Don't you have an SD Card reader? If so you can just put a new ROM on there to re-flash.
You can also boot into FASTBOOT mode and use ADB to connect to your device to push/pull files to fix whatever issue you may have, since its not specified...

Those will put you back to stock (completely stock)
Nice! Downloading now.
hrm lost my data connection.

Did I do something wrong?

Rooted phone.... check
Flashed recovery image and did. Nanodroid backup...check
Partitioned sd card fat32+ext2+swap... check
Flashed modaco Rom and rebooted.... check
Google maps/voice search not working.
My photos, music and nanodroid backup are missing or is it not showing because I'm looking at the ext2 partition?
Any way to resolve this?
Or do have to erase everything recover my nanodroid backup and reflash the rom?
when you partitioned your SD card it erases the card. The google maps/voice search can be solved by installing google maps from the market, uninstall and then reinstalling again. Voice search by moving the voice search apk from /data/app to /system/app.
Sprint Hero users can no longer obtain Google Maps from the market. It's been updated to Android 1.6 with Google Navigation.
I'd recommend you skip Modaco's ROM. It's running the old, pre-update Hero ROM. Sprint has since released an update that is included in fresh and the "unofficial" Modaco ROM. Use one of those instead.
Oh, and if you didn't make a backup of your card before you partitioned it, everything is gone. Including your Nandroid backup.
I copied the nanodroid back.up to my pc. If I put it on my sd.can I do a recovery?.I.found the apk and installed it. Should I just start over with the ruu file I have?

Yes put the Nandroid directory back on your SD card and restore it. It won't restore anything from your card such as pictures, though.
Anyway, restore the backup and then apply a newer ROM. I recommend the unofficial Modaco. Be aware that AppsToSD will complicate your backup procedures since Nandroid does not back up the ext partition.

2.2 rom install and titanium/astro backups

Going to 2.2 roms how to keep titanium/astro backups?
As 2.2 roms apparantly dont support ext partitions, and think we need to format SD card to get apps2sd to work, what titanium/astro files would we need to be copied to PC?
Can you please, please, please post this kind of threads in Q&A ?

Yes they would need to be moved to the pc,
Best to do a nandroid back up then just copy the files from sd card to pc,
But as shokkapic said please keep questions to the Q&A section of the forums,
This section is only for rom issues and your question is more of a generic question.

Steven
For Titanium Backup there is folder on your SD Card called Titanium Backup... You just have to copy this folder on your computer and you have a back up ok Titanium Backup
thanks
sorry only posted it here as none of the intros to any of 2.2 roms mention SD ext/apps2sd or backups.
be nice if they did as lack of sd ext is bit of a change from past..

[Q] Question: how do you copy existing wp7 image?

I'd like to go back and forth between my favorite android build and my wp7 build on my hd2. I can backup and restore my android image via cwm; however, after flashing wp7, it erases cwm, and I can't seem to backup my wp7 image.
I need a way to dump rom from wp7. I know how to copy partitions on my 8gig sd card. Please help.
Btw, I am an experienced noob.
