Putting back CID lock. - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

I've heard that there is possibility to put back CID lock (after unlocking by aWizard). How can I do this? Is there possibility to not loose warranty (when I back up the whole roms and put back CID lock)? Can service look out unlocking CID, after putting back CID lock by aWizard?

Hi - could you tell us which rom you have and which version of lockiwiz you used. With lockiwiz 0.2b there is a lock option 'L' - run lockiwiz.bat and choose this option

I think that lokwiz is for simlock and aWizard is for CID lock.

Yes you are right L option is for locking sim.
You can restore cid by restoring the lock_backup.bin file that was created during the unlock process.
to do that see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/vie...postorder=asc&highlight=cid+locking&start=400
look for britman's post.
Hard reset will not restore cid.

Thanks a lot, this is what I've been looking for .

Restore CID Lock

Hello,
I'm trying to find a solution for my problem. I've searched the whole xda developers forum but I can't find an answer.
I've unlocked (and unlocked the CID) my T-Mobile MDA Vario with Lokiwiz, how can I put the CID lock back on my Vario. I need to send my phone in with a problem. Anyone who has an answer?
Thank you in advance.
Roy
I've read that cid restors automatically when you install backed-up rom with CIDlock, but I'm not sure when it comes to it and I'm also looking for sb who can prove it [;.
I've sent my phone to HTC for repair without doing anything to CID lock it. I did a hard reset though. I guess it locked itself up upon hardreset or the HTC people just don't borther if it is CID lock or not.
I am thinking about polish mobile operator - orange an its warranty and I know that he cares about cid lock.
Anyway, are you sure, that after hard-reset CIDlock comes back?

Just copy the 2 cab files into your PDA and run them. They will dissapear after you run them.
Then run enablerapi.bat. After a couple of minutes there you are! the code is there! Take note of it!
Insert a Sim card from another operator. When it asks for the unlock code, put it there! And it's done...CID unlocked G4 model.
Cheers
SIM unlock, NOT a CID!
you sim unlocked the phone not the CID! CID lock is entirely different from SIM Lock..

But since he just removed a sim lock, how on earth did he manage to flash his prophet with new rom???
Because of the 'NoVendor-ID'.
I did exactly the same. It's no problem.

Why should I unlock CID?

sorry about the dumb question but why would one unlock CID?
Besides, the fact that I dont know what CID really is, I am not able to find the answer to the need/advantage of an unlocked CID.
If I purchase a SIM unlocked phone from any third party vendor (not form a Phone provide under a year's contract) I am able to flush the ROM (such as the GPS enable HTC ROM) as I like, correct?
So, why the need to unlock this CID? Is this procedure only necessary for phones sold through a provider or in order to flash with ROM releases from Dopod, O2 or any other then HTC directly?
Thanks for any explanation!
SIM unlocking is different from CID unlocking.
SIM unlocking lets you put a sim card from any phone company in.
CID unlocking lets you put any ROM on that you want because your phone is not looking for specific security codes to authenticate the ROM as official or genuine.
Just because the phone is SIM free, doesnt mean it's CID unlocked.
Actually CID unlocking only lets you install signed ROMs from other vendors than the one you originally bought your device from.
Des developed SSPL which allows you to do the same, and even flash unsigned (cooked) roms, you can also use CustomRUU which automatically pushes Des SSPL on your phone for you before flashing the ROM or use HardSPL (which is SSPL but flashed into the phone).
This means nowadays you can flash any ROM without the need to CID unlock your device, and retaining your original CID keeps the warranty, so there's no real need to CID unlock your Trinity anymore.

thank you very much for the explanation!
I am still not understanding everything (Des SSPL, HardSPL, etc) but apparently I am not really required to unlock CID, since I am planing on keeping the warranty alive and only use official HTC ROM's.
Thank you!

How to restore a Simlock

I have a tytn and I used the pof application to unlock the simlock?
For purposes I won't get into, I need to restore the simlock. It was originally with Rogers. I have already restore the ROM, not the radio, and have yet to downgrade the SPL/IPL but will do so after I am satisfied with the restoration.
Thanks
unless I missed something on pof's thread, once u sim unlock then it's always unlocked.
I actually don't see it posted anywhere if it is possible to reverse the sim unlock for warranty purposes...

[Q] Confused - does using uspl1.11cmon, CID unlock during the process?

Hi there,
I want to update my O2 XDA Orbit 1 to AndreW82_WM6.1_21056_Lite_v1.4_WWE so that I can install Tom Tom 7.
I have never used a cooked rom before.
A lot of the articles I have read seem to have been superceded by newer developments and I am finding it hard to confirm the exact process.
From what I can gather, I should take out my SDHC card, run uspl1.11cmon and then use the rom updater app with the AndreW82_WM6.1_21056_Lite_v1.4_WWE rom.
Is this correct. Do I need to CID unlock first, or does the uspl1.11cmon cover this?
Thanks for your help.

Those having questions on flashing (i.e. updating) their HTC Artemis could try following these steps 1) Backup e.g. PIM Backup 2) disable standby and hibernation then remove SIM & SDHC cards 3) if necessary then cid unlock 4) recommend hard reset or update to the latest official build 5) if necessary Update SPL to latest 1.11.cmon 6) flash new rom then hard reset 7) put in SIM & SDHC cards and enjoy the result of the hard work by the developer
Also check out this thread Uspl/rom upgrade/tips&tricks
Cheers
