ROM versions - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Could someone explain in what way qtek roms are set? And what's the latest of them? I just saw that 2.17.7.1 SVE got out today
but what about
186504-ruu_9100_2170702_21707102_20710_qtek_wwe_ship.exe
is that 2.17.7.2? and what does the 20710 stand for, ext rom? And is this a later version then the SVE one?
There are also some RUU_Prodigy_1060701_101_11310_QTEK_WWE_Ship.exe on the xda ftp.
1.6.7.1 ? What's the difference between 1.6.7.1 and the 2.17.7.2?

There's a lot of differences. The main difference is that the 2.x ROMs are AKU2 - Push e-mail and whatnot. They were supposed to have A2DP as well (stereo bluetooth), but that got pulled in the end. Furthermore it's supposedly more stable, faster, less battery hungry, and has some additional utilities - nicer COMM mamanger, (lame, imho, as it replaces the clock on the Today screen, no matter what) battery meter in the task bar, time in the Date Today item, etc. On the other hand, it has that battery meter in the task bar ( read above on why I think it's lame %) ), the ExtROM can't be edited (yet), there's less space for data, and some users are reporting odd battery behavior.
1.6.7.1 is probably the best WWE (World Wide English) ROM to go with if you're not yet ready to jump to an AKU2 ROM.
I'm waiting for Qtek.nl to officially post their ROM updates and hopefully provide a full list of what's new/different.

Thanks for the reply. Yea the SVE is swedish, just thought about the version of it.
I'm currently running the 2.8.7.1 WWE which has worked very nicely without missing calls or sms as I did with the the one that came with the phone. Guess I'll stick with that until a newer WWE comes out that's worth updating to

Some bugs/issues noted sofar on my Qtek 9100:
- Backlight goes dark sometimes (with certain settings) in standby. (HIGH)
- WLAN turns off after a reboot.
- Process gwes crash the device and what to send an error report. Works fine with error reporting off. (HIGH)
- When keys are locked and a call is answered, then Phone application is unable to close without releasing key lock.
- Keyboard backlight does not stay on long enough and there is no way to adjust this.
- Sound quality using built-in hands free is bad.

或许你可以尝试19xxx/202xx,虽然没有太多新特性,但不是那么耗电!
207xx/209xx[Aku1.4/Aku1.5]是一种新特性的版本,但很耗电!
In my opinion sun_dream's 20758 ROM is the best so far. I've been using it since it came out and I was impressed how blazing fast was when I installed it

I'm not agree with you.
I have several issues with sundream's new rom.
Slow speed and battery draining are the most annoying problems of them...
My battery goes up to 3 days depending on what I'm doing on the pda . Sometimes I charge it every day but it is with a lot of entertaining during the day - games, one or two movies, listening to music, calls, chat, but if I use it normally the battery is enough for two days But this is only my opinion
P.S. I use the BA @ 530mhz with stock battery .

sun_dream's rom is ultra-fast and stable. I have flashed at least 2 dozens ROM before....
By the way, as sun_dream said above, if you want longest battery life, use older ROM before .199

yes, mustking, i think sun_dream wants to build a vanilla type of rom for users to customize themselves. Also, because BA's rom flashing images are much smaller than the hermes (like 25mb vs. 55mb), so cookers have much harder time even to get the image into the tight space, let alone extra utilities.
at any rate, sun_dream's rom is UC capable, so you can make it however you like it.
Use xplode's SD card extrom. contains HTC Home, HTC Flash Lite (if u dun wanna install IE8+Flashlite 3, Adobe reader, MMS, and some other minor software
(only works if u havent reformatted ur extrom partition to 128KB)
u can make ur own extrom by editing the cfg and adding ur cabs

Yes, true. But they may include good utilities such as HTC Home, Slice, Connections wizard in EXT Rom.

Yes, but i exactly mean to say that they may include it in EXT ROM with the ROM compressed file. Because some time say certain developer already included the HTC Task manager in the ROM and many of us like the Task manager of the PDAVIET Rom. So, if they only provide the different task managers in the EXT Rom and allow us the customize it our self. Then it will be a good thing i think.
mustking, I have merged the ext rom in wm2003 to create the 60M space, so I don't have that in wm6.1 now (or do I??? ) So, assuming ext rom is not available for users like me, it is safer for cooker to build rom that without, no?

I am not sure that how much space is available in WM6.1 for the EXT ROM. But, just including the utilities in the EXT ROM will be good step instead of searching foe the latest cabs...

Hi,
I do not know if IR is indeed working on this version, because I have not tried it, but the proper way to switch on IR might be:
Start - Settings - Connections - Beam - tick "Receive all incoming beams "

just picked up a rom version 1.19 HD

Just bought my HTC HD in Thailand, shipped from Hong Kong with Italian manuals however the rom is 1.19.831.0 and rom date 11/27/08. Forgive me if this isn't news, I haven't seen anything other than 1.14!
After the diamond i am very impressed. Upgrades to all on screen menus but particularly the quick dialing menu on the people screen makes it almost worth using over the normal phone menu. Someone's obviously been listening to the niggles that were a barrier to immersion with previous HTC products...
No flash out the box tho despite thumb nails and previews showing on certain sites and the battery doesn't look like its as good as has been mentioned but on the whole very pleased after 4 hours play.
Amerisoft is slower than Super, QMC and SPB mobile DVD! I'm weeping for my lost childhood

radio version is 1.09.25.14 protocol 52.49a.25.26U
I don't have this info tab to find build however in the "about" i have CE OS 5.2.20764 build 20764.1.4.3
ROm 1.19.831.0 (25581) WWE
I don't know what that all signifies but the fact that when i hang up from a call from an unknown number and it offers me the ability to save to an existing contact (ala most new phones), thus saving the tedium of copy and pasting... i like!
Battery life should improve after a few charging cycles.
I really like to know what has been fixed in v1.19 ROM.
Please can you do a QWERTY test and type really fast in office word and see you get the few seconds delay/lag where nothing responds. This may be fixed in your ROM version?
why is this ROM not available for d/l on the HTC website ??
h, i'm a rom neewbie but i was wondering why the updated rom isn't a 15 something and jumped from 14 to 19 ......? i oftenly go in thailand and you know you can find a lot of really well made fake devices with WM running on them ..... i will ask a friens to check it in Bangkok
interesting
Has anybody noticed that the protocol version !!!
This rom has radio version 1.09.25.14 protocol 52.49a.25.26U
Mine is 52.49a.25.26W
Last time I went to school W came after U.
my Rom 1.14 has radio version 1.09.25.14 protocol 52.49a.25.26U
I'm confused
I bought my HD at Hong Kong a week ago and I got
1.18.832.2 (23358) CHT
11/18/08
1.09.25.14
52.49a.25.26U
and quote from www.htc.com
"Note: This hot fix can only be installed in ROM version less than 1.19.xxx.x. To check your ROM version, tap Start > "
there should be a 1.19.xxx.x. ROM verson

the major fix was the system response time.
however, if someone with 1.19 rom can check the build # of the Opera browser, it would be good. I have heard rumours that we (end customers) can only get updates to Opera browser from HTC, because for the time being it is very platform specific. ie. if you download the latest build from opera website, it will not fully work with touch HD (looks very very ugly with squished menus and such)

ROM 1.66 versus 1.48

Hi all,
The Dutch version of the 1.66 ROM has just been released and I would like to know what are the main differences between 1.48 and 1.66. Is it worth to upgrade and install everything again (a hell of a job).
Tnaks in advance, Kuzibri
I think the best thing for you would be reading through this forum... There are at least 10 threads that handle your "issue".
I know, I have done that for most of them, but I'm, of course, mainly interested in the findings of members that already used the leaked Dutch version. There seems to be differences in ROMS between countries.
The biggest changes are:
* SMS Bug fixed
* Lock Screen works now
* Proximity Sensor seems to work all the time now
* Device runs smoother
at least for me
thanks for your kind and fast reply.
The dutch version is out :O Thanks for telling, vriend
I would like to know if 1.66 is worth it or not as well. Talking about the Dutch version. Also a noob question: all your installed programs (games, tweaks, etc) will be gone right? Everything that is on your SD card will not get removed I assume? And will all programs work normal or do we have to wait for all the programs to get updated to roon on 1.66?
Would appriciate the help! Kind regards.
Games, Tweaks, etc will be deleted! SD is untouched..
Most/all of the programs work! There is an issue with the battery % indicator but theres already a fix for it!
Before you upgrade, backup your contacts, calender and other important stuff ( notes or whatever)

Thank you very much for this information. Will have to search for that battrty % fix because I use a custom notifications bar (the default one is ugly imo) which includes a nice 1% battery indicator.
So overall, it is good to go 1:66. Just going to have to start over after upgrading. Maybe a good thing so I can get rid of all the junk I dont use: a general cleening process

A bit weird though that this ROM update is not present on the general HD2 support site (where you normally can find all updates for the HD2), but that it is placed(you would almost say: is hidden) in the ROM update category.

Most stable ROM ?

have any one found a STABLE ROM that thay used for 2-3 days without soft reset ?
im trying to find most stable ROM possible, preferably 6.5.3 or above, but the one i can trust not to hang for 2,3 days of hard core use as Music Player, Web Browser and Online connection to MSN/Skype for 24Houers.
with or without HTC Sence.
at the moment im not that concern about performance as any rom is still faster then my old treo pro lol
yup, a stock one.
I´m using the official one and no problems.
1.48 or 1.66 ? if 1.48 then why not 1.66 ?

You should try the Official 1.66.405.2 WWE ... it's most stable ROM for daily usage... it's included all the fixes from HTC ... so there is no problem... try it
just installed 1.66 ... installing all the soft i use, just installed Smaberg White 1 percent battery thing that makes % appear above the battery, now i have little black square next to it... but i guess that a different issue

will try that soon prob on Monday, i been using freyberry Premium_nomess V6 or whatever the latest one is, for a while (i hate HTC messaging) but it hangs occasional especially over night, i have to do a soft reset every morning for some reason which make it useless as alarm clock (although i have suspicion it maybe due to someting i install or combination of stuff i install coz no one else seems to have that problem)
but i kinda need HTC Album (facebook uploading) i guess its not in bearbone so i will try WMPhone version or something

next time do a search
Dutty's HG V.08. actually in HD2 i never get stuck..
Two weeks without a softreset that's thruly amazing especially
if you consider that WM 6.5.5 is not official and beta.
No mather which rom I use but everyday I do a softreset, kind of a habbit.
Currently I'm using the 2.07 T-Mob.
@Vladimir, no offence but I don't think you can open a thread like this and pick a rom based on the experiences people tell you here.
I think you need to test yourself as everyone has a different use/experience with a rom.
Just my 2 cents

I'm using MIRI's 6.5 ROM.
I have found it to be completely stable. I have to avoid 6.5.x ROMs 'cos Memory Map doesn't work properly on them.
The stock ROM is stable, but it's a mess! They should have included a way to tidy the cluttered start menu. Things are improved by installing BSB Tweaks.
IMHO there is no such thing as the perfect ROM!
There are number of factors to consider that can effect the overall stabilty of a ROM be it stock or cooked, a ROM that one person might find it to be flawless, the other might have issues, remember not all bugs are ROM related so consider the following points:-
- The 3rd party apps you use
- The network you are on
- The radio version you use or combination of the radio & rom
I'm currently using stock 1.66 ROM not that it's the best but it's been the most stable for my apps and daily use!
One thing that frustrates me is the lack of constructive feedback you get from people flashing various stock or cooked ROM's it's allways comments like "This ROM is very fast and stable" or "this the best ROM I've tried" what's funny is that you get these comments when they've only used the ROM for couple of hours or in some cases just 5 minutes!!!!
IMHO you must use the ROM for at least couple of days if not a week and once you've installed all your apps then you can establish how good the ROM is in your daily use only then you should give your feedback so that others can have a better idea of how the ROM really performs!!!
