activesync over the Internet to an Outlook server - Networking

I have had an SPV M2000 for a week and Iam very impressed.
However I cannott seem to get active sync (USB) to my PC and active sync to my companies outlook server via Orange GPRS to coexist (I am not using pop protocol but over the internet to a HTTP address).
When I do a manual sync via GPRS (I have to go into server in the activesync app and tick inbox) Iam informed that my outlook inbox will need to be refreshed (not quite these words), which is what happens.
When Iam back by my PC I have to switch of server sync to get the USB sync to work again and so on.
Both methods work well independantly and I cant see a way of setting up different accounts.
I have spoken to orange and they said only pop syncing was supported.
I am sure that Iam missing something here ?
thanks

sync diary etc with exchange server

Hi, I've got an Xda IIs and i'm thinking about introducing acouple into my workplace, but i was wondering if it is possible to sync them with the exchange server here..
What i'd be wanting to do, is to log in either via gprs or a wi-fi hotspot, connect thru a vpn connection to our local network, and be able to change diary entries, access email, etc. on our exchange server.
Has anyone been able to do this?
How is it done?
Works beautifully for mail, diary, and contacts.
Connect your XDA to your desktop then got to activesync.
Options
Check "Enable Sync with server"
"Configure"
Setup synced data as required
then click "connection" fill out all fields.
Remember that if you are using ssl you will need to install the appropriate certificate on each XDA.
Cheers,
M.
PS Server Sync works over WLAN/BT PAN/Activesycn/and GPRS
Fantastic! Thanks!
Just wondering now, I suppose I have to run activesync on a non-NAT IP computer - ie one of our servers, yes? (for a/s via GPRS to work)
so... how does that work? forgive my newbieness... I've only ever a/s'ed via my usb cradle....
no, when you do server syncing, the exchange server 2003! speaks OMA (outlook mobile sync) an http connection to your mda/xda.
cool - thanks. One last thing - the calender that will be syncing is NOT the user's calendar, but a public calendar. can A/S sync this instead of the user's calendar?
EDIT: and we use exchange 5.5 - does outlook mobile sync work with that?
just wondering if anyone has had any luck with this.. it has been about 4 months... thought there might have been some new software that would do it...

Activesync via server Help Needed

Ok, I finally managed to get access to my companies exchange server via activesync, just like clubimate e-mail. It syncs my calender, contact & inbox via the server and task and notes via the pc.
Now if I connect my Jam to my pc with USB, it syncs task and notes, and gives me error when syncing outbox, calender & contacs which goes something like this "your proxy server is not compatible with your phone'.
Now Internet Explorer connect fine to the web via USB and activesync connects fine when using GPRS. Now how do I get my phone to sync both pc and server via USB or even BT? I don't want to use my GPRS the whole day if I can use the company internet connection.

OTA Activesync

Greetings, newbie here.. Just got my Cingular 8125 last week, and i've been trying to figure out how to used OTA Activesync over GPRS/EDGE with my laptop.. Is there any feasable way do do this?
I usually have a couple programs open on the 8125, Agile msgr, a RSS reader, weather apps, etc.. a lot of stuff that checks over GPRS/EDGE for updates etc.. but everytime i sync via USB with my laptop and Activesync, it hoses my GPRS/EDGE connection because of it having to use my laptop's network connection.
I'd like to sync with the laptop over GPRS/EDGE if possible.. if there's a app I need to purchase or whatever that's fine.. I'm running WinXPPro on the Laptop.. and WM5 on the 8125 of course..
As of 4.0, ActiveSync won't sync OTA. I think the only exception to this is if you're synching with an Exchange server. Only thing I've been able to find that will give me OTA sync is WebIS's Plaxo sync and, right now, that only syncs contacts. Check out their page for WebIS Mobile Sync
The only thing I can think of is installing kerio mail server. This acts as a mailserver and I succesfully synced my windows mobile with it. The only thing is that you need to configure your own mail server and thats not totaly what you are looking for...

Activesync Exchnage 2003/desktop

Ok I have searched but cant seem to find the answer, it is probable something small and stupid I have over looked. Iam syncing to the desktop and exchange 2003 via usb on a TYTN 2. The problem is that I cannot sync with the server unless I change the server setting to the local network server name when using USB. Then it syncs fine how ever I have to change the setting back to the OWA name for my device to sync via pushmail i.e. webmail.servername. Is this normal or have I missed something somewhere?

I had the same issue. I resolved it by setting up the proxy in the phone to match that of my company network and then it synced fine with the OWA instead of the local network server name.
Thanks I got it working.
