I use my Cingular 8125 as my business phone. I would love to be able to integrate it with my Outlook Desktop to have Outlook actually dial the phone when I need to make a call.
Is anyone aware of a utility to do this?
Thanks!

Never tried it, but Bluetooth PC Dialer might be useful.

Hi, I use the Jeyo Mobile Extender since a year
http://www.jeyo.com/
Works like a charme
Pocket Controller is another option, lets you control you phone etc. from your PC, a bit like doing a remote desktop connection. You can type and send texts, initiate calls etc. in fact just about anything you would normally do with the phone in your hand

Is it now possible to synchronise subfolders of your SMS account? The versions I tested did not offer this, which is ridiculous.
With the Universal plugged into my PC most of the day it would be nice to be able to bash out SMS messages on the PC and send them thru the Universal. Is there an app somewhere that allows you to do that?
Thanks

Yes, Jeyo mobile extender, it integrates with outlook as another account. www.jeyo.com
There is also an ms outlook addin that will allow sending sms via a phone sync'd to outlook. See ms downloads.
Thanks guys.

Just tried the MS OUtlook addin - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...B4-986E-4AFB-AB21-3AF2BE63508B&displaylang=en
Doesn't see the phone. Looks like you have to set it up as a modem.

I am a former Palm user. For me, one of the best features of Palm was the simplicity of the desktop software. Now that I am on PPC, I don't want to give up simplicity of Palm desktop software. Plus I HATE using outlook.
Is it possible to sync a PPC with Palm desktop software?
i used to be a palm user since Palm III and really liked the palm desktop for its simplicity. now im using mda vario (my first ppc), i have no choice but to use outlook as my calendar program. first thing, i need to export my data to outlook, but dont want to convert it to text and manually adjust it for outlook during conversion. i used airset sync program (www.airset.com) to sync my palm to web-based, then web-based to outlook.
you can use this program to:
1st. sync palm desktop and web-based (airset)
2nd. sync web-based (airset) and outlook
3rd. sync outlook and handheld/pda/phone using activesync
there are some drawbacks. you might be iritated when sync'ing to both outlook and palm desktop because when you want to switch, you have to change the settings manually on the airset sync. im not sure if its possible to install a 2nd copy of airset sync so you can just use the 2 airset sync for both palm desktop and outlook. or maybe you can manually copy the program from program files folder.
another (big) drawback is airset syncs calendar and contacts only. so i guess it may not be the program you are looking. my point here is, maybe others will find it useful. my only use for this was to export my contacts and calendar (one-time use) and have to live using outlook.
is this cr1t1c4l the ****er who hacked the exegene forum? what's the fun of it? :?
I bought the Cingular 8525 mainly as a PIM, and I have been very disappointed in the outlook calendar. I rely heavily on scheduling both at work and personal life, and the syncing of data between the phone and outlook 2003 is the worst. I've tried all the supposed fixes and still have problems. The first problem I had was how outlook would make each entry into a two day event. The microsoft fix help somewhat, but there are still problems. Now if I enter appointments on the PC, it doesn't show up on the device. I should have stuck with the Palm!
Did anyone get the tzmove.exe program to work? I didn't get the dialog box. microsoft programs are crap.
Hi,
A friend of mine has an 8125 and he can dial directly from Outlook (Calendar, Tasks, Email). Outlook for some reasons interprets numbers as telephone number and underlines it, so he can click on it and dial the number directly. On my 8525 I see this capability in emails, but not in calendar, where I really needed it. Whenever I have a phone number in a calendar appointment or task its not underlined and I have to copy and paste it into the phone application. Very cumbersome.
Is there a setting on the phone that automatically interprets the numbers in the calendar and underlines it for direct dial out capbilities, or is that something that needs to be setup on the Outlook server?
BTW this applies to appointments made on the laptop as well as on the phone.
Thanks for any help.
looked into this a long time ago and did not find a solution...WM for the PDA doesn't seem to have this feature. WM for Smartphones has the feature (my previous phone was a 2125 and it worked great). Of course, your friend's 8125 should be running the PDA version, so that provides some hope....
perhaps someone will enlighten as to why, or if there has been a fix...but I miss the same feature.
