Hi,
Im new to the forum and just yes'day i got a T-Mobile MDA.
Here in this forum, all r talking about registry tweak.
How to edit registry?
Grab this free registry editor...
http://www.pdagold.com/software/detail.asp?s=11
Not [email protected]
As u said, i downloaded te PHM Registry editor as a .msi file.
Executed that in my workstation and nothing happened in the MDA?
Do i need to do anything to install this in the MDA..??
Use this cab it will be alot easier - just copy to device and click on it in file explorer.
I have used Total Commander for Registry Editing and more.
Wi-Fi..
Thankx. Finally i made the change for Wi-fi G tweak.
But still not able to connect to Wireless Lan? Anybody has any step by step instructions..??
Thankx

It will probably be easier to run the attached cab file. It makes the necessary modifications to enable wireless G. Just copy the cab to your device, run it, then reset.

I bet you didn't have ActiveSync installed at the time. If you did, it would have prompted you that the program will install on your MDA the next time you plugged it in. Anyway, just remember that the next time you do a PC -> MDA install rather than a direct Cab install.
Wi-fi worked..
Finally Wi-Fi worked. I did the registry change for Wireless G. The problem is I had WPA2-PSK authentication enabled in my router. For some reason MDA failed to connect to the router. Then i opened the wireless with No security except MAC. Now it WORKED. To edit registry i used Mobile registry editor.

See details and installation instructions in readme.txt (from attached zip-archive).
Requirements: HTC Magician with ROM Version 12 or 13.
After Install, use "Bluetooth Switch" utility (Start->Programs->Bluetooth Switch) to switch between Microsoft drivers and Bluesoleil Drivers.
You can install drivers BCHS_FOR_POCKET_PC_OZONE.ARMV4.CAB and switch between these drivers and Bluesoleil Drivers (using "Bluetooth Switch" utility)!
Whats new in release:
1) more simple install/uninstall process.
2) now you can choose installation directory (in main memory)
3) "Bluetooth Switch" utility has improved (in many cases soft reset not required).
4) No evaluation period!

Sorry bat I've no understand if I must install BCHS_FOR_POCKET_PC_OZONE.ARMV4.CAB before install bluesoleil or it's not necessary... In the first option where I can found this file? Thanks in advance..

Yes. When we switch stack to Microsoft, switcher move shortcut from Startup folder to Windows folder and vice versa.
& also bug , when i`ve used pan, then i can`t use gprs, so it needs add registry fixing gprs in this case, i think.

This is Bluesoleil drivers bug and cannot be fixed simply.
I just repack original CAB file and write switch utility.
You can add registry fixing gprs, but in this case you cannot Map Drives from WindowsXP PC using Resco Exolorer.
I have tried it be4 u updated the shortcut... and I had to hard-reset my JAM..
I'll give it another try tomorrow.
any way, my questions is... after the installation.. will I be able to send files from the file explorer.. not from the program it self??
I believe Resco FE is not meant to work with this stack, or Am I wrong?
thanks for your effort
I have read the whole thread about the Bluesoil BT stack. Some say it works, its better and others disagree. So what's really the story about this stack?
What's the difference 'tween the bluesoil schtach and this one?

Bluesoleil drivers support PAN-profile, but not support A2DP profile.
You can use both drivers using Bluetooth Switch utility.

Hi,
Just an util I got together in no time.
Rapi Enabler, certificate disabler.
Enable all the security on your Windows Mobile 5 phone.
Credits to the author of the ce remote tools.
Instructions:
1. Download the attached file (you have to be logged into xda-dev);
2. Extract it somewhere in your computer
3. Connect your phone via activesync
4. Run the EnableRapi.bat (on your computer)
5. Done.
Have fun,
Ricardo
How does it differ from this CAB file I pulled off the HTC Apache?
I use this in my Extended ROM so that I can run unsigned applications, CAB files, and CPF files during the initialization procedure after a hard reset.
Hi BTT,
This is based on that exact cab. The only difference in enabling RAPI calls also, and doing it without needing user interaction, only needing a activesync connection.
Is a little utility I use for integration into batch files.
Bye,
Ricardo
Certificate disabler..
Probably a dumb question, but is it a replacement fort certchk on 2003 devices? Still looking for such a program.
Thx
Thanks Machinegod, this worked well. I used it on an XDA exec will it work with all WM5 devices?
Hi Machinagod
Is there a way i can call your routine from code?
I have developed software for WM5 but cannot access the database with the standard MS settings. I would like to give my users the option to unlock the rapi calls and install automatically.
Thanks in advance
Steve

to ronaldovic: I believe this utility is for disabling signed applications so you can install apps that have not been signed. I have used BTT cert cab in my extended rom since he posted it (Thanks BTT, It has been very usefull)
If you are looking for disable cert check so you can activesync with MS exchange without a a SSL . Certificate connection, Micro$oft still offers a download to disable the cert sync check..

Miracle Registry
i checked many registry of "Security policies" in different device, and also SDK.
http://asukal.seesaa.net/article/12583144.html
You can understand how change it for your neccesity.
this was for your refference.
and also i got made one registry file which has many "Certificate Sotre"
from different setting devicees and CABs and SDK Emu.
This registry make your device to enable working many kinds of dll and exe or any other files without digital signed(not for all)
multi user interface files also can effect without digital signatures.
(shellress still can not, but worked with Smartphone signature)
The security revel will be same or lower than SDK emu.
but not completely finish to edit it.
so possibility of some side-effect or unkown problem.
Hope understand this point and use it as test.
But once you use this registry, you got understand why i said it miracle.
just import this registry and make soft reset.
"syntac error" displayed when you import this, but works.i will cheking the reason of this error.
lets test it.

Hi,
I've got an Orange M500, upgraded with the Imate ROM 1.12.00WWE - ever since I upgraded the ROM, I can connect to my Orange GPRS service fine, however, if I disconnect then try to reconnect again, the connection fails. I have to turn on flight mode, then turn on the radio again in order to get GPRS access.
I've tried upgrading to Radio 1.13.00, but still no joy.
Any ideas?
Mine does that and I have the original ROM. A bit of a pain isn't it.
Here's the fix
This was originally posted by Peter for the imate JAM.
I just installed it and it's working like a charm.
1. Download the older version of caller-id from:
ftp://xda:[email protected]/BlueAngel/CAB_Files/Caller ID/IA_CallerID_1.20_WWE.CAB
and transfer it over to your device. Any directory is Ok. I used ActiveSync to put it into the My Documents folder.
2. Remove the file IA_CD-Startup.exe from \Windows\Startup on your device.
3. Rename iacontacts.dll to something else (e.g. old-iacontacts.dll). This file is in the \Windows directory of your device but is hidden. However you can rename it using your PC. Open Windows explorer, and navigate to Mobile Device>My PocketPC>Windows.
4. Rename displayCID.dll to something else (e.g. old-displayCID.dll). Access it via your PC the same as for the previous step.
5. Soft reset
6. Run the CAB file on the device - just tap on it.
7. Soft reset.
That should do it.
I have the same GPRS problem too. However, the link you provided just asked for the password to access that ftp. Hey, acs540, do you know the password or do you have that CAB file? Thanks in advance.
usernameassword is xda:xda
The fix in this post seems to refer to caller id!?! I too get the gprs connection problem and have made it better with different roms but not found a sure-fire fix.
If anyone has a patch that fixes this, please post it!
GPRS now working
Hi,
Finally I tried, or at least halfway, After I removed the CallerID everyone is talking about my Qtek9090 now works flawless regarding GPRS.
This is very interesting that Caller ID software makes GPRS not working
Anyway, now I can start and stop GPRS several times, I have now toggled it 10 times without any problem.
Before I had to reset/toggle radio to make it reconnect after a disconnect.
Thank you all that has investigated this problem!
One last thing, Do you really need CallerID?

I don't use Caller_ID, but Photo Contacts Pro.
Did you also try to change GPRS slot (Class 8 or Class 10) in GPRS settings?

Hello!
I am looking for the cab file (if there exist any extracted one) that is found in most of the WM5 and WM6 OS. It is the Internet Sharing program that lets you connect your PC using USB to the internet. I have searched everywhere but could not find it. I did find the Vista drivers though but I cannot use the internet sharing without first activating it on the mobile phone. This is for a HP 6315 that has WM2003.

I don't have a CAB file but I extracted this from an HTC Universal ROM. Just copy and paste this file in the Windows folder, then create a shortcut icon in Windows>Start Menu>Programs.
---
I will try it today after work and let you know if it works in WM2003. Thanks!

My PDA (iPAQ 1940, wm2003) told me it's not a pocket pc valid application
And i think it's not a w32 application...
I'm searching for a way to simplify the connection between my PPC and my UBUNTU laptop...
And wm2003 doesn't have a native program to do that
Thanks
internet sharing will only work with WM5 not WM2003, which is the reason your ppc says that it is not a invalid ppc application
Internet connection sharing is a new feature of wm5 networking. It wont work on devices with previous os.
The error that it gave you is because of the fact that it's compiled for a target CPU that is different from yours.
I would very much like to get a utility that can work in windows mobile 2003, with similar features of internet sharing in wm5 or wm6, so that I can share the internet connection of my ppc in my laptop while I can still receive phone calls and text messages. Can anyone develop such a tool?
Ok, i understand...
I have to try out other roads to share my internet connection from ubuntu to my pda
Tnx to all!
I will try the programe for my FS LOOX T830. Thanks
I don't have any.I will try to apply that.
cedit does not work for my windows 7 + hd2 combination..
anyone know of a working freeware?
ceregistry editor. don't forget on first time connection to click "tools - unlock registry"else it won't let you make changes
I used mobile registry editor 1.1 and it was fine. (doesn't seem to have a find or export feature, I could be wrong.)
CeRegEditor <--- and whatever the latest version of that is, snag that.
It's the easiest to use on any desktop PC.
Otherwise, try Resco Registry Editor on your device, or MemMaid, or even the file editor from SPB.

describe the problem please? cos if it simply saying it can't make changes, sees my earlier post about unlocking the registry.
Works fine on Winows 7
it doesnt show anything.. i cant see HKLM etc etc even with the unlock .. where is the latest ver? could it be it? is there anything additional i need to do?
I assume that you connect via activesync first!!
And then click the connect button (or hit F1)
Hi,
did you try to rightclick on icon and "run as Administrator" ?
Ok guys kinda new here but I reg edit for the pc a lot. I cant seem to get the program to work. In my active sync it says its connected and when I get ready to unlock the registry via the program its says it cant load the program on my device.
