New XDA Exec ROM: LIVE - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

JUST WENT LIVE!
http://www.my-xda.com

but does it have A2DP?
(I'd download it at work, but we've got some mega uploads going on today, and I've got ADSL2+ at home anyways)
Anyone installed it already and got any views/reviews - how does it compare to the latest JasJar rom for speed/responsiveness?
edit add - direct download link for those who don't want to go through the IMEI/Number check
installation pdf is here
Looks like the versions are:
ROM Version: 1.30.162
Radio: 1.09.00
CE image: 1.30.107
And looking at the install pdf it doesn't mention A2DP - boo.

Have a look at my post for more details .....

Advice for Exchange 2003 SP2 & ActiveSync (error 8501000

Having spent the past day or so struggling to get my shiny new HTC Wizard syncing correctly with Exchange 2003 I thought I would post the solution...
This only applies to those of you using ActiveSync to communicate from a WM5 (and possibly earlier?) with an Exchange 2003 server with SP2. SP2 looks handy for mobile users as it introduces HTTP direct push (well, it will shortly..) among st other features - this is the reason that I chose to install it.
Once installed, it allows a range of Mobile Access settings that include direct push (only actually available once MSFP devices - or patches - become available... Q2 seems to be the best estimate) as well as some interesting security features that allow a remote wipe of sensitive data, should a WM5 device be stolen/lost.
One of these security settings is to require a password on the handled device - a great idea... DON'T SET IT!! None of these security settings work with non MSFP devices - they throw a general server access error 85010004. So the server setting to check, on your Exchange 2003 SP2 server is:
(DOMAIN) > Global Settings > Mobile Devices
Click the "Device Security..." button
Make sure that the "Enforce password on device" checkbox is cleared - at lest until you have MSFP devices around
After that you can correct any other 85010004 or 85010014 errors using the advice from the Microsoft KnowledgeBase (have fun!). This SP2 problem isn't listed there yet (I got it, eventually, from a MS partner tech support site).
Hi Guy,
Have you been able to get Push to work? I installed the Exchange service Pack and enabled HTTP push. My WM5 wizard does a manual sync fine via GPRS, but when I check off realtime receipt, it keeps asking me for the phone's SMS number...
Have you encoutered this prob? I wonder if it makes a dif if my Phone OS is French while Exchange server is in English
Thanks
footang
Without the MSFP (which should be available VERY soon?) you have to rely on Exchange Server doing a 'fake push' using SMS... it sends an SMS to your device to tell the device to connect (over GPRS) to pick up new mail. This is NOT a proper push solution...
My understanding is that MSFP updates both the WM5 device AND the Exchange Server, enabling the server to implement true push... I'm seriously considering moving my Exchange to a hosted provider (probably Cobweb) as I have plenty of minor issues running Exchange 2003 on a small SBS server... Cobweb tell me they will have MSFP live this month.
I will let you know how I get on...
Guy,
I installed the latest QTEK Rom and push works great. The only prob is that it doesnt vibrate when the phone is in standby mode to let you know an email arrived.
cheers

OFFICIALLY RELEASED: Activesync 4.2

I did a search and couldn't find anything so pardon if this is a repost, and I don't know if there is any differnce between the official release and 4.2 Beta that we've been using.
The latest version of ActiveSync has been released by Microsoft. Here are some of the features/improvements as listed on the Microsoft AS link:
Changes in ActiveSync 4.2 help resolve connectivity related issues with Microsoft Outlook, proxies, partnerships, and connectivity.
- Microsoft Outlook Improvements: Resolves issues relating to error code 85010014.
- Proxy/DTPT interaction Improvements: Improved auto configuration of device Connection Manager settings when desktop has no proxy path to the internet.
- Improved Desktop Pass Thru behavior with ISA proxy failures.
- Partnership improvements: Better resolution of multiple devices with the same name syncing with the same desktop.
- Connectivity Improvements: Better handling of VPN clients (resolve unbinding of protocols from our RNDIS adapter). New auto detection of connectivity failure with user diagnostic alerts.
ActiveSync 4.2 supports PC sync via USB cable, Bluetooth, or infrared connection.
AS 4.2 can be downloaded from:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...3a-28bf-4cac-a682-58d3233efb4c&DisplayLang=en
Any idea as to whether the offial release contains improvements over the beta?
Cool, thanks for the heads up!
Tempted...
...as, like many of us here, I love to try new stuff for my Wizard BUT my old AS works perfectly and if it ain't broke... Will wait to see if there are any glowing reports before I take the plunge. Cheers for the heads up though.
I just bought a MDA today, have ActiveSync 4.2 already installed (the CD that T-Mobile USA gives you appears to have a build of ActiveSync 4.1, Outlook 2002, and one app I have no clue what it does, so I didn't bother installing anything from that CD), plugged the MDA in, and it did its stuff.
Hopefully I won't have any major bugs. *knocks on wood*

Direct push e-mail ... cortado.com service free - question

I have Tmobile MDA (US) and I have upgraded my device with 2.26 Tmobile ROM. I have found cortado.com to offer free e-mail account and direct push e-mail option for free and I tried to configure my device with it but here is the thing: I am not sure if I have installed Messaging & Security Feature Pack that is required. I was on Microsoft.com site and there is the link leading me to Tmobile site to update my device which is already updated - so, I am guessing my device does have this pack installed.
When I go to Active Sync and then Menu - option Add resource server is grayed and I cannot tap on it?
Does anyone have any clue how to do this?
Thank you!

MSFP CAB or cooked in a rom?

Does anyone have or know if MSFP (Messaging and Security Feature Pack) is available for 2003se or something with similar functionality??? I've found RoadSync http://www.dataviz.com/products/roadsync/winmobile/index.html, but looking for MS or other alternatives.
I would like the direct HTTPS push of email notifications, rather than the current method of Email to SMS which is available in 2003se. I am running my own Exchange server, and would really like this feature!
MSFP is available only for WM5 (maybe WM6) roms only, it is a part of the OS so it can not be distributed as cab, because it will be inpossible to replace the working rom files via CAB instalation
