Fn + "->" key doesn't load the Connection Manag - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Hello All!
On my QTEK9000 the keyboard shortkey "Fn" + "->" key doesn't load the Connection Manager anymore after I upgraded to v1.30.68 for i-Mate.
Q1: Is these difference between i-Mate and QTEK, and i-Mate JasJar doesn't have the Comm Manager red icon on the "->" key on the physical keyboard?
Q2: Is there any hack to setup this shortcut ?
Sorry, have not found any info so far.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your answers, All!

This was a known issue with the Beta ROM. upgrade to .76

Hi ..
if you took the time to read through this forum before upgrading you should have found that by upgrading to either 4.00.16 or 4.00.21 you have no way to change the ROM except using the SD card method.
Thank you for fast response,
Could you please point me to the right document/Procedure to prepair the ROM on SD and boot from there.

Keyboard issue MDA VARIO

hi everyone, i have reflashed my mda vario with o2 uk xda mini s latest rom. everything is fine except symbols on keybord . when i use shift key , for exaple s send @ key istead of ! or d sends # key instead of @ . everythins is fine aport from it. any idea how can i fix it?
re Keyboard issue MDA VARIO
If your O2 XDA Mini S, MDA Vario or QTEK 9100 has a QWERTZ keyboard, but is behaving like a QWERTY, use the following information to re-map your keyboard to the appropriate keys.
1. Download the AE Keyboard Mapping Software
2. Connect your XDA Mini S to your computer and create a partnership with your ActiveSync software
3. Unzip the file (aekmap.zip) and run the set up file "AEKMapSetup.exe"
4. Follow the on-screen instructions until prompted to install, then click yes.
5. When prompted about ActiveSync Install Setup Feature, click "OK"
6. When asked to check your mobile device screen to see if additional steps are neccessary, click ok, and proceed to check your XDA Mini S' screen.
7. On the XDA Mini S, when asked if you would like to continue, click yes.
8. The XDA Mini S will then install your software, and open AEKeymapSettings automatically. Click the OK button located on the top right hand corner of the screen, without changing any settings.
9. Then wait 3-5 seconds until the software is sucessfully installed. Press the OK button in the top right hand corner again.
10. On your PC, copy the file "AEKmapGetLayout.aek" from the folder you unzipped in step 3, to the following location on the XDA Mini S: Program Files / AEKMap /
11. On the XDA Mini S, open the following folder: Start Menu / Programs / AEK Map Settings.
12. On the first drop down menu, select "German Wizard QWERTZ" and click "save"
13. Your device will now have a properly mapped keyboard.
Thanks for help but i dont want to change anything by application, i ment if there is any registry setting for it. its because i use o2 rom and tmobile rom has different key mapping but just for **** keys
The "AE Keyboard Mapping" just solves the Problem for the Hardwarekeyboard isn't it. The Software Keyboard still stays a QWERTY, isnt it?
Regkey
If its for the hardware keyboard the keys are:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\keyboard layout\Preload
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\keyboard layout\Preload\1
For german it should be: e0010409

After new comm mannager.cab, Unable to turn Wlan on

Hi all,
Everything was working fine, till i installed a Schap´s 6 button comm manager.cab
The new comm manager was not able to turn wifi on, but i still could do it through connections label or Battery status tray icons.
But i read that ins some cases when wifi doesent unable you can delete from the registry the key WLAN in :[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\CommManager]
So i did it... after that i am no able to turn WIFI/WLAN on
even from where i could (manually in connection label or Battery status)
I installed some comm manager.cabs to recover that key.
So now The WLAN registry key is there again there but
Wlan is not working any more.
I also read about some cases that wifi is ****ed from the rom, but i think is not my case ´cos it was just installing new cabs. and deleting that key.
I hope someone can help.
Thanks a lot

What i have to do?
Plx help me
Sry for my bad english!
Thx to all
It must be an OS problem
Try using Windows XP rather than using Vista.
I got the same problem with my XDA IIs,
I tried it in Windows XP and successfully Updated to WM 6.1
i have Windows XP no Vista
Give it a try without killing ActiveSync on PC.
1. Put device in bootloader mode
2. Put device in the cradle
3. Start update program (wait till 100% and do not remove device out the cradle)
4. When update has finished, hard reset the device
- If you have a PH20B device such as MDAIII, QTEK 9090, XDAIIs, PDA2K etc, EITHER:
Quickly press "Record" & "Camera" before the versions appear at bottom right
OR press "Power" & "Camera" & "Record" buttons and Reset at the same time
- If you have a PH20B1 device such as SX66:
Quickly press "Record" & "Windows Media" before the versions appear at bottom right EITHER
OR press "Power" & "Windows Media" & "Record" buttons and Reset at the same time
You'll see three options on screen. You must change the second and the third to yes. If you are not developing/testing software you can disable the first debug option for better performance.(“Enable KITL” must be NO, “Clean Registry Hive” must be YES, “Format Storage” must be YES)
- If you have a PH20B device such as MDAIII, QTEK 9090, XDAIIs, PDA2K etc, use "Camera" and the "Record" buttons.
- If you have a PH20B1 device such as SX66, use "Windows Media" and the "Record" buttons.
Note: The "Record" button moves up and down the menu and the "Camera" button toggles Yes/No. When you're done, press the button in the middle of the D-Pad to continue booting.
- Press the "Mail" button. A white screen will show for 30 seconds, while it is clearing your device in preparation for the new ROM to start executing
When the bootscreen, aka. the colored stripes is displayed, wait more, you are booting. The welcome screen to set up your device will appear shortly ...
(if removed earlier) Put back your SD Card before you do the setup. This way the installation from the SD will continue after you have done the setup
5. Your upgraded ROM is now running!
