does any one out there know of any app that can be used to browse files on a bluetooth device? i have got my other phone and would like to browse its contents via bluetooth, im sure i was able to do this on WM2003 but the BT manager in WM5 doesent have an explore option.
also ive found this while looking, it sends some kinda msg annoymously, guessin it changes user id or somethin as it sends.
http://www.smartphone.si/sniper/
used it a couple of times seems to work but u cant borwse files. still sending annoyomous msgs to peeps on the bus is quite ammusing!
There's alot missing in the bluetooth functionality of WM5 compared to 2003. I hate when Microsoft cut corners
yeah i no wat u mean. surley theres a proggie out there that can replicate the WM2003 BT manager? it was really handy browsin the files on my phone. i'll keep digging and post bk soon.
I looked for ages and found nothing. I'm pressuring my pal to write an app but he's really lazy.

I downloaded WebSphere Everyplace Micro Environment MIDP 2.0 so i thought it has to work...all Midlets are working now, but only Blooover can't start. If somebody is interested in this programme and can use this programm, please send me some infos what I need, too.

Same problem, doesn't work in my Atom
Any idea?
I get
"Invalid java archive"
LOL how many times does it have to be said,
Snarfing is a pipe dream !!!
most phones are protected against this kinda thing now (providing someone even has bluetooth on) and theres no garentee that you will have the address book access to get entries outa it.
besides the fact why would you want to,
i know, why dont you just randomly send text messages in random ranges of mobile numbers, its basically the same thing.
Pipedream or not, he may have his reasons.. Maybe he's targeting a specific person, with a specific phone and/or settings

CIHwBT is a Bluetooth Security Framework for Windows Mobile 2005. Currently it only support some bluetooth exploits and tools like BlueSnarf, BlueJack, and some DoS attacks. It is intended to work with any pocketpc with Microsoft Bluetooth Stack.
Let us know how it works

help
how to use CIHwBT?
your jvm has to be jsr-82 compliant to use blooover (or any other app that wants to access bluetooth via java).
That's probably the reason its not working. I have been trying to find a work around for my phone to use a midlet that requires bluetooth through java but its almost impossible to get help on it.
I found a nice program for this for some month ago. The name of the program is Bluezzard works with my qtek 9100.
Hope this helped. Im intrested in this stuff, so if someone find anything intresting about this, please post it.
Waste Of Time
Did a lot of research into BlueJacking and everything related after watching an Episode of The Real Hustle
http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcthree/programmes/real_hustle/
Pretty much led me on a wild goose chase. Discovered that these Bluejacking programs were made for the first versions of Bluetooth. The new versions of Bluetooth make the conventional methods of BlueJacking quite impossible. But I'm sure out there somewhere there is a room full of hackers out to prove me wrong.
Any one with a working BT hacking app please??
I'm new to all this stuff, so working info for newbie would be greately appreciated.
I'd really like to get this working on my phone: http://trifinite.org/trifinite_stuff_carwhisperer.html
Unfortunately we'll need to get linux to load first...

Hi all,
My first post here...
Is it possible for PCs (Windows XP) to recognise the JAM as a removable USB drive in My Computer without installing the active sync software? I could make good use of my 1GB SD card if this is possible.
Any information is much appreciated.
Thanks.
No
Unfortunately it's only possible @ WM2005 and thats not gonna work with our little machines. (Yes I'm a little pesstimistic  )
yup tried WM2005 and it works! hehehe!
One would consider certain things as 'essential' must haves- maybe a subject view.
So there's absolutely nothing that can be updated in WM2003 to allow to do this??
P.S. What devices are running the WM2005 edition?
I think you should develop some piece of software by yourself
I've searched many hours and there is no one who can make it run.
(doesn't mean it's impossible )
Well, is it really that neccessary? You can use ActiveSync on your home computer and bluetooth or IR for file exchanges on other computers (when they have a bluetooth or IR adapter). Usually, you don't have the cable with you anyway, do you? For the few cases where you still really need it, you can download ActiveSync and install it. No big deal, is it?
It will be much easier because you don't need a USB memory stick anymore. But when you use the same computers (Work, home) then it's no problem to install Activesync
Ok, i get the point - but still, you need the cable which you don't always carry with you. Also, you can use it like a (very slow) USB stick when using IR or BT.
There are 're-coiling' usb cables that fit on your keyring/pocket...
For me it's all about having one unit do many things- the JAM/Magician is very close to doing that.
I am using the Norton Commander clone called "Servant Salamander" http://www.altap.cz/
This file manager has a plugin that allows one to copy and manage files directly on the device -- very conveniently!
frax,
Would I be correct in saying that this application has to be installed on the PC for file transfer to be performed? If this is the case then using ActiveSync is the same thing no?
yep, it is more or less the same thing. I think it is actually using activesync for the interface, so that needs to be installed as well.
There's an application called Softick Card Export that allows you to do just this. www.softick.com
When you install it it puts a system icon in the bottom right of the today screen where you can select either activesync or card modes. In card mode it works just like a memory stick (with the SD card only readable).
Ive been using it for a few weeks now and it works a treat on all xp machines that I've tried - doesn't need activesync (at least not in xp) and is much quicker than copying through activesync.

I'll just confirm that. It works great! And like fishes234 says, it transfers files at USB1.0 speed. ActiveSync is so slow compared to USB1 (lol i'm not going to mention USB2)
I recommend this kit

Have you tried this

I think it is better not to give conclusion if you don't know the answer. It is just misleading. Hope you learn.
U just dont dig up old posts and write a reply to it...
I'm not the ony one that said no... at thta time the soft-tick software was not that well known so stop looking for ways to put down ppl just to make u feel better (especially looking for old posts)... And only post if u have something new to say nd not what somebody aleady said ...
More importantly why are u replying to my post which is the first reply... and not any of the consecutive ones R u Blind???

Okay, please argue using PM's or somewhere else cause this is a waste. You are being way to hostile and that's not what the rest of us here are waiting for.

So, I saw this on youtube. Looks like bluesnarfing has come a long way since I last tried! Anyway, the writing is in Spanish or something and I can't for the life of me work out what app this guy is using?!?! Any ideas?
Anyone know any good apps for Bluesnarfing/general bluetooth management? I hate the bluetooth management on the Wizard.
Looks very interesting. Most bluesnarfing utilities are generally for linux, but to find one for win CE would be pretty nifty
Although my Spanish is virtually zero 8) I have tried to follow links on give page.
I have found this: http://gospel.endorasoft.es/seguridad/Files/PocketBluesnarfer.ARM.XScale.zip. Just downloaded and going to test on my Wizard. However, the website says Win Mobile 2002-2003 so we'll see...
well, it didn't work for me Don't know if the problem lies in different BT stack in PPC2003/WM5 or something else.
Darn. Gunna give this java application a go when I get back later:
http://trifinite.org/trifinite_stuff_blooover.html
I tried bloover, but I could never get it to work. The PDA the guy was using looked like a Dell x30.
No idea what was going on in that video, those Dell PDA's are cool, friend has a 624 mhz one. Liked the music.
I use Smurf to do BlueJacking  The SmartPhone version works just fine on my Cingular 8125 (and did on my former qtek 9100). get it at http://www.gatefold.co.uk/smurf/
Maybe someone can hack this app to do full-on BlueSnarfing 8)
SkyyBoy, does this app allow you to look at other peoples documents on their phones, eg images...or is it only to message people?
it says on the web site that the app will always run in the background, is it possible to end the app by using the stop all tasks button in the settings>memory option?
I really would like more bluetooth options. I notice that it really struggles to connect to some Samsung devices.
Also, why can't we set which folder we want incoming files to be saved to (like on the Blue Angel) or to require authorization/authentication depending on which one you desire.
A remote file browser like on the Blue Angel would be lovely too. I thought the Microsoft BT stack was free to use in apps (unlike the Widcomm one whic developers had to pay to use) so people could make their own apps. C'mon people! There is a serious gap in the market for a bluesnarfing app!
I think it would have been possible with the network browser in Resco Explorer, but the bluetooth function is incompatible with the Wizard
I wouldn't expect to get those kinda results all the time to be honest.
From what I remember it was revealed that older SE phones (such as the T68i in this video) had some kinda falw in the Bluetooth Stack (??) that made them easy targets for Bluesnarfing... however I used to have one of these phones in the olden days p) and even if you find someone with one the bluetooth cannot be set to be permanatnley discoverable... you can only make it discoverable for 5 mins at a time (the amoutn of minutes may be different).
HI!
Is very satisfied with my prophet BUT where is all nice BT profiles from 2003SE?
Widcomms "Bluetooth Wizard" was way better , especially the Obex FTP profile so you could browse/send/recieve files from another phone or your computer.
Have searched everywhere. Tried all hacks and BT stacks. Like Toshiba Bcsh, Widcomms, AVE, Brainboxes etc ending up with nasty errors.
The only thing I really want is the Obex FTP stuff.
Have also searched for a Obex file browser like "Bluetooth Commander" (PalmOS) but have not found similar software for PPC
Anyone who knows what to do?
And yes, I have went through every page on XDA-developers.com!
Heeelp
Thanks in advance

hi rastamanne, i'm finding that my file transferring needs are being handled fine by the beam file menu in WM5.
You gotta use the crappy included file explorer however, i imagine most people use Rescos.
Anyway, tap and hold on file, and click beam. Working for me fine so far.
good bluesnarfing app i used on ppc 2003.. the source code is there also..thanks
what exactly does this program do? it sounds like a BTCrawler type of app.. not telling us what it is makes me hesitant to try it...scary!
