XDA 11i and the use of a wired modem not wireless

Hi team
Im the proud owner of a shiny new XDA11i and would like to connect it to the net via a standard wired modem , ie not via GPRS / wifi/my lap top etc .
I travel and often have acess to a phone point . what is the best way to move on this one , GPRS will cost me a fortune , where as dial up is 1p per min !!!!.
Ive seen ads for SDIO modems ? do they mean removing my memory card though ?
Is there a modem availiable that will fit in the serial port at the base ? or is there a modem that comes with a USB connector that I could use ?
Any thoughts? Im sure that Im not the only person who is curious about this .

what do i need to do

hi all . merry emas to all . my question is i just bought a bluetooth dongle for my land pc . so i can hook up to the net with my XDA mini . and surf the net thru my adsl on my XDA . ... how can i tell if i am still useing the o2 connection or my adsl or does it just take over when i hook the XDA up to the land pc while the land pc is on the net . is there something i am missing hear . is there something i need to do to my XDA to tell it i dont want to be connected thru o2 to the net . as i want to use my adsl connection to surf on my XDA how can i do this can someone help .also i just seen on ebay there is a cd u can buy that has all the apps for the phone is this full software or just trial software . ant of u guys bought this kind of thing before cheers

Managing my wireless connection - @ Exact time i'd like..

Hello to all,
compliments 4 the forum. I'd like to know if there is a way , a software like system .. to temporize my wireless connection.
Infact i'd like that my pda every morning at 8.00 AM exactly connects by self at my WIFI ACCESS POINT for just 5 minutes to download all my email and news.

wifi problems xperia x10

H guys, my wifi won't connect to internet. It shows im connected to the hub, but won't let me connect to market, mail browser. It's only working if i go trough 3g. Any ideas, getting bit frustrated, i've searched on the internet bu can't find a solution.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in anticipation. liza

Is it your home network or an office network? If it's office network then perhaps you need proxy settings...

if your on the 026 firmware i believe there is a wifi bug, so could be that

Im on 026. Never had anny wifi problems . Try to restart the ruter. If that dont help remove the wifi connectin profile for that rutter from your phone and the reconect.
And if that dont work . Do a factory reset on the ruter and yor phone

Hello,
does the WiFi connection break down if you loose your cell phone signal?
That would be the R2BA026 bug, which really annoys me because I'm living in the basement with low signal strengh

R2BA026 and have no problems at all.. switch off the router and then try again. Wifi at home work even the local coffee shop no problem.

i dont think this will work for your problem, but you should go into your wifi settings-menu-advanced-wifi sleep policy and select never
give that a try

Got the same problem, kinda.
I can see my network, but everytime i tell my x10 mini pro to connect it scans>connects>disconnects - and thats the cycle it does 24/7 - Nothing wrong with my router - 100% setup - nothing wrong with the x10´s settings..GG SE

sounds like a proxy problem or an authentication problem

[Q] something weird with my nexus 4

hey so every time i turn on my wifi connection on the phone my web surfing on my pc get slow and the ping get high i dont know why this happen in the last week and i cant fix it and i dont know what happen ?! what should i do / ? when i turn of my wifi connection on the phone every thing become fast again on the pc kinda weird i dont know what to do help !!

Well, there's background data transfer, like google keyboard that download language without notif, so it probably there's app that download something in background

Have you tried rebooting the router to see if things clear up? Is the PC on wifi as well? What kind of router?

actually no .. i didnot do that yet im going to do that in a sec and tell u what happen .. yea i have laptop and its on the same wifi connection .. the kind if the router is bezeq netgear wireless n ( bezeq is my internet provider )
