Did anyone find a solution to tweaking the default input? - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 General

I know the old way of choosing your own default input method doesn't work anymore in WM5. Has anyone found a solution to this? I don't even think the tweak 2002 software works.

dont know, but i installed resco keyboad, and it is possible to set that as default, so there must be a way!

I don't have resco keyboard, but do you set it from resco, or do you have to do a registry change?

there is just a 'set default' in resco

Try SKTools (from SKSoftware)

What does SKtools do? I thought it's a today plugin. Can you tweak for the default input?

Nope, its not a today plugin.
It has various functions like cleaning your system, tweaking settings and so on.

***JASJAR Keyboard Backlight***

Is there a way to keep my JASJAR keyboard backlight on permanantly whilst it is open? Keeps going off after 10 seconds or so, but I want it on permanantly cos it looks cool in my Brodit cradle at night.
Our trusted reseller MadMonkeyBoy has this registry hack easily available as a CAB file on this page:

Would be better if you could turn it on/off with a button - any ideas

I tried this on my Qtek 9100 (the same tip exist for k-jam/wizard) but it doesn't work! Any ideas??
Tried it on a 9100 and it works for me. Did you do a reset after you changed the settings? Also what apps are you running and I can do some work on it for you.

Yes, I did soft reset it several times...
I'm running Pocket Plus, besides that here is the content of my Startup folder:
poutlook.lnk
sddaemon.lnk
CapNotify.lnk
Init_Tray.llnk
Services.lnk
spb GPRS Notify.lnk
PQz.exe
PS. I'm running Swedish version of Wm5.

Has anybody PQz up and running on the Wizard

Hi,
i want to use PQz which can remap some keys of the HW keyboard to be CTRL or ALT. So CTRL-C and CTRL-V as on the big brother - PC - is able.
Unfortunatly i get an error message after starting PQz:
Keyboard Hook failed
At first i thought that is Cap-Notify causing the problems and have renamed it from the autostart folder. But it seems that this is not the problem.
Has anybody the progi up and running? For a complete installed prog list of my device see below.
Here are the links to PQz:
http://www.nicque.com/PQz/DOC/index_e.htm

Yes it works for me on my Qtek 9100 with PQz not PQzII unfortunatly.
Have you try to install PQz after a hard reset to see if you have the same message with no other apps install. If not try after to install one app after another to see the one who is hooking the keyboard.
No problems here using PQZII on my 8125 with the 2.17 ROM.

I have tried PQy II only. I have deactivated all "critical" apps (Magicbutton, Smallmenu, Smartskey, Capsnotify etc.) to see if this has an impact on PQz2 - but it worked not at all :x
What error message did you get during using PQzII. The same as mine?
I will give PQz one a try
I have solved the problems:
It was PocketBreeze. I have checked the option: only PocketBreeze uses DPAD in the general settings section. After unchecking it, PQz2 works like a charm.
Use with CapsNotify?

Wow! Good catch! Saved me some trouble. (Mine wasn't bombing but D-Pad was inoperable)
Here's another issue. It seems to mess up the CapsNotify tweak. A little square shows up instead of the dot or the circle. Anyone find a setting that takes care of that?

Registry Settings for Hermes

Is there existing or how hard would it be to compile a list of the standard registry settings for a hermes?
What would be the best way to find out what they all do? is it a case of changing the values and see what it does?
I realise its a monster task but something I would like.
Read the Wiki.. There are some hermes registry tweaks, but most of standard WM5 tweaks also works on hermes - they are also in Wiki..

Hello! I have the english version of the X1, but until now, I have been able to use the àü-button, to make the danish special-letters; æ, ø, å...
But now, nothing happens when I try.. Have anyone an idea why..? It would be a great help, because I use the three letters a lot..

Did you install any keybord app, or anything prior to this happening?
sounds like an issue of keybord no being able to find the dictionary.

more like a case of installing a keyboard app that overrides the DLL registry that points to the DLL that provide such key functions.

Yes it could. I've tried to find a usable keypad to use for onehanded sms but each time I installed one, I lost my easy access to my special letters (æøå). I have a english version bought in Norway.

try my raphael keyboard
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=450021
Thanks, but i wasn't looking for a qwerty-keyboard. I was looking for a simple phone-keypad for use in portrait for quick sms. Whenever I found one and installed I lost my letters.
Uninstall Touch HD keyboard
Hi,
Had the exact same problem with my danish bought (english version) x1, but i uninstalled the touch HD keyboard, restarted X1, and it was back to normal. Its caused by an overwrite of the original keyboard dll. Explained in detail in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=447989&page=2
I hope someone is able to figure out a way for us to keep our au-key functionality in combination with the Touch HD keyboard, as it would be nice to have a one handed option.
regards
is it posible to copy the .dll
then install the hd keyboard.
then place the copy's .dll back
???

this won't work.
first of all, the DLL, is defined in the registry (I could have mispelled the registry path because this is off my memory)
ImeFile in \hklm\system\currentcontrolset\controlpanel\layouts\e0010409 (or a locale based on your ROM language)
So the default value of the registry is "Compime.dll"
when you install the HD keyboard CAB, it's the registry that gets overwritten ("T9ime.dll"), not the file. So keeping a copy of the DLL and recopy wouldn't help, since practically no files has been replaced except the registry.
You can retain the ascent key, etc though by reverting the registry to "CompIme.dll" after the HD cab installation. However, doing so is at the expense of HTC HD's own implementation of word completion and T9 function (so it renders T9 phone pad and compact qwerty SIP useless)
so if i would like to use the compact keypad of the HD without the T9 and word completion.
then i could change this and i would have this keypad and the au key funtioning?

well my raphael keyboard should not (i'm not sure as my x1 is at repair) but other stated this. and there is a keypad for portrait and sms with t9 support in it, and if im not wrong the hardware keyboard should have autocomplete in it. and as aplus the letters are bigger than the touch hd's
I have just installed the Touch Pro peypad-package, and it works very fine.. But again - I can not use the danish letters..
Is it not possible to get such a keypad-package and still be able to use special letters..? That would be really great..

in system, settings, input, advanced choose danish layout, then T9 should be right.
au key, let me work on it, seems like making a cab for x1 special letter should be worked on.

dude, we talking about the ascent key, not the symbol key... I don't have problem with symbol key if I installed the Touchstone QWERTY keyboard SIP.
I don't think you can fix this problem (it's a side effect of trying to install another device's keyboard IME) but I would be more than happy to eat humble pie and be proven wrong

Hi
I can recommend http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=584423 In this servicepack, you will find een regeditor.
After installation of this servicepack you will notice a huge improvent of our beloved HTC
cheers, i'll give it a go
Cheers for the reply.
Which of the download links do i need? They all look like European languages. I need the English version.
Is PHM reg editor any good?
You will need the WWE version, its in post 1. PNH is a good registry programm
Reg editors
Yes PHM is good,
but it is very dinky editing with it on the device.
I use CeRegEditor which is free from mdsoft.pl
This way I can edit the device from my pc desktop, much easier and more options.
