Just bought JasJar on Ebay. Seller swears speakers were working fine, but i cannot get them to work. All sounds work fine with headsets but i hear nothing without headsets. All mutes, settings, volumes are set correctly? Damn, just makes no sound. Have not installed sim card yet. Installed latest 1.30.76 rom? Am i missing something or just been screwed by Ebayer? Any suggestions would be great.
Search the forums...this has been covered before (and is probably the same cause) - most likely it's the headphone socket not registering the jack has been removed.

Since imates support is terrible ill post my issue here to see how i should proceed.
I got my jasjar in a few days ago and its never worked right. The speakers and mics on the phone would cut in and out and sometime not work at all. Ive had to use a bluetooth headset (the wired headset port also works) mostly because I *need* a phone for work. I mate told me to flash the device with the recent firmware (also does anybody have a link to a one more recent than on imate site?) cause I might be missing files but that didnt help.
Is the phone just broken? In which case ill have to keep having to putup with imates crappy support to try and get an rma
Im still a little cheesed about the frequency difference for 3G in the us
Hi,
I would like to use qtek9100 as an mp3 player. I have gone through many posts to find a suitable MP3 player for qtek. So that problem is solved.
The only issue right now is that the orignal wired headset is so pathetic that it just doesnt stay in my ears. I would like to use my normal headphones to play the MP3 music from my qtek.
Is "2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter/ converter" all thats required for this. Are there any other considerations that I am not aware of ?
Please let me know.

PS. I am waiting for an official A2DP release, if at all it comes. So till then this method is quite okay for me.
the adaptor is all that's required.
The problem with an audio adapter is that there are a half-dozen proprietary setups for these connectors depending on the specific phone, so the one you buy may not work, and even if it has three bands (four-conductor) on the 2.5mm male connector it won't necessarily work. I found one on Ebay that works with my T-Mo MDA, and it's cheap at around $7 including shipping:

There are others from on-line sellers like PocketPCTechs, but they cost over twice as much (~$20 including shipping). This Ebay item seems well-made and I've been using it for about a month with my Shure E3C earbuds. This does not replace the functionality of the original cable with microphone, etc., but will allow you to listen to MP3's on your 3.5mm earphones.
I also purchased another adapter on Ebay and it works well too. It gives phone functionality like the original, although I don't use it because it is more cumbersome to carry around at the gym, where I use the MP3 player most often. It adds more cable length, which isn't needed. It is a Hong Kong dealer and I received my adapter in seven days to the U.S.

Make sure the one you order specifies the "T-Mobile Pocket PC phone." This one costs even less at $5.50 including shipping from HK. That's hard to beat.

Thanks

Hi. Thanks a lot for your response. I never knew that they had a proprietary connector setup as well. I followed your first link. The only thing that confused me is that the seller is from NJ and it will cost abt 5.69$ including shipping.
It says
Compatible Model: MDA SDA STM5600
Compatible Brand: T-Mobile MDA SDA STM5600
Condition: New
Just wanted to make sure that I am looking at the same product you are suggesting. Let me know
Thanks again

PS. I went with your first link since I am not interested in having the mic functionality. Its messy
First post here but I figured I can actually help out so I'll jump in...
First off the one from PPC techs doesn't work, I bought it and sent it back it only plays from the right side when plugged in. Tech support told me they mapped the wrong part number to the wizard and don't have a replacement. This seemed fishy but I sent my adapter back and I'm currently awaiting a refund. In the mean time I went to radio shack and bought the el cheapo adapter they sell and it works perfectly. In fact it even enables the internal microphone for use in the car if your so inclined to do so. Best of all it was $3.99 and local. Sure it's ugly, but it's temporary; I'll be getting a 6" corded version soon from a Treo 650 vendor since they seem to be the same.

I just got the phone activated on my x7501. Tested the AT&T Connection and it works fine.
Paired 2 different Bluetooth headsets to the x7501. A Plantronics 655 and a Blueant Z9. Both pair fine and I can initiate a call and even set the voice dialing to dial someone. I can get a beep in the headset when someone calls me and can pick up the call. However, as soon as I connect the call I can hear nothing in the BT headset. No audio of any kind from the x7501. If I turn hands-free off then it defaults to the speakerphone and I can complete the call. This happens the same with BOTH BT earpieces.
Any ideas? I contacted HTC and all they would suggest was a Hard reset. I would rather not have to reload all my apps, but if it is the only way..........
Thanks
Joe
Hello. I had exactly the same problem with my 7501. Your phone is probably defective. I spent 3 months trying to get this fixed. I posted on this site & several others looking for a solution. Nothing. I also spent dozens of hours doing hard resets, downloading 3rd party Bluetooth programs, all to no avail. I had several conversations with HTC tech support, still no fix. I tried a Jawbone, a Plantronics 510, & an LG Style-i. None worked. No audio just as you described. Everything paired, connected, dialed out, got incoming calls etc. but no audio. Now for the good news. Mine is now fixed & working perfectly. I had to send it to the HTC repair facility in Houston Texas, twice. The first time they sent it back it still didn't work. The second time it came back fixed & is working perfectly. Even some of the other programs are working better. The first time I was told they replaced the UMTS module & the audio module. The last time they replaced the "main board". This is a long answer to a short question but I wish I had known this when I started. I hope this helps. Mine is under warranty & was fixed at no charge other than the shipping to them. You will need to call HTC repair service, not tech support, & they will tell you how to handle this......
Thanks Grossa,
I have been talking to tech support last friday and was advised to cal for an RMA # Got that this morning and will be sending it in tonight.
How fast did they turn it around? I need my phone for a trip the ennd of next week. Thanks for your response
Joe
Good, you're on the right track. It took about 10 days total, including shipping both ways. I live in North Georgia & the shipping took 2 days each way. Your times may me different. They actually turned it around pretty fast considering 4 days shipping, plus there was a weekend in there too. Hopefully they will fix yours in one trip. You might want to put a note in the box reminding them that they just had one out there with the same problem. So far mine is still working perfect. I use an LG Style-i & like it so much I have ordered a second one for backup, $25.00 on Amazon. I can't/won't use a headset. Everyone says the LG sounds better than the 7501 when talking to them. HTH...........
Thanks Grossa,
It went out last night.
I wrote a note as to what the problem was and also included a print out of this thread. Hopefully they will fix it the first time. Figure I will hit walmart for a prepaid phone I can put my SIM card into as a backup. The C168i is < $20.
Thanks for your help.
Joe
Let us know how it turns out.
Hi,
on my htc wizard the internal speaker (for phone) and microphone stopped working. if i connect the headset it works, i can use the phone with it and talk to people. if i disconnect the headset, i cannot hear anything and the communication partner does not hear me. might this be a software issue or is a hardware problem more likely?
i think it might be the jack for the headset, since the display still works and all connections are established using one cable between the parts of the phone. And it is rather unlikely that the speaker and the microphone break at the same time. am i correct in assuming the same logic/amplifier circuit is used for the headset jack and the internel microphone/speakers?
disregard that, after penetrating the headset jack with a needle it works again...
Wizard
Ok, now I have been reading and reading on how to flash the HTC Wizard aka 8125's and I got everything but what I really don't know is...does the sims card need to be in the phone and am I looking to write a unlock code down when and if I see one. I have tried to flash my phone three times and I still can not do it. Even though I am reading the ever detailed and fully understandable directions, I am missing something. Can someone tell what it is?
I just got the Cect P168+ iphone clone (I do not like it) and I really really want to stay with my smartphone and I really want the rom flashed and upgraded, please help me. Someone may even eme to my personal email ([email protected]) if this needs to be done away from this site.
Thanks so much.

Microsoft claims this was fixed with nodo. I am still having problems, volume goes up and down echos etc. Anyone else?
Same here... volume goes up and down (no echos) '04 Acura TL
Busted my bluetooth so haven't been able to test it out, but can one of you guys try taping up the mic pretty good and testing out the music over B/T that way? I had a funny suspicion about it before i fried my unit trying to incorporate it into my honda.
I too have the volume problem, but not the echo problem (not that I notice, anyway). It seems to be a little better since the NoDo update, but not what I had hoped. I'm using the Jawbone Icon, which worked flawlessly with my old Fuze.

Agree, the old Fuze worked great with Bluetooth and the Fuze had rSAP support too (which the Focus DESPERATELY needs!!!!!!!!).
