hi there, i have a question: my qtek 9100 drops the carrier very often. it turns on flight mode on its own... ive noticed this twice now after the phone is left on its own for about 4-5 hours...
i dont realise that has happened until i look at the phone and notice the signal LED isnt flashing anymore. then i have to press the icon, turn off flight mode and input my pin again...
is this normal?anybody heard of that?
i am running the rom i got when i got the phone which i think is pretty old...
Rom Version: 1.1.7.5
Rom Date: 9/22/05
Radio Version: 01.01.10
Protocol Version: 4.0.13.16
ExtRom Version: 1.1.6.105
should i upgrade?ive downloaded the
186504-ruu_9100_2170702_21707102_20710_qtek_wwe_ship
.exe file from xda-developers...
i was hoping to wait to get a mini sd card first before saving the rom, is it worth the wait?
Thanks for answering and helping!
right. upgraded to:
Rom Version: 2.17.7.2 WWE
Rom Date: 2/10/06
Radio Version: 02.07.10
Protocol Version: 413.1.03
ExtRom Version: 2.17.7.102
What ive noticed so far:
1 much much quicker interface, with no lag when opening keyboard
2 battery in taskbar at top, but in programs, only the time appears, so thats really really good (set it in start>settings>system>clocks/alarms>more to show clock all the time)
3 hasnt gone into flight mode for no reason, and i did leave it whole night
4 alarm clock works, brings the device out of standby and vibrates and rings like crazy ( by standby i mean the phone part is working but screen is off)
Cheers, i highly recommend this version!

PHONE MUTED WHEN BATTERY IS LOWER THAN 20%
sometimes in my XDAII, no matter if receiving or making calls, my voice/sound cannot be heard, by the other party. Nor I can hear his/her voice/sound. Phone call ringing is Ok.
This problem appears 20% 30% of times IN NORMAL BATTERY CONDITIONS.
When the battery is below 20% this problem appears 90% of times!
I made hard reset...no improvement.
I disabled smart diallings option : no improvement
I am running:
ROM 1.11.00 WWE
Radio 1.04.00
ExtROM 1.11.162
Please help
Saulo866
one more hint: it seems that the problem (phone muted) is solved if, after a hard reset, when the message appears "in 3 secs device will restart" I do a soft reset, with the stylus
In this way I prevent the extRom to be loaded.
In fact now my XDA IIi shows as:
ROM 1.11.00 WWE
Radio 1.04.00
ExtROM < blank>
What shall I think? That the ExtROM 1.11.162 is the culprit?
If so, can someone provide me the CAB for MMS (now Multimedia SMS disappear) so I can install them separately?
What other CRITICAL cabs are now missing?
3. Since extROM is not installed, is there a way to use this storage? How?
Thanks and waiting
Saulo866
I was wrong: phone muted when battery is below 20% or 25% still appears now, even n ExtROM is loaded (ExtROM is blank)
I believe the XDA II is defective. Any different opinion?
Is it a known bug?
Thanks
Saulo866
Every work day at 4pm, my O2 XDA Exec changes the sound levels and switches my bluetooth OFF.
I remember setting this when I first got the phone, and obviously thought I could change it back. However I can not find what I did or how to get it back to the 'default' setting.
Anyone know?
re
if you have the original rom and have active ui(?) running...then on the today screen you'll find an option for profiles(?) or battery saving (?) ...been four five mounths since i had an o2 rom so am not sure....the same app shouls also be in your progs
Wahey! I hope that's solved it... MANY thanks..

Let us know how it works.
Which Rom are you using???
Ik want my volume turned down and BT switched of at 00:00.
And turned back on at 07:00 in the morning.
Then I can't be supprised by phonecalls or be kept awake by that anoying blinking blue light
Sharky48

Hi dude...
Well going in reverse from me, turn on the O2 active and select Extras, then power profiles.
From there you can set a timer up to switch a profile ON (inc. BT, WiFi, etc) at a certain time and OFF again.
I had forgotted how I'd done it in the first place...
And I'm not 100% if this is what you're asking but from my device information:
ROM Version: 1.13.82 WWE
Rom Date: 11/30/05
Radio version: 1.04.02
Protocol version: 42.37.P8
ExtROM version: 1.13.188 WWE
I have a Cingular 8125
ROM Version: 2.25.11.1 WE
ROM Date: 5/11/06
Radio Version: 02.25.11
Protocol Version: 4.1.13.12
ExrROM Version: 2.25.11.102
When I have my ring set to vibrate and have my New E-Mail Message notification set to vibrate I get some weird results. After the first ActiveSync sync it vibrates 1 time to identify a new message has arrived. On the second ActiveSync sync it vibrates indefinitely (just won't stop) until I press the power button to wake the phone and stop the vibrating.
How can I get it to stick with the just 1 vibrate?
I had a very similar problem, when I rebooted my 8125, it would randomly vibrate for about 5 minutes from bursts ranging from 2 seconds to 1 minute. My only advice is to either reflash to the same firmware or upgrade the firmware.
you can always sell me your phone for $25
sounds like i need to buy this phone from you for my wife
When i had mine i had a similiar issue.. it was caused from a 3rd party app, but i dont remember which one.. so you may want to look there.. if not then reflash, if that doesnt work then i would send it in under warranty (if you have warranty still)
I noticed a few weeks ago that my display stopped turning off automatically. The backlight turns of but the phone remains on and drains the battery. I have set the timeout to two minutes in settings -> power -> advanced (tab) on battery power and 5 minutes on external but it does not seem to mind these settings.
So I have to remember to hit power after I am done using the phone or my battery dies. This seems like a registry issue. I have searched around for an answer but I haven't found one.
I an running
ROM version: Pro BLACK 2.5
Radio version: 1.41.00.10
Protocol version: 32.74.7020.18H
I also tried hard resetting but that did not help. Any help would be much appreciated.
if you hard resetted then it can't be a registry thing, as that gets wiped along with everything else at a hard reset
Ok... So what else could it be? Any one else run into this problem?
Hi,
I have a strange problem. My touch HD switches on at random times. Very annoying if your phone is in your pocket and starts dialing other people without me knowing about it...
It started when I installed WM6.5 roms with Manilla 2.5.
I run currently on:
- OS version: 5.2.28002 (wm6.5 build 28002.5.3.0 pv)
- Manila version: 2.5.19211619.0
- ROM version: 1.59.841.5 WWE
- Radio version: 1.13.25.24
Anybody has the same experience or knows the root-cause and resolution for this?
thanks in advance,
Sven

hmm, not sure. As a temp solution until you sort out issue, why don't you set your device to auto-lock so if it did turn on, screen is locked?
Use either HD Tweak or Smart Lock
You'd be surprised how easy it is for this type phone to turn on. Lots of times when I am headed out, I will turn on the GPS and activate iGO8 and put it in a loose coat pocket. The major offender seems to be the phone key on the left side of the phone but any of the other keys can activate the phone as well. Unless you use a lock program as suggested, any of these keys or even an incoming phone call can cause your phone to unlock and be a dialing-for-dollars fool.

Thanks for the answer. The device turns on, and the screen is locked automatically. The device is switched on automatically due to an unknown reason. (There must be one, for sure ...) However, I think that it is not due to an alarm setting or some sort of notification, because I disabled them all by now.
Also, when I leave the device untouched on a table, the screen switches on at random times ... So it cannot be a key that I touch accidentally...
Hope this provides a bit more input to diagnose this one ...

I had this problem a while back when using PIM backup. My phone would come on at 00:01 every day in accordance with the scheduled backup occurring. I don't know why it did this but stopping the backup prevented anymore...ahem... "alien visitations" in the morning!
I would look at all the programs you have installed and go through the settings of each one until you find anything that starts on a schedule or is triggered by an event on the phone (e.g: data expiring for a TV listing application might trigger a background update). From that point on disable them one at a time until you, hopefully, find what is causing it.
I have a random bug too, mine auto turns off when you get a text or call, its totally random and happens once a month but its annoying when it does!
I have the same problem, at first i thought it because of the cooked ROMS but then i realized that it doesnt i tried ~10 different cook or original roms. Also contact HTC support but they dont solve the problem, just say hard reset
and someday i found the problem, the stylus switch on the phone. i thnink there is a problem with the magnet , it's so sensitive.
Try this press your finger right side(where stylus in) of the phone and see phone wakes up.
Nope, thanks for the advice, but that didn't solve the problem.
Sven
think also it has something to do with the stylus... even if checking for this reasons, the switch on problem still look like a random one - but with stylus out, it never happens. maype theres some possibilty to disable this sensor permanently without storing the stylus at another place.
this error, acompany me for more than one year know, made me considering to throw the brick away and getting me some nice palm pre - I am done with HTC.
