Anyone know if its possible to get windows media visualizations on the phone?
The only player i know that does this is pocket player 2.7 from conduits - trial at pocketgear.com
nice one mate, will give it a go, but is there any kind of limits or restrictions on a trial version?
yes there was a limit 14 days i think. Found it a bit slow as was a real resource hogger. device prob needs to be overclocked for it to run well.
No plugins for standard wm player though
hmmm i may just leave it then, wish there was a free mp3 player up that supported stuff like visualizations etc

Hi All,..
I've just bought the MDA Pro from T-Mobile, and am amazed about the Screen resolution. I only can't set the Screen when playing streaming video (news etc) to Full screen. I have set the option "adjust screen size" but this won't help.
Does someone had an solution for me?
Best regards,..
A Donker
Imate aknowledge this as a problem on their website but it's still njot fixed int he latest rom. Irritaing. I just use CoreMediaPlayer to play my WMV's instead (and my mpg,s and my divx's etc etc)
Core Media Player rocks. I wouldn't waste time with anything else!
re
I should stop reading but it's like an addiction lol. I keep getting confused ?
Core media players is for Desktop PCs with windows XP etc isn't it ?
do they make a WM5 or pocket pc version and if so where can u download it ?
I use betaplayer for WM5, works great with everything i've tried so far.
Cheers, Numb

Hey, does anyone know a good all in one media player (plays all the major format, wmv, mpeg, avi, etc).
I use sometimes coreplayer but has more glitches than Windows media player.
I think windows media player gives a more smoother performance but lacks in versitility with regards to the different formats it can play.
Is there any codec for Windows media player

Hi,
I'm looking for the same thing. I use PocketMedia which is great however i can't use today toolbar plug-in b/c every time i exit the program it shuts down (even when i click on minimize). i don't know how to fix that, any suggestions?
Besides that, i use WMP10 but it drives me crazy that i doesn't memorize previously opened files. any idea how to fix that?
Of course everyone says that TCMPT player is the best but unfortunately the interface of this program does not satisfy me Can you change the skin?
Take care,
Tom
Hi tom
I dont have answers to any of your questions. I am fairly new to this pocket pc world and recently started exloring its capabilities.
Does WMP10 plays all major movie formats?
reason i dont really want to use WMP is because it eats up memory. Want a player that plays all format and uses little memory
Hello,
I just purchased a Mogul. My first task was to apply the official Sprint WM6.1 update, which applied with no trouble.
I am now looking for a media player that will play videos I have converted for an Ipod Touch. Windows Media player does not do it. So I tried a version of TCPMP for WM, but it won't even come up.
So I bit the bullet and purchased a licensed copy of the CorePlayer. This is supposed to be the best their is, but it freezes up when I play most video files, including simple MPEG1 files. I suspect it has not been tested extensively on WM6.1
So .. is there any other media player I can try?
There is a new version of TCPMP posted here on the forum - with source code. You need to get that and you also need to extract 2 DLLs from WM5 into you windows directory. This will allow you to play all wma files (otherwise TCPMP won't even see them). If you can't find either of these files, let me know and I'll post links to them sometime in the next couple days.
ALSO, you will need to customize TCPMP to set the buffer settings that work best on your phone. In general the phones are a step back from pure PDAs like a circa 2005 Toshibe e750, but you can get them to play without skipping if you balance them right and/or select low quality playback in TCPMP.
TCPMP is nice, but after trying Core I stuck with that. I like the more refined look, and the equalizer has a few more sliders.
Both are great though.

I'll willingly purchase but would love to first see a full listing of the changes to see what I am getting for my buck. Have you seen any comparisons or could you do a fuller review yourself?

Where can i find those 2 dll files? i've installed the correct version which works on 6.1 but the movies i've played, skipped... Do anyone have an idea what i can do, so that the movies played correct? What settings do i have to change?
well this costs 20.00 but i truly think it is, hands down, the best audio player you will get (not best video) but for audio it is extremely nice. http://www.conduits.com/news/pr20080820.html

That's a $25 commercial program. I hope this file is only the 30-day trial.
I have a NAS server with Twonky media server which is DLNA compatible, so devices like the Playstation 3 can stream audio and video off the network.
Anybody knows about a DLNA compatible player for the Diamond / Pocket PC platform?
Media Player 11 for Windows Vista is compatible, se also http://www.twonkyvision.com/Products/TwonkyMedia/devices.html
I think it would be cool if I could use the Diamond as a kind of "wireless" device for playing music when I'm home!
help please
I too have a NAS server, and woud like to know if this is possible. I can not check myself, as the touch pro has not released in the US. Any help wouldbe appreciated. Thanks.
BUMP
Tversity may be
I managed to get TVersity working for playing video but the performance wasn't that great, maybe because of the transcoder settings. I need to give it another go when I rebuild my server as it is dying at the moment.
Here is how I did it:
- Install FlashLite 3.1
- Start Opera and go to http://ipaddress: port/flashlib
Navigation is a bit slow but it works. Haven't tried music but you could give Pocket Player with the UPnP plugin a go. You might need Hamachi if you are not at home
To answer my own question - I guess Lobstertunes http://www.lobstertunes.com/
could be an alternative. The GUI seems dated though and the each tune show up twice in the listings...
thought it'd be easy
I really thought it would be easy to find a UPnP DLNA Media player for pocket pc, but I was way off. You'd think this would be one of the basics these days.
where is UPnP
I have had trouble finding A DLNA/UPnP client/player that works on 6.5.x for a long time now. Can't find one that works for android either.
Quite annoying the progress windows mobile has made through all these years.
I've been looking for a media player dlna compliant for WM 6.5.3.
Finally I found pocket player 4.0 (by Conduits). One catch once the program is installed you will have to update the plugins for Upnp support. To do this goto "menu" --> "More...." --> "Options...." then choose the plugin tab..."update now".
But I have to admit it works like charm with my Iomega IX2 acting as media server. Album art is also supported.
Not for free but much better than all the junk apps i've run into sofar.

Thank you so much for this post. When the time comes to retire my TP2, I will use it as a DLNA client. I've been looking for this software for quite a while.
Would it support Plex and myPlex?

I'm on my 3rd TouchPro 2. (I went through scads of XV6600's during the six year love affair the carriers had with tiny screens.)
Would this app work as a client for Plex? Even better, could it be used remotely over the internet with a myPlex login?

Anyone willing to make a cab off this? Looks like a neat player I'd like to try.
Kinoma is much better..
http://kinoma.com/
i wish i could agree with that assessment crazylilboy. ive tried kinoma. and havent gotten to neromobile just yet. but, kinoma SUCKS!! cool interface and that's where the positive end. it hijacks all ur file associations so you cant play anything straight from file explorer as it becomes unrecognized. it scans ALL my folders for media even crap that is in program files and other directories that arent media related as thats what support says it shouldnt be scanning. lastly, and this really isnt all. movie playback is crap compared to coreplayer. it only supports 3 file types, one of which a normal person would use or encode their movies to(mp4). u cant decent quality because u have to keep the bitrate soo low for it not to freeze or chop up. so, ill try this as it cant get much worse and if u need other reasons NOT to use Kinoma, PM me
OH, and thanks for the find on Neromobile

+1 true that
lol!! too hilarious crazlilboy

So, what do you guys say is the best music player anyway, with a good combination interface and features. I really didn't like S2P due to the lack of sorting by ID3 tags and lack of equalizer et all, Touch player(samsung's bundled with omnia) is OK, and Kinoma is speedy and all yeah, but not that big on features. Any other alternatives.
And uhm, cab possible? Or just the installed folder zipped?
A good Music Player for WM... theres a number of them but it all depends on personal preference and there are a couple which do stand above the crowd such as Conduit's Pocket Player and PocketMind PocketMusic.
s2p is obviously the best music player.
as for video.. i'd go with coreplayer.
Already tested neromobile but I still prefer TCPMP for stable and light, or s2p for it´s nice design
TCPMP v0.81 + Plugins (Unofficial)

Thanx to teixeirabmb for providing this
for me is coreplayer and pocket player
CorePlayer + Opal YouTube + S2P (because it kicks ass) + WMP for playlist = too many media apps, but it's all I need, also MobiTV !
i use mortplayer with iphone skin
i just luv how you can track change using gestures...
i use my phone as car music player so i dont like looking for buttons while driving
I tried Nero Mobile more than a year ago.
I will not try that again....ever, not if there are other choices out there.
Some of you mentioned S2P, I thought S2P is just a shell for WMP. Is it actually a player?
A Cab File Please..
Can anyone here provide a cab file for neromobile please.I'll be much thankful for the help.Please.....
