Looking for advice on new T-Mobile contract - Networking

I've been on T-Mobile USA for awhile,
My contract expired about 2 years ago,
So I've just been paying the monthly fee.
Right now I have:
Plan Name: Get More with Nights and Weekends
Plan price $39.99
Whenever Minutes® 600
Weekend Minutes Unlimited
Weeknight Minutes Unlimited
With free WAP
What I want to do is:
1, Switch to a family plan
2, Keep my number
3, transfer a line from US Cellular (Keep the number)
4, add Internet access (E-mail and Internet for my JAM)
5, get an T-Mobile MDA (K-Jam)
6, Keep the 50 Free Loyalty minutes a month they gave me.
7, Add a TXT Message plan probably the "Any 400"
8, Get a sweet deal ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Now I live in Tulsa Oklahoma.
So I'm looking for advice on who I should talk to,
I've been a good customer for 5 years and I'm looking for a little love'n in return!
Should I just stop by the little local T-Mobile Shop,
E-mail/Call somebody or what?
Thanks alot!

I would call tmobile tell the price you want to pay for the phone. the Upgrade cost is like 349.99 for a 2 yr extention. if customer care wont ive you a deal, ask for adv gen ( rentention). they will work with you [/quote]

T-Mobile USA GPRS... I am confused

Hi,
as the free GPRS T-Mobile USA service seem to have stopped a couple days ago... for me at least... I was wondering which T-Mobile Add-on plan will get me this feature back... I want GPRS speed... not WAP/GSM... seems like T-Mobile has some confusing plan options... there are:
t-zones Pro , $9.99, (I assume that this is WAP/GSM only)
BlackBerry Unlimited Add-on ($19.99), (This says it has unlimited web browsing included, but what kind? And I really don't need the Blackberry service... I am fine with POP).
HotSpot Unlimited Service , $19.99, (This seems to be for the Wi-Fi network only... or is there GPRS with this?... if so, then I would prefer this plan)
Sidekick Unlimited Data Service, $20, (I assume this is for standalone sidekick units... but then again, I am not sure...)
I currently have a MDAIII/I-mate PDA2K.
I would really appreciate if someone could clarify this for me...
Treo
call tmo service tell them that you would like the HP H6315 sevice plan, look at tmo web site for the minutes that you need.
for $80/month I have 1000 minutes, unlimited GPRS-SMS messages-WiFi hotspots which can also be used with your laptop also!
Tell them that at&t is willing to work with you. I got them to credit me $100, 1 month of free service and the HP service plan.
If you within 7 days of your phone purchase you can get the tmo insurance for your phone. It is $4/month to insure your $900+ device.

That's great that T-mobile agree with your demand.
But anyway, on phone insurance it would be cheaper to go with your car or house insurance and add it on that policy. I am with State Farm Insurance and I ask them if I could add my personal stuff to get insured. I have MDA-II ($800 insured) and they agree to put it on. I have to pay $30 a year which is less than $3 a month.
So you could ask your insurance if they do that also.
Sorry kind of out of the topic here but good stuff to know!
Hi,
I really don't care so much about the insurance part... I have a pretty good international coverage that covers pretty much anything I own... I really need to know which plan I should get...
Treo
I have a $500 deductable on my house insurance and the tmo stuff is $75 ded. if claimed within 30 days and only $35 if you wait a month. I gues they assume that some people may get their phone back if they wait the month and then cancel the claim.
I expense my phone bill to work so I didn't mind the extra money.
Don't forget about your deductable though!!!!
Anyone else got a suggestion on the actual plan to chose? Come on...
it depends on what you do and what you need. I talked them into putting me on the HP ipaq plan that included unlimited GPRS, unlimited txt, and the kicker, unlimited TMobile Hotspots. Its a user account not connected to any particular device so you can take your laptop to the airport or starbucks.
$80/month for 1000 minutes so your its basically costing you $40/ month for all the data. But then again you won't ever download to much and get charged for it!

TMobile Data Plan

I called Tmobile Today May 31 2008 just to ask a few questions then she asked to look at my account and said they lowered the price of the unlimited data plan to 10 $ less so i have saved 10 bucks every month on my bill now .. want to let all t mobile Data hogs know lol enjoy

$10 less than WHAT? are you talking about the reduction from $29.95 to $19.95 (which happened last fall), or are you saying that you are now paying $9.95 for unlimited data?
It would be much more helpful if we knew how much you were paying, vs how much you are paying now.....
Thanks
yeah someone please post some info on this and let us know. thanks
Data Prices
I just checked the T-mobile website. The T-mobile Total Internet Addon is $19.95. The T-zones plan is now $9.95, but only available if you change your device to a standard phone. I'm not sure, but I think BigDee just got old info.
I think from $29.95 to $19.95 (which happened last fall)
i will check bill and let you know once i get back home been away for 4 months
in Arizona & NYC
19.95 in new york
$19.95 in new york, checked
I do not know if you guys are aware that you will be able to add the data package and have full access to internet without having to pay for the full data package. I have the setting and the proxy set up so i dont have to pay the 20 dllrs a month and only 5.99 for tzones (which i beleive is grand-fathered now). there are some down sides to it of course and cannot access windows live or hotmail messanger on it because it goes through another connection. I'm sure that this is old news to some but just thought i would try and help you all out there...

Good Deal On HTC Touch HD

I think i got a pretty good deal on my phone.
Tariff is £35 a month 600 mins unlimited texts, free phone
PLUS £175 cashback by redemption!
Mobiles.co.uk by any chance?
I messed up with them. I got the phone on £30 a month over 24 month contract thinking I would have to pay another £7.50 for unlimited internet. However it turns out you could swap the unlimited texts for the internet bolt-on if you can manage with just 500 texts a month. Would have gone on £30 a month over 18 month contract if I had known. Never mind anyway!
Make sure to ring up whoever you bought it from and ask for the exact bills you need to send in as well as the name of the person who told you. Keep everything in a file and make sure to send your bills, photocopies if possible, by recorded mail.

2nd deal down, 12 month contracts with orange are pretty good too.
The best ever for noobs like me:
Just get a very high tariff wait for 3 months get another HD on high tariff and then wait another 3 months to get the 3rd HD, then call them telling you got bad reception and that you're going to call BBC to present your problem, after that just wish that they will cancel your contract like they did with me, everything free and i came out with 3 HD's, but i had to pay for my whole first 3 months of contract for the first HD and the another 3 months for 2HD's.
I was lucky just that.

Hd2 t-mobile usa question, help please

hi everyone, i went to tmobile today 3-24-2010 and... they told me that i dont qualify for the 200 dollars discount because i must have 22 months contract in order to qualify and pay 200 dolares, other than that ill have to pay $350 and plus this phone requires internet... so it would be 30 a month.. is that all true??? i am in a family plan and i was like **** im not going to pay for the internet i just want the damn phone and they say this phone requires internet.. but i dont want internet on my hd2!! that sucks! can you guys help me.. is this true?? i didnt know this i might be stupid im sorry.. but i just want the damn phone.. so ill have to pay the no contract hd2 from tmobile????
Please watch your language. Yep, you gotta pay full price. I'm not sure why you're complaining. Just ask some of us what we gave for our unlocked, unbranded HTC Leo's!
if youre in a family plan--
DO NOT UPGRADE THE PHONE WITHOUT CONSULTING WITH YOUR PARENTS!
upgrading requires a new contract. don't do something stupid.
Unfortunately most new smart phones will REQUIRE data plans now. It's a great cash cow for carriers and people do actually like to have data plans. So it's a win-win situation. It's not really that cheap, but no choice if you want it.
If you are buying on contract you are locked to their network, and instead of your phone using the network and racking up data loosely they require you have a plan so you dont over do it on accident.
Most phones now require this in the smart phone genre due to the automatic things like weather and stocks and face book which will constantly update.
I'm sure you can set everything to filter over wifi (dunno for sure) but unless your paying full price for it they will require you to have certain things on the account for everything to be ship shape.
im sorry.. so there's no choice i could get it without internet..? my only choice will be buying it unlocked right?

The T-mobile rep told me when I got mine this morning that they have codes in their system that tell them what kind of phone you are using. All of their recent smartphones require data plans and they can see the phone type and force you to buy the data plan in order for the phone to work.
I am not sure if an unlocked (non-TMob branded HD2) would be able to circumvent this requirement.

Call T-mobile, ask for a supervisor/plan specialist and they will be able to give you the full upgrade price as long as you're within 3-4 months of your end of contract.
EDIT: Never mind, I'm an idiot and didn't read the whole post.
okay i get it.. so this guy was like "oh u dont qualify for the discount ($200) because you must have the 22 months contract" okay i get that.. so the regular price for me would be 350 of course with data right? because i dont remember if he said 350 or 250.. does anybody know? this is my last question

No contract is 450.
I believe Even More Plus plans (the cheap ones without contracts) allow you to get the phone without a data plan. I could be wrong about that, though. If you're in a contract plan right now, you can't switch to Even More Plus anyway.
but i am a tmobile customer..
this guy said 350 or 250 i dont remember what he exactly said but im pretty sure it is not 450 or maybe i had problems.. ill call tmobile tomorrow and ask i probably have some problems i also heard that if you have lets say an iphone running on tmobile and you want the hd2 you can give them your iphone and you will get a discount?? is that true??
T-Mo Rep here
T Mobile offers 2 types of plans (well, 3 really)
1) Even More Plus - No Contract, you get the phone at Full Retail Price (HD2 - 449.99 + Tax) but you do Not need to add Data and you can request an unlock code within 3-5 days of usage (we need to see the IMEI of the phone register on your account.)
2) Even More - 2 year contract, you get the phone for 199.99 + Tax (on 449.99). You need to add a data feature (30) for the Entire length of your 2 year contract. If you try and remove the data feature they cancel your contract and you pay 200.
YOU ARE NOW ELIGIBLE FOR A FULL UPGRADE TOWARDS A SMARTPHONE AFTER ONLY 12 MONTHS (24 for a phone first device). Even if you are on a grandfathered (myfavs) plan so GO IN AND CHECK even if you have 11 months left!!!!
3) Grandfather Plans - You will need to resign a 2 year contract and add a 24.99 data plan for the entire 2 years. Other than that, nothing on your plan changes.
With option 1, based on your credit class, T Mo will extend a credit line (can go from 120-1200) and you can split the cost of the phone into 20 payments with NO interest and No finance charge.
With option 2 and 3 you can split the cost into 4 payments (no APR and no finance charge)
Its pretty straitforward. Nothing to be confused about.
If you have less than 13 months on your plan, make no mistake, you Are elligible for a full upgrade towards the HD2 (199.99 + Tax).
There are NO trade-in options so keep your iPhone.
As for the data soc indicating what type of phone you have, that is true, we can also see the make and model as well as your IMEI.

In January of 2010 T Mobile changed the policy of Upgrades to allow for a full upgrade after 12 months as posted here:
tmonews(.)com/2010/01/t-mobile-partial-upgrade-pricing-discount-goes-live-tomorrow
This "early upgrade" only applies towards a Smartphone (not a phone first) so you should be good.
Go back and ask again or call Customer Care 611 and ask. If you walked into my store and we had an HD2 in stock, you'd get it for 199.99 unless you have some odd circumstances.

Solavei- No Activation Fee! 2nd Month Free!

Look Guys, if you get someone to refer you to Solavei before Spet. 10th, then you get no activation fee ($130) and your second month of service free!
Solavei is an MVNO carrier that uses T Mobile towers and also has T Mobile roaming. Solavei uses a pay for referral service. They give you $20 for every three people you refer. If one of the people you referred gets the people to join Solavei you also get another $20 off your monthly bill! If you already have TMobile it's a no brainer to get Solavei. You would pay less than you normally would with TMobile and you could also bring your phone with you! You should join Solavei because it saves you a lot of money compared to your traditional post paid carrier. Also, depending on the number of people I refer, I will be doing a TON of giveaways!
If anyone is interested in getting an invite to Solavei I'd be happy to help out. I'm trying to refer (a lot) people to raise money for devices to review and do giveaways on YouTube.
If 15 people sign up- 1 case per month
If 21 people sign up- 1 case per month 1 tablet every 6 months
If 30 people sign up- 1 case per month 1 tablet every 4 months
If 54 people sign up- 2 cases per month 1 tablets every 2 months
If 75 people sign up- 2 cases per month 1 unlocked smartphone/tablet every other month
If 100 people sign up- 2 cases per month 1 unlocked smartphone/tablet each and every month.
Solavei gives you unlimited talk, text, and unlimited data (up to 4GBs until throttled) for $49 per month!
If you guys sign up for Solavei it will give me the money to spend on new devices and accessories to review and then give them to my YouTube Viewers, or you if you decide to enter .
If you join The Lane before September 10th you get your 2nd month free and no activation fee ($130) So join now before it's too late!
eMail me at [email protected] if you want to get an invitation!

Somewhat yes, but the plan is still a really good deal. By referring only 9 people you're paying only $9 per month!

Contracts on this thing?
wowmobile did the same thing a few years ago
No contract. :good:
If you wanna get an invitation, do it before tomorrow because if you get an invitation before the 10th you get your activation fee waived and second month free!
The thing is just like every pyramid scam, the "recruits" have to remember one thing. Is the "deal" on what they are receiving going to be worth the cost they are charged per month?
Truth is that most people will not be able to get 3+ other people to sign up under them to get a discount, so for most people, the cost is going to be $50 a month. I know that some people will be able to make some money off of this, those who sign up earliest, but the problem with every pyramid scheme is that it can not go on forever. New members are a limited resource.
If 1 person signs up and gets 3 others to sign up under him that will give him a discount. Now if those 3 also want a discount then they will also have to sign up 3 each for a total of 9 people.
I know the chart is crude, but for each tier to just get the minimum number to get just 20 off. The numbers get far worse if everyone wants to get free service.
This just starts with 1 person (who I will say can bank on it, minimum $60 for 1 trio per tier to $200 for 3 per) the problem is this doesn't just start with 1 person at the top. Also most likely people who are joining now wont be in the first few tiers, so it makes it far harder for them to recruit as the resource of people has already been cut into.
Thanks for clearing that up Domino :good:
I just signed on with Solavei.
I was with T-Mobile just some months ago, but figured I'd give pre-paid a try. I went with Straight Talk instead of Solavei, because Straight Talk was cheaper and I could swap between AT&T and T-Mobile SIMs. But I've found Straight Talk's data plan to be less than reliable. With T-Mobile my 4G always worked fine, but with Straight Talk I'm using a T-Mobile SIM and had some issues. At first with ST, I was getting great 4G speed, but last week I had 1 day where I went up to about 125MB data usage, still at only about 825MB total for the month. And a couple days later my data speed was down to 2G . I called them that night to turn off "auto-renew" and my speed immediately went back up to 4G, go figure.
I called Straight Talk to turn off the auto-renew, because I had signed up with Solavei. A few bucks more a month than Straight Talk and a much better defined data usage policy. Even if they didn't do the referal thing I'd be using Solavei right now. For me, the referals are a bonus, if I get any. Whether I get some or none, I'm good either way. The savings over what I was paying for post-pay service are bonus enough for me .
For this month, they are offering a month free service and a free SIM to anyone who signs up on referral. Still have to pay the $49 "activation fee" though. So basically $49 up front and $49 every month after that.
Anyone wants to join my solavei network i have regular sims and micro sims to sign up just go to solavei.com/yiyo17
This is no deal
Sorry, Solavei is not allowed to be advertised or discussed on XDA.
