Hi,
This is seems to be the last version of our magic tool - Screen Rotation Service (or SRS). It includes Second Edition's Today Theme (menu & today scrollers support in landscape) and feature to automatically resize your today screen for Landscape Theme!
(Download it here: setup.armv4.exe)
During installation you will need to answer "Yes" to this message:
Code:
The file"\Windows\ace_ddi.dll" is hidden, read-only, or a system file. Would you like to replace the existing file?
After installation you need to go to: [Start menu] - [Settings] - [Today] and select "WMSE" theme from the list
And one more, minimize (X) your programs before switching
Thanx to abc and everyone here!
Re: SRS HE = Halloween Edition
Feel free to post your feedback/questions on this version of SRS to this thread
More recommendations that i remember about SRS:
1) Do not soft-reset your device when in landscape-mode
2) Minimize (X) your programs when switching between different modes
To install SRS-HE:
1] Download SRS-HE to your PC
2] Run it to get "setup.armv4.cab"
3] Copy this file to your PDA
4] Tap on it to install SRS-HE
5] Soft-reset your device
6] Go to [Start Menu] -> [Settings] -> [Today]
7] Select "Wmse" Theme from the list
8] Use [Start Menu]->[Settings]->[SRS] to switch the modes

No it is installable on any Himalaya device with any combinations of ROM, radio and ExtROMs
If it doesn't run at your specific system, you can always uninstall it without any damage. It really worth to try!
Yeah, I have ROM 1.60 (latest O2 UK rom) and it didn't work very well at all. Half the OS had problems, including the camera (even v2.5), the Today screen and many of the Control Panel applets.
I've seen reports on this site of people having fewer problems with ROM 1.66, but I don't think anybody has claimed that they've got it working with ROM 1.60 without problems.
Still, I'm hoping O2 UK are going to release 1.72 tomorrow!

Where did you get such ROM version? And why you are not moving to 1.72? It doesn't really matter who the supplier of the ExtRom is (imate, qtec, tmob...) it is a matter of OS rom content. So, just update your device and receive a set of 1.72 advantages (faster BT binding, greater performance, no good CT and so on)

No updates so far...
Everything seems to work fine...
But now it's very important to have phone app, calc app, WMP and cam app setted to run in landscape mode.

I got the update from my service provider: O2 in the UK. It's the latest version available, at the moment. I don't need all the hassle of messing about with ROMs from other countries and providers. I'll wait until the next ROM is released by O2 for me. (Tomorrow.)

Well I guess the skins are not all we need to have them work in landscape mode. What we need are dll files who "teach" to app what skin to chose...

I have a sugestion for all of ya, I have SRS instaled on my mda II, and I like it, but don't ever set an alarm in landscape mode, my MDA was playing the stupid melody for quite a long before it stoped.
The reason is that there were no snoose an dismiss button.
Even a soft-reset won't help.
Maybe the action button, but mine stoped by itself.

Could someone explain in what way qtek roms are set? And what's the latest of them? I just saw that 2.17.7.1 SVE got out today
but what about
186504-ruu_9100_2170702_21707102_20710_qtek_wwe_ship.exe
is that 2.17.7.2? and what does the 20710 stand for, ext rom? And is this a later version then the SVE one?
There are also some RUU_Prodigy_1060701_101_11310_QTEK_WWE_Ship.exe on the xda ftp.
1.6.7.1 ? What's the difference between 1.6.7.1 and the 2.17.7.2?

There's a lot of differences. The main difference is that the 2.x ROMs are AKU2 - Push e-mail and whatnot. They were supposed to have A2DP as well (stereo bluetooth), but that got pulled in the end. Furthermore it's supposedly more stable, faster, less battery hungry, and has some additional utilities - nicer COMM mamanger, (lame, imho, as it replaces the clock on the Today screen, no matter what) battery meter in the task bar, time in the Date Today item, etc. On the other hand, it has that battery meter in the task bar ( read above on why I think it's lame %) ), the ExtROM can't be edited (yet), there's less space for data, and some users are reporting odd battery behavior.
1.6.7.1 is probably the best WWE (World Wide English) ROM to go with if you're not yet ready to jump to an AKU2 ROM.
I'm waiting for Qtek.nl to officially post their ROM updates and hopefully provide a full list of what's new/different.
Thanks for the reply. Yea the SVE is swedish, just thought about the version of it.
I'm currently running the 2.8.7.1 WWE which has worked very nicely without missing calls or sms as I did with the the one that came with the phone. Guess I'll stick with that until a newer WWE comes out that's worth updating to

Hi,
I've been trying to get the MDA Vario to vibrate when I get a new Email message, but it will very occasionally do it and the rest of the time it doesn't. I have ticked vibrate in Sounds and notifications, but its still abit hit and miss.
Can anybody help ?
Thanks in advance.
Ash.
Any chance you could maybe let us have a few details such as what ROM version you are using, any apps you use etc.. I'd have a look myself but It's hard for me to see your phone from here..
ROM Version : 2.21.2.6 WWE
ROM Date : 3/9/06 <---- American format
Radio version : 02.19.11
Protocol version : 4.1.13.09
ExtROM version : 2.21.2.109
I have got Pocketbreeze / Pocket weather / TT Navigator 5.21 / Resco 2005 Explorer.
The problem seems to be if the Backlight is on, then it will vibrate. If the Backlight is not on then it will not vibrate for new email, but will still vibrate for new SMS or voice calls.
Im not sure if this behaviour is by design or by fault.
Any ideas ??? I REALLY want the unit to vibrate for emails as its a really good function.
Ash99
OK - I have just tried some tests on my Wizard. With the backlight on I can receive text & email and both activate the vibration function.
With the device in standby (backlight off), a new email notifies and vibrates but does not take the device out of standby. A new SMS both vibrates and turns on the device.
I don't run any of the apps you listed. Have you thought about upgrading your ROM?
MMMmmm ..... Interesting.
I've got the latest T-mobile uk ROM installed that was released a few days ago.
I wonder if there are any other users that have this same issue ?
Also does anyone know of any registry tweaks thsat might help.
Anyone ?
The problem wasn't fixed until AKU 2.3 (maybe 2.2, I don't remember).
In that case ....... What AKU version has T-mobile uk just released ?

I believe it's 2.2, but not sure..I can check for you when I get home and let you know.
Not sure what they released but you can check yourself by going to settings>system>about and looking at the build info. Mine says 14955.2.3.0. The 2.3.0 bit at the end indicates that you have Aku 2.3
T-mobile UK - AKU
The latest T-Mobile UK - Build is 14847.2.0.0
AKU 2.0 - they are a little behind....
but it is certainly a stable build (for me anyway)
Charlie Grillo
Yep, mines 14847.2.0.0 and T-mobile UK took for EVER to release this update, So the gits will prob take another few years to release any other update.
I might have to look at other ROMS. Any suggestions ?
The latest core is 20273 and 20270. However, 19591 is more fast as I test on G-Smart i350.
After all, I decide to make a new build of i350 with 19591, for compatibility and stability.
In this build, I use a new dialpad with larger button. I think it more beautiful than the official dialpad. Some pictures and theme from my friend Feng. Thanks to him.
if you don't like the dialpad, just change the registry from:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\Skin]
"enabled"=dword:1
"ext"="mydialpad.dll"
to:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\Skin]
"enabled"=dword:1
"ext"="custphone.dll"
It has been uploaded to rapidshare, for more people can share this rom.

Thank you vary much for i350 rom
Thank you acwan, I use your ROMs and they are always reliable.
One question, did you use complete Diamond dialer, or is this just buttons like diamond dialer?

If using complete Diamond dialer, 6-8M Memery will be lost!
You know what does 6-8M memery mean for i350.
So, this dialer is modify from the official 350 dialer.
It doesn't cost more memery than the offcial one.
I installed this ROM and it is good. Especially voice quality over bluetooth is better than your 19212 ROM
I agree with you about Diamond Dialer memory consumption. This was the reason that I ask this question. Because with Diamond dialer, our i350 is useless, no memory after couple of phone calls.
But, after 1-2 soft reset, I lost this custom Dialer buttons, and letters remained in the place with original buttons. Than I changed the registry to go back original dialer buttons.
can i put that rom in a gsmart italian version ?
its possible to make a backup before the flash ?
thanks
I think the hardware is the same so it's possible to upgrade.
You can download the firmware from gsmart club in gigabyte site.
If you want the original italian version firmware you have to made an account in the italian site. If you want the english version you have to made an account in the usa site (you can made multiple account using the same imei)
Just a question, I have to copy on the memory card the CUSTFILE folder to made the ugrade or not?
Thank you.
Unable to find GPS
Hi, I've just updated the firmware of my i350 with your WM6.1 build 19591.
My compliments, it is fantastic but I am not able to find the GPS support. Please, could you spend some words about this point?

i350 and standby of death
Hi all,
My Gsmart i350 is affected by the so called "standby of death" problem. That is, when the battery charge is below 70% and the phone is in standby, the receiving of either a phone call or a SMS causes the blocking of the phone. The only way to turn it on again is soft reset or, sometimes, removing and insert the battery.
I've just known that this problem has been fixed in the latest Russian and Chinese roms, but there're no official updates for other countries. For some of you interested in this issue, there is an unofficial English WM6.1 rom. See:
http://mybestpda.com/board/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=75
Regards,
Maurizio
i had bought my i350 in russia, so eventually it had a russian wm6. i switched to english with i350-V5.00.D8-ENG
since then i have this very same problem which mpalesi has described. i thought it could have been a firmware problem or a battery, cos besides the lockout problem, after like the battery power once gets to 70%, the next thing i remember the pda always shuts it down. i had never seen a value being displayed between 50%-10%. just shuts itself down.
today i installed acwan's rom, the pda worked slower for me. so i tried this other link which mpalesi has given (the rom by korand, built on the latest russian version, i think so some features are in russian). it works fast, but yet i havent had time to see if the main problem, pda locks when receiving a call with 70% battery power is gone. so far its been a few hours and the battery seems to be working better than before.
thanks everyone, especially to mpalesi for bringing up the very same problem i had.
Hi Guys
This is my first foray into smartphone usage and am a little dissapointed with my choice of the HTC Mini HD. Here are my problems and hopefully you might have a solution.
1. When I recieve a text message and I see this on my home screen, I then press on the message to go to reply mode and then when I start texting a reply the message I was sent turns black and i cant see what im typing anymore. I then have to get rid of the keyboard and select in what I had been typing and then i can carry on and see what I am typing. This is such and annoying bug.
2. Sometimes the phone seems slow to respond. I click a menu and there is a slight delay and then it works. Is this a general windows is crap issue?
3. Is there a way to alter the default snooze time from 5 mins?
I hope you can help me out.
Oh this is an unlocked UK unbranded phone with this ROM etc
ROM = 1.36.401.1 (94538)
ROM Date = 05/23/10
OS version = 5.2.23103
Manilla version = 2.5.20131825.3

Then there's something wrong, take a good look here and compare it with yours, and I know that the wrong ROM.
My advice is go here http://www.htc.com/it/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=314&act=sd&cat=all and download all updates and the right ROM.

It is right, go with the ROM first and then the rest. Some of these updates you need to copy to the SD card and then install them (time, peep, audio).
