tapiRequestMakeCall taking too much time to dial - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Hi All,
I am making an application to detect outbound calls and in case of specific number I disconnect the call and then make a new call using tapiRequestMakeCall.... I wait till the status get idle before making the new call but it takes about 12 seconds before connecting to server. If I make a simple application just calling tapiRequestMakeCall on the same number it takes 2 seconds... Emulator doesnt seem to have this problem...
I would be really thankful to anyone who helps me on this....
I would be posting the exact code in case any one feels like helpin me out
regards

Names look up

I currently use Kyocera QCP6035 smartphone. In my phone book I have over 1000 contacts. Every time the phone is calling I can see the phone number on the display and it takes from 5 up to 30 seconds for the name look up. So when I see that somebody is calling I have to wait a few rings before I can see the name of the calling party. And sometimes I loose calls. This is due to the slow processor and the large phonebook. Does XDA II have the same problem?
Does anybody has a large phonebook and experience the same difficulties as I do?
I have 2000 contacts in my XDA 1. No problem at all.

Number of rings, time to answer

Help again please.
How do I set the ring time, or number of rings before answering on my xda mini s. I have looked in phone settings but can't see anything that relates to how long it should ring for before I answer or it diverts to answering machine.
If its in my pocket, I have trouble getting it out before its diverted to answer machine. Is there a setting that I'm missing somewhere as I would like to double the short ringtime to a more reasonable length.
I also read somewhere about a newer rom than the o2 release rom. Anyone know where this is and what it does.
Thanks in advance.
This can be found under Setting-> Phone-> Services-> Call Forwarding
The maximum you can set it to is 30 seconds, but I'd like it to be longer as I seem to be missing calls!
I've noticed that the phone icon in the task bar comes on for about 5 seconds before it rings, has anyone else noticed this?
O2 reply
I contacted o2 about this as it eluded me for so long. They said:
Go to phone screen, type **61*901*11*, followed by the time in seconds and finish with # and click the green talk key.
I could get to 30 seconds and no more despite o2 saying I could set up to 60 seconds. What a lot of messing about. I agree (as does a friend) that it would be nice to get a longer delay as the preset time is too short and the maximum of 30 could be better. I suppose 30 seconds is something to do with the network.
Ah well. Nothing is perfect even when its close. Maybe in time.

Call waiting when dailing a number

Hello
When calling another person from my phone and if there are on the phone you will get call waiting as this way you now the person it on the phone.
I have tired it from another phone and it works but when i try it on htc hd2 it doesn't come up saying call waiting. Where as the person it on a call.
It was a very useful thing to have on phone. Is there a reg key i can change or cab file??
I think that if you are dialing, you do not have call waiting. This is also true for fixed lines. This is the only time your caller can get a busy tone.
But home phone nowadays operate like cell phones, and do not really send out the DTMF until you press the talk button. As a result, the dialing process beomes so quick that it does not matter much.
Alex
For example
If I am dialling your number and while you are already on another call with someone else than it will come up on my phone call waiting.
This way I now you are on the phone.
It use to work from my nokia phone but I am not sure if that option is available in winmo

Call waiting issue - no dismiss and answer

I get a lot of calls, often getting calls when already on a call.
I had a TYTN II before, and it had a function that allowed me to hang up current call and answer new call.
I don't think the HD2 allows that? Only gives me option to answer new call, which leaves other call running. I end up having to ignore new call, hang up current call and call the other person back (at my cost).
I spend about 24hrs a month on the phone, so the more i can answer calls when the come in, the cheaper it is for me.
Any one know a solution.
Also side issue. I used to get appointment reminders. And if i had the persons phone number in the appointment, i could dial it from the reminder. Was great if i was running late. it seems to have disapeared, probably with an update. anyone know how to reactivate it?
anyone got any ideas?
ok still waiting for help on this.

Recognizing forwarded calls

Hi there!
If i get a call on my SGS that is forwarded e.g. from my landline then there is a popup "forwarded call" on the screen for less than one second - then it disappears.
Thats quite short and my question is, if it's possible to set this popup stay during the entire call - maybe with a registry change.
My phone is rooted.
Thanx alot for your help!
Did you ever find and answer? I have the same problem with SGS i9000.
I will also be interested to show the forwarded calls on my other android phones
