I am quite new to my MDA Vario which is on UK T-mobile, I decided to do a ROM update, to see if the following could be improved:
Signal
Voice Calls
Any other improvements.
First of all, I got the Qtek 9100 update, it was after I installed it that I realised that I needed an imate version, I didn’t remove the Qtek ROM update, but what I done was to install the Imate Rom update.
This was done yesterday and ever since Active Synch doesn’t work on my home Pc, it doesn’t seem to detect that the phone is connected to the computer, whereas it works fine on my laptop, and also on my Pc at work.
Can anyone advice me on what to do, home PC is where I really need to synch.
Other info: MDA Vario Phone
ROM update installed: K-JAM_WWE_216901_2169101_020710_ship.zip
Active Sync version: version 4.1 latest build used on Home PE, laptop and work PC

The only thing I can suggest it to try the old windows standard 'fix all' solution.... uninstall and re-install active-sync from your home PC.

just when i thought the 91% loading thing was a problem... here comes another one.!
recently i updatd the ROM it is now 1.52.00WWE , ROM date: 10/23/03, radio version: 1.10.00, Ext rom version: 1.03.29
after the update i realise that the following problems have occurred..!
1. Activesync is recognizing the machine initially as ctota ( default name of my imate) but getting connected as guest. i am not able to make a standard partnership
2. MSN messenger seems to be just an icon.. it doesnt open up
3. Voice command has been corrupted and does not open..!
all this of course happened after the xback up and restore happened in my sandisk 512
not sure if this a problem with the rom update or otherwise..!
did anyone face this problem before?? or is it possible for anyone to gimme a solution...!

when i updated my rom the same thing happent to my msn messenger
it turned out that it were because when it sync'd it got some bad stuff from the messenger update for 2002 and when i uninstalled the messenger update and installed the messenger update for 2003 it fixed it

the msn update id understand.. but what im not able to make sense is the default guest profile.,... usually asks me... if a guest machine comes to sync with my laptop if a standard relationship / guest rltnship is to be made...
also that while booting my comp showing that it cannot open activesync...!! rather surprising..!
any advice??

as stated earlier... it is going in as default guest...!! HELP..!!
all my s/ws worldmate pro.. avantgo..satPPC and ofcourse the outlook is nto getting synced..!

i would uninstall and reinstall activesync and outlook
making sure it's version 3.7.1

My XDA II synchs as a guest.
Did you figure out how to solve this problem?

I have found a way out!!
1. Go to Active sync without connecting your device then delete all partnerships available.
2. Connect your device and create a new partnership.

I 've upgraded my MDAc (BIGStorage) with the BlackBerry PushService. (Only install the BBConnect_HTC_PocketPC_TMO_Austria_Germany_2.0.1.43-47.cab)
First the Instantemail-Service from T-Mobile works fine. But when the mobile connection has been lost, the BB-Client doesn't reconnect again. Yesterday a softreset works, but today it didn't.
Have someone an idea? A reinstallation of the CAB-Files also didn't helps.

Hi, it might be a problem of your radio version. I installed the complete rom update from t-mobile and it worked fine. Then I decided to only update the radio to 1.13 also (the new t-mobile rom is still radio version 1.12). For the first time it worked fine, but after a softreset it is no longer possible to get the envelope icon. I get a connection and a IP adress, but after a while the connection closes.
I did this several times. Downgrade to the t-mobile rom with radio version 1.12 -> worked. Upgrade to radio 1.13 -> worked only for the first time.
I have no idea what the radio version has to do with the email push connection, but this is the only thing I have changed.
But another hint: never synchronize your MDAc with Active Sync when the email push service is active. At least on my MDAc after disconnecting the MDAc from the USB cable all my calendar entrys and the active sync profile was deleted! So even after creating a new profile, it is no longer possible to synchronise the calendar because the push service does not allow it anymore.
Perhaps it is a bug only on my machine. But be carefull.

I have bought qtek S200 recently and i have spent a lot of man hours trying to get this thing to sync with my desktop computer. it works fine with my laptop however doesn't want to sync with my desktop.
I get an new hardware wizard when i plug my pda into the USB requests for me to point to the drivers because windows was unable to find drivers.. I have gone through troubleshooting steps where disabling firewall / ant virus. Uninstalling active sync reinstalling / downgrading active sync and upgrading no luck. doesn’t matter if i try 3.8 or 4.2 it doesn't want to recognize my device and asks for the drivers.
i have windows xp with service pack 2 installed. so at this point i am wondering if someone has the driver files for it ? or what should be next step, any help would be appreciated.
Don't even try with activesync 3.8. It doesn't support WM5. Use 4.1 or 4.2...

I tought I had tried everything as well, when I found this utility over at Modaco (apparently included in the latest Dopod ROM).
Install and switch from RNDIS to Serial using the program and voila - worked like a charm for me!

After fighting with this device and my system for about 2 weeks. i noticed that my system had become so unstable that it wont' accept any new hardware. I tried installing a new 3COM network card and mostly 3com NIC's dont' require drivers however my system poped a window stating can't find drivers and put the device in system not working properly status.
so then i decided to format my computer and after the format, installed service pack 2 for xp and tried ACTIVE SYNC. without a problem it worked fine.
Hello guys i have a magician with windows mobile 2003, ROM version 1.12.00 WWE, actually downloaded from magician wiki,
my problem is as the title suggests, i can't synchronise using bluetooth, things are fine wth USB, but not with bluetooth.
i have been searching the forum for a week now, and followed many steps, but no use...when i start Active Sync on the PPC and i press connect via bluetooth i get stuck in "connecting to host" and it doesnt change.
i have an ASUS notebook (XP SP2)with Build in Bluetooth, and use ActiveSync 4.5.
2 more notes:
1. i had vista on the notebook a week ago, and things were totally fine, bu as i am back to XP, and to ActiveSync 4.5, things don't work, it never worked even with the previous XP.
2. i am not good in these things,,,so please a bit more detalied comment will be very helpful

i have a spv c500 from orange uk to unlock i install active sync4.5 and conect fone to pc it was conected and build partnership but wen i run in fone HTCUnlock-CVS den device didnt explored and give some problem to explore den i delete partnership from pc and tried but fail to explore.but wen i next day i conected the fone to pc it didnt made any partnership and gives the following error
wat should i do for this any idea?

I need a T-Mobile backup phone and tried to unlock my Orange C500 with this software.
I just get a screen saying "Action cancelled".
Is the software no longer functional?
I turned of my Firewall (M$ & Peerguardian) and I was linked to Activesync.
Can anyone help?
I just dealt with a similar problem unlocking an unbranded smt5600 for AT&T
I was having all sorts of active sync issues - which likely are a result of either:
a) device's activesync client not initializing
fix) Hard reset your device - this will reinstall a fresh version of the local activesync client. At very least this will require you to set up a fresh partnership
b) device is having USB problems
fix) if you are running wm5+, make sure to go to start>settings>connections> USB to PC (or whatever it's called) and uncheck the "Enable advanced network functionality" box
c) might be a host problem...
fix) any number of things. You've already started on the right path by disabling the firewall. I've read about many problems from people trying this on Vista machines.

No idea how to hard reset or update to a newer version.

Okay, It worked.
I tried it again and it worked perfectly (with both firewalls on)
I can only assume the site was down the first few times I tried it.
I am now happily using my unlocked SPV C500
Once I get my new phone back I'll be interested in updating the firmware now.
