAN network connection was enabled. i found widcomm for windows CE on the ftp of XDA uploads. now everything is deleted . if you install widcomm you get the PAN enabled under networkcards that is all i need so i could get a connection without activesync on every pc. is there anybody who can post the Widcomm for windows CE drivers on XDA please?
widcomm 1.5000
its on www.indoxda.net/index.php?nId=324
haven't tried it myself so use at your own risk
please post if it works for u I'm thinking of trying it myself
DUDE, thank u VERY much! finally someone who helps me i'll try it if my phone will be wrecked you will hear
it works partially, it can't activate bluetooth because Comm manager is already running. does anyone know how i can disable commanneger bluetooth so i can run widcomm only? you can see on the screenshots he alsol has comm disabled and he tells also :|
hmmm... "not easily lifted" isn't much of a problem to the people here . Great link galleon1388!
Btw: there's a lot of folks at TreoCentral who would like to see this work as the Treo700W BT implementation is a pos.
"Bluetooth Radio failed to turn on due to insufficient driver memory available"
Performing a normal reset doesn't help things.
I followed the directions to the letter. Can someone help here?

dude i have the same, take a look at this topic http://72.14.203.104/search?q=cache...6+widcomm+for+wm2005&hl=nl&gl=nl&ct=clnk&cd=3
if you manage to fix it PLZ tell me, i'm trying too!
hmm my audio doesn't seem to work after the widcomm :S
Same here...I cannot access the link to which you are referring...tks to the gov. of the PRC.
Guys, you will have to wait a bit longer.
Look at this thread

Seems that Widcomm is unstable under WM2005
Cheers,

not released
my audio isnt working anymore, anybody know how to fix plz????
Is it possible ?! I know it's been asked before but I hope that someone has new answers...as others, I get this error:
"The Bluetooth Radio failed to turn ON due to insufficient driver memory available. You must perform a normal reset before you can turn ON the Bluetooth Radio."
I tried everything, I even f*cked up my MS stack (which is ****ty btw).
It must be some registry setting(s) something related to the maximum memory allocated to drivers in WinMobile...
Thanks guys
up!
exaclty same problem...
trying to change bt stack because of the poor sound quality on A2DP using the MS one...
I would recommend you do some more searching. This has been tried already and nobody has been able to ever get it working on the Wizard.
I am
perhaps by "tunning" the Ms a2dp dll...
Seems that only the encoding part is bad...

Strange some peopel reported "high quality" with the Wizard A2DP. I've never managed to fine tune it to reach the quality of my other A2DP-capable PDA's. See my remarks and the hacks I've tried in my A2DP-related articles.
ok i've read your articles.
Seems everything's possible if you have a widcomm stack...
The poor guys stuck with MS one can just cry until some clever guy releases a compatible version for theire pda (S200 for me)..
I've tried almost every stacks, hard-reseted a thousand times my prophet, no one seems to work
As I'm interested by the P3600 I've sent a mail to the HTC guys just to know with which stack will it be coming....
If you have any lead...... I'll the first to explore it
I'm a developer in a french company but I don't to that kind of dev so I wiosh I could try to find a solution myself but I doubt...

Did you try disabling the MS BT stack similar to as is described in the AximSite thread? It's not done exactly the same way (because, then, the x50/x51 hack would work on these HTC devices too), "just" similar to it.

You suggest me to disable the MS bt stack "the HTC device way" and then try to install the widcomm one like on other devices?

Kinda. I really recommend the "original" AximSite thread - there, you MAY find out how the MS BT stack can be disabled so that the driver memory is freed up. (The case was the same on the Dell when we started the Widcomm project.)
backup ok!
let the tests begin !!
I'll keep in touch

I've blanked my S200
desactivated MS BT stack ==> 26mo of free ram at this point
installed the stack from axim site
same memory error...
I don't think it's a "real" memory problem but it is clear that the problem comes from the initialization part...
Just a thought but:
Dell AXIM, XDA atom, BlueAngel, ... => the devices on which the stack works have got a common caracteristic : the CPU : XScale one...
On the other side, the prophet, the magician, the wisard,... => the devices on which everything seems correct with the widcomm stack but still refuses to start it, avec an OMAP CPU...
Perhaps it's a newbie reflexion, perhaps it has nothing to do with it... but perhaps the initalization process has some CPU specific routine...
Still investigating, still newbie in the pocketPC environement :$
Sounds pretty good for a newbies speculation. I was reading about this (randomly scanning thru all topics) and wondered how much memory exactly did you gain by removing the bt stack? I dont even use BT (might get a headset, but prob not) and if its worth the memory gain, I might try to disable it myself.

i've read a lot about widcomm bt on wizard, and i found the following :
the original ms bt stack calls msusbhub dll, which means that bt in HTC devices uses usb to get connected, and the widcomm stack tries to connect to an internal serial port.
conclusion : widcomm stack can run on OMAP, but we have to write a wrapper between usb and the internal serial port.
anyone can do that ? / i am not enough experienced, in ppc development, not even in driver dev.
The Wizard contains a TI BT RF front-end no? Anyone know the part number?
