In search for a new housing - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

Hi members,
I wonder if someone could give me a hand in search
of a new housing (or just the front cover) for a Qtek
S100?
The point is, that i have an T-Mobile MDA unit, and i
want to change the front cover, because of that
ugly T-Mobile logo.
Or is there anyone who knows how to get that logo
of the cover, without damaging the cover itself ?
W'll let me knwo if someone has any idea...
Thnx

Jam strange click, untight case

Hi Guys,
I know this might sound crazy but I was wondering if anyone is having this little problem.
Whenever I hold the jam by where the "i-mate" logo is, i hear and feel a slight click, it's as if the jam's case is not sealed correctly. If you don't knwo what i mean, it's like when you put ur thumb on the iMate logo and your pointing finger on the back of the jam and then pinch, you can feel the jam make a very slight click. The other four corners of the jam is fine and tight, but the i-mate logo corner seems to be slightly clicking and not tight whenever u squeeze or pinch it.
IS THIS JUST ME ?????????? if it is i should probably return it for another! PLEASE LET ME KNOW GUYS HELP!!!!! THANKS!!
no i dont think so
if u meant the cover then i have a little bit of click at i-mate logo

YEA !!!! THAT's EXACTLY what i mean!!! at the i-mate logo, you have a bit of a click too right??????????? SO THIS IS ON ALL JAMS???
i think all i-mate jam units have the same problem, plus i looked up into 10units and i found that every unit has a little scratch on the cover in diffrent place ....
i thin the first version has some problem. well, i think the second versin willl has a few problems....
that just totally sucks... I think i will just go and super-glue it tight so it wont click no more
 i'll let you guys know what happens, hahah
no klik for me
hahah are you SURE????? you just messing with us right?
Click
Yep, mine does it too.
On mine, I can see that it is being caused by the fact the case is a little loose at the back (behind the iMate logo!)

Just got mine today from Modaco and I'm really chuffed with it. No clicks, No Scratches. Its perfect. Anybody want to be an XDA IIs

Removing rubber cap on bottom, how ?

I plan on buying a deskcharger but ofcourse when putting the phone on it will need removing the rubber cap on the bottom of the phone every time. That's a bit of hassle. So, how to remove the cap permanently ? Hopefully it's possible to cut one end of the rubber "string" and pull it through the hole. If not, then it would be best to open the phone I guess. Anyone know the best procedure for this ? Many thanks.
Where is rubber cap? 8)

Where's your head ? As in my original post : " the rubber cap on the bottom of the phone". Anyway I understand this HTC Magician has many different faces and asses My model has the rubber-cap. Any help would be appreciated.
Code72,
The 'rubber cap' is a dust cover for the usb and headphone jack on the Dopod 828, Krome Spy and Orange SPV M500. All the other versions of the Magician don't have it.
Daffie,
I would pull out the rubber cap as far as it can go and cut off the 'strings' as close to the body as possible. that way the ends should just disappear back up into the case.

Thanks. Yeah that's what I figured. Hopefully if I cut the string on one side only it can be pulled through the hole. That would be the ultimate solution. If that doesn't work then I'll cut both sides. I'm afraid though the leftover piece of string could get a life of it's own inside the phone
Hey, I'll swap you my plain vanilla magician for your m500, I like the rubber cap! My USB port is full of dust and crap!

New faceplate for Wizard 100 series

Does anybody know where you can get a new faceplate for the Wizard 100 series? (Cingular / Dopod styling).
Also, how does the old one come off, with just loosening the two small torq screws on the back of the slider?
Thanks!

No idea where you'll get one from, but there's more holding them together than just those 2 screws.....
check the wiki for magician diss-assembling methods - they're likely to be similar, but in brief you'll need to prise the aeriel cover off, remoce 2 screws there and void warranty seal, remove the 2 screws you can see, then lever the casing away from the chassis.

I recall reading a thread either here or on howardforums about someone who found a source for the stylus. When I went to the site the poster provided, I found that they provide just about every part for HTC phones. I think there may have been a minimum quantity that must be ordered, but haven't verified. Do a search on "stylus" or "found stylus" or similar here and at HoFo and see if you can find the thread.
Thanks Summiter! Do you remember how old the post was? I have been searching with no success

I had the same problem a long time ago, then found a thread with this same question
I solved by placing a piece of tape on tha plastic part of the stylus (Of course with the same shape so it not looks bad) and voila!
Hope it helps for you
I am not interested in putting some tape on the stylus as I think that this is only a tempory measure!
There has been a tread here where somebody showed us how you can fix the internal plastick "spring" which holds the stylus, but for this I have to open the PDA...So if somebody knows the torx screw number, that would help me!
Thx!

Well I have almost a year with my tape on it without opening my pda and even it´s hidden so you don´t even see it
I dont mind changing tape once or twice a year really
Anyway good luck and if you find another solution please let all us know
Cheers,
Ok guys, its a T-6 you need to open your Qtek 9000...lets see that the patient survives the operation!
It was a 5min job...a small drop of 2component glue and voila!
I think that the plastick "spring" got "tired, its like new now!
See pictures...
Cool!!
I´ll test it soon as I can
Merci!
