Yes, you can do that but your 818Pro will have European/Australian GSM settings instead of Asian. You need to flash the DopodAsia Extended_rom if you want those Asian settings.

I am in Australia currently, and bought my Dopod in Singapore. I am currently facing the Sleep-To-Death (STD) problem on my Dopod so I am wondering if I should try the imate ROM...

Imate Jamin rom on Dopod 818-Pro (Hong-Kong)
I tried flashing my 818-pro with the Jamin Rom... stoped after 95% (assuming when validating the device ID) and informed that the rom is not for my device... left the 818-pro dead!. My only way to recover was, to flash with MDA compact rom to bring it live again and than load through awizard the 818-pro WWE version from this FTP.
Conclusions:
1. Imate decided to disable an incorrect device???? (perhaps un-intentially).. therefore avoid using the Imate RRU utility.
2. flash NBA through the Awizard utility.
Question how to separate the Extended Rom from the NK.NBA provided ???

I don't think so. I have successfully flashed my Dopod 818Pro with Imate JAMin. However, I flashed it back to DopodAsia ROM because it's not a newer ROM.

If you still can get your Dopod to the Bootloader mode, you may try to flash it with this Imate ROM. Better than STD I guess. Good luck!
(To get it to Bootloader, press Camera button and reset the unit. Holding the camera button until you see four color bars. Insert USB connector and run the ROM file.)

Thanks for the advice Khuanchai, I might want to try this out, but am worried about getting a failed flash like in Dubi's case. It will be difficult for me to send my 818Pro for repair as there are no Dopod service centres here in Australia.
Do I need to take special precautions before running the update, such as applying the unlock CID option using the aWizard tool?

Not sure you need to unlock CID in order to flash a new ROM only but it's a must if you want to backup your Dopod ROM. I have done this to backup my Dopod ROM that can be flashed back whenever I want.
I think Dubi has failed because of incomplete downloaded file.

Unfortunately, this is in Thai but it's easy to follow if you have some experience on flashing ROM.

Thanks for the remarks.... however... My phone has been originally Chinese and I loaded the 818pro rom wwe avaiable here on the FTP> however by mistake I flashed it before with an MDA compac rom which installed a wierd Extended Rom which I can't get rid of, unleass I have a good "ship" version. Tried few time to flash the Imate Jamin rom and it quited after 95%. I am currently using the Imate version.. dated Jan 9th. which I was able to finalize with lot's of tricks such as complete the RRU by lading just a radio version.... I think (just feeling) that the Dopod818 pro wwe is better.... however in order to resolve my complete issues and to let you know if it fialed (95%) becuase of Imate or becasue of a strange Extendedrom that I have I need to have access to a "SHIP" WWE Asia version. Placed a request here on the Board but so far no one Uploaded it... Yet.
I can ensure you that My phone is CID unlocked etc. etc.... Tried some RRUs but None could identify the Imate nk.nba rom., while the original RRU of imate failes on 95%.. keep anouncing that the rom is not for me???!!!

I have backed up my Dopod 818Pro's original ROM (English version) to a BIN file that needs to write to an SD card before flashing the unit. If you want to try, please find a place that I could upload to.

Here is the original Dopod 818Pro ROM (WWE) with instructions. I had difficulty uploading file but finally finished. Let me know if you find the file incomplete.

Im probably missing something here, but isnt it enough just using Machinagod great No ID crack when upgrading a ROM?
Just copy it to the nbf files and run it, works like a charm.

I don't know the app you're talking about, but we're talking here about downgrading, not upgrading a rom...
Moreover, does your application remove CID on prophet with SPL 2.xx ?

doesn't work for me, once run the downgrading program, I soft reset but the device stay blocked on splah and I can't connect back to active sync to run the unlock program... too bad, that seemed to be a good way to downgrade rom :?

...great work! just used it on my qtek s200 that i've accidently flashed with the latest o2 germany rom without cid-unlocking before. now i can really put any rom on it

Actually I tried various time... I'm on the last Dopod rom, i started as said, then when I reboot, the device is stuck on dopod splash screen...
So I have to go into the boot loader in order to reflash the dopod rom I have... at least I can do that and keep my S200 working
Maybe this doesn't work with the last Dopod rom, but at least it worked for others

we need a Thai to Eng. translation to understand the problem
Unfortunately my device can not continue with second step. After I softreset it; the device freezes. Neither hardresetting, nor putting in bootloader and continuing with hard or soft reset helps. I reflashed the latest Dopod ROM and continued to use it.
I can not read Thai language but from the original discussion (not english but in Thai language) I see that a number of people are having the same problem. I also understand that the suggested solution works for some others.
The english version is not a full translation of the original discussion; translation of a lot of answers are missing.
We need the help of our Thai friends to understand what is going on.

I guess that it works on certain rom version, if you've the dopod one like I had, then it confirm that this method is useless with the last dopod rom...
But we have confirmation it work with other roms... maybe it's not really working on SPL 2... roms :?

I took a look on the Thai version, now it's clear that it doesn't work on the last dopod rom SPL 2.15 !!!!!!!

cedrick - Sorry you have failed to CID-unlock your Prophet and congratulations to lutzh that has succeeded.
From the Thai version of this utility, many people could unlock their devices but some did fail to do that. Not sure only the SPL 2.15 or not that couldn't be unlocked but at least 2 people claimed that their devices are SPL 2.15.
The website programmers are still trying to investigate and find the solution to help people who failed. Please hang on. Good luck!

Now I hope it will also work on the dopod rom as I really liked it and I would like to update my prophet with this rom. But I prefer to wait until there's a way to get back to whatever rom :wink:

I am new to this forum which i just joined today. Currently i am trying to figure out my newly bought SPV M600 from u.k but i m located in Malaysia. Any errors or failure on my SPV M600 will be a nightmare for me because i cannt get back to U.K and fix the SPV M600.
After i surf through the whole prophet section, i didnt able to get a proper guidelines on updating the ROM in SPV M600 to Dopod 818 pro ROM. First of all is it possible that i update the Dopod 818 Pro latest ROM? Is it compatible?
If yes please teach me the right ways to perform it. I really scare that my SPV M600 will be gone.
Any specific intruction on the update? To make it perfect?

Don't worry about your SPV m600 ther's no need to get it back to UK..You just have to search around in this forum..go to Prophet Section, surely you'll find tolls nedded and instruction

what is the SPL / IPL of your phone?
I have an M600 myself and on an Orange ROM and wonderig if the Dopod ROM is better and the pros and cons of upgrading from orange to dopod.
Also pls be sure that once you have flashed to a non orange rom u cant go back to the orange rom as it aint available nowhere.

Be aware that if you upgrade to Dopod, there's no turning back for now with this rom, meaning you won't be able to downgrade until a solution is found.
I have installed myself that dopod rom instead of the orange FR one, and I think it have better speed, but appart of that, don't really see the difference appart from some stuff missing in the dopod (like pvplayer for live tv and the rotate screen) and some useless stuff in dopod like auto config for Asian phone providers.
In my case I've update to dopod because it was the better rom atm and I wanted to get rid of that AZERTY french keyboard config which is far from handy on a phone and have a QWERTY.
Now it's up to you to know if you wanna risk it :wink:

Now my Dopod M700 is dead, and I can only enter Bootloader and can do nothing more because of "Invalid Model ID" and "Invalid Vender ID" errors.
I want to know some thing:
- Does PB + KITL method help like with Hermes devices (Is KITL mode exits in Artemis?)
- Can Imei-Check help on this situation
- Is there any solutions yet?

Yes, it could be the best solution for now.. but .. unfortunately there is no ROM image for Dopod M700. I could not find it anywhere. Please share if anyone has it.
- Does anyone know what is the CID of Dopod M700? DOPOD001 I expected but it seems not to be that one. I will try to build custom ROM

Thanks 29a, I got the error "INVALID VENDER ID". Yes, because my Dopod M700 first came with Chinese Language (CHT) and the above is WWE so actually it will raise the Error. I would like to have some Utility to bypass Language check. Actually I bricked my phone because I wanted to change to English.
So please does anyone have Chinese version please share. I would like to have it alive first.

Yes, Its really a good Idea. I dont have C3v1Unlock.zip because it was removed, so I downloaded C3V2Unlock.zip. Any time I run C3V2Unlock.exe my Computer reboots. I then changed the ROMUpdateUtility.exe and RUU_signed.nbh as instructed. But when I ran ROMUpdateUtility.exe i got "Invalid Update Tool" Error. Yes, I realized that because i have broke the Checksum when modifying ROMUpdateUtility.exe
Any idea else please!

I had that problem too. After reformatted my computer, the unlocker was running fine and successfullt unlocked ARTE200 (Orbit.)
Try using other computer or reformat your computer then reflash using the unlocker.
(or if you can make C3V2 run without reformatting, do so. coz i was donno what's wrong)

Thanks Jackey, the problem is ImeiCheck utilities run only if you are in Windows mobile with activesync connected, it does not affect if you can only enter bootloader. My Dopod M700 is still dead. Please comment

MDA Compact 2 Upgrade Error (95%)

Hello,
I wanted to upgrade my MDA Compact 2 to AKU3.
I started the update tool, like described in the forum here. The progressbar
on my MDA screen appears and when 95% are reached the update tool give me the ERROR [302]: UPDATE ERROR.
The reset of my MDA gives me only the 3color Boot-Loader Screen with the following Numbers:
IPL 2.06.0001
SPL 3.08.0001
and RUU in the right top corner.
Has anyone an idea to solve this problem, an downgrade to the old AKU2 can also not be done, because i get always the error about an wrong vendor ID.
I read a thread, to unlock CID, but this is not possible in Bootloader Mode, or?

Hello,
I solved my problem!!
I installed the Radio ROM Upgrade:
ftp://[email protected]/Uploads/Prophet/Prophet-roms/Radio_ROMs/Prophet_G3_G4_RadioRom_v2.69.21.exe
and it works.
There is maybe at 95% the Radio ROM Upgrade, and this worked not with the AKU 3.3 Image.

No, it won't help you. It's the radio rom, so it will not fit your wizard. You can try to flash any radio rom for wizard or any splash.

I have the same error on my Charmer with the AKU3.3, downloaded from the German T-mobile HP. Now I want to solve the problem with your described Radio-Rom but it is not downlodable from ftp://[email protected]/Up...adio_ROMs/Prophet_G3_G4_RadioRom_v2.69.21.exe !! What can I do??

it is downloadable, just type in password "xda".
