Hi, I've got an Xda IIs and i'm thinking about introducing acouple into my workplace, but i was wondering if it is possible to sync them with the exchange server here..
What i'd be wanting to do, is to log in either via gprs or a wi-fi hotspot, connect thru a vpn connection to our local network, and be able to change diary entries, access email, etc. on our exchange server.
Has anyone been able to do this?
How is it done?
Works beautifully for mail, diary, and contacts.
Connect your XDA to your desktop then got to activesync.
Options
Check "Enable Sync with server"
"Configure"
Setup synced data as required
then click "connection" fill out all fields.
Remember that if you are using ssl you will need to install the appropriate certificate on each XDA.
Cheers,
M.
PS Server Sync works over WLAN/BT PAN/Activesycn/and GPRS
Fantastic! Thanks!
Just wondering now, I suppose I have to run activesync on a non-NAT IP computer - ie one of our servers, yes? (for a/s via GPRS to work)
so... how does that work? forgive my newbieness... I've only ever a/s'ed via my usb cradle....
no, when you do server syncing, the exchange server 2003! speaks OMA (outlook mobile sync) an http connection to your mda/xda.
cool - thanks. One last thing - the calender that will be syncing is NOT the user's calendar, but a public calendar. can A/S sync this instead of the user's calendar?
EDIT: and we use exchange 5.5 - does outlook mobile sync work with that?
just wondering if anyone has had any luck with this.. it has been about 4 months... thought there might have been some new software that would do it...
I have had an SPV M2000 for a week and Iam very impressed.
However I cannott seem to get active sync (USB) to my PC and active sync to my companies outlook server via Orange GPRS to coexist (I am not using pop protocol but over the internet to a HTTP address).
When I do a manual sync via GPRS (I have to go into server in the activesync app and tick inbox) Iam informed that my outlook inbox will need to be refreshed (not quite these words), which is what happens.
When Iam back by my PC I have to switch of server sync to get the USB sync to work again and so on.
Both methods work well independantly and I cant see a way of setting up different accounts.
I have spoken to orange and they said only pop syncing was supported.
I am sure that Iam missing something here ?
thanks

Ok, I finally managed to get access to my companies exchange server via activesync, just like clubimate e-mail. It syncs my calender, contact & inbox via the server and task and notes via the pc.
Now if I connect my Jam to my pc with USB, it syncs task and notes, and gives me error when syncing outbox, calender & contacs which goes something like this "your proxy server is not compatible with your phone'.
Now Internet Explorer connect fine to the web via USB and activesync connects fine when using GPRS. Now how do I get my phone to sync both pc and server via USB or even BT? I don't want to use my GPRS the whole day if I can use the company internet connection.
Hi there, I have an i-mate JasJam and it's been working beautifully. The problem I have is that I can't get my PDA Tasks to synch with my Outlook Task on the office Exchange Server. Emails, Calendar, Contacts work perfectly.
i-mate support said we can't sync Tasks, but I find this unbelievable.
FYI, my Activesync connects to my offices web server, has the SSL box ticked, and uses 3G. The TASK box is also checked in the 'Configure Server' settings.
Any help will be appreciated.
Trying to sync to both exchange server & laptop (via bluetooth) at the same time - no
I am trying to sync to my laptop via bluetooth. I also have activesync setup to sync with my work's exchange server. I have to disable (uncheck) exchange server options if I want to sync with my laptop. I'm sure there is a way that I can do both without having disable/turn off the other. Does anyone know how?
