I cannot find my MAC address to add the Jasjar to my MAC adddress filtering on my home netwaork. Any ideas?
Settings > Connections > Wireless LAN
It's listed on there, n.b. you need to have WLAN switched on, else nothing appears.
Or take out your battery and check under it.

My router at home does not use DHCP and each computer that connects to it has to have a manuall assigned IP address, i.e. 192.168.1.N
I can't find any documentation in the forum or elsewhere about how to specify this on the T-mo MDA or K-Jam.
Any Gurus out there with the missing piece of the puzzle?
Well - I don't have a wizard and you don't say what OS you're using ... so here's how I do it with my Himalaya:
Start
Settings
Connections
Connections
Advanced
Network Card
You should see a list of network adapators. Select the appropriate one ... in my case it's WLAN ADAPTER. This should bring up the settings dialogue for the card
pretty close on wizard too: start > settings > connections > Network Cards > SDIO WLAN Wireless Adapter
I'm new in XDA2i here just bought it a few days, now i found out that i can connect with wifi but when i open the ie and key in the url it'll automatic change to GPRS for net browsing.
Is there any setting for wifi that I must set?
have search for a lot of setting in my xdaIIi but still have this same problem.
Need help please.
Best regards.
In network Management
(settings/connections/connections or tap settings on the drop down when hit connection icon, then advanced at the bottom and select networks)
In here ensure both boxes has My Work Network selected.
worked for me,
it will need the top one putting back to GPRS when you wish to make a connection through GPRS
How to use WiFi
Make sure u r going through the procedure.
1. Your WiFi capable device must be in the range of a Wireless Router (internet connected).
2. I assume that ur Wireless Router is set on security (allready set to allow specific users).
3. Every WiFi device has got an unique ID called MAC address, so your phone has also got a MAC address e.g: 00:09:2D:1F:34:E3. U have to go into the Wireless Router settings to enable ur WiFi phone.
4. Go into your Wireless Router settings (u need router's login ID & password to login) and add a device, give it ur phone's MAC address (Point 5) and a name (e.g. My XDA), Apply->Save->Logout. If ur Wireless router is security enabled then there must be a password called "WEP Key" e.g. "AE4ED24C54", now write it down to put it in your Phone to login to the Wireless Router to use the WiFi internet.
5. Find your phone's MAC address at: "Start->Settings->Connections(tab)->WLAN->(in the status: Not connected to network) click the bottom left Green button->click WLAN button(it will turn green from red)->ok->in the MAC: would be ur device MAC address(e.g: 00:09:2D:1F:34:E3). (write down on a piece of paper for the router settings).
6. As your phone is already "WiFi switched on" in point 5, it should detect ur Wireless Router once u finish point 4.
7. Phone will detect & show the name of ur Wireless Router, select it, it will ask for the Password now (WEP Key), enter the Wep Key and here u go.
8. Now ur Today screen Top "G" icon should change (antenna type icon) and show ur decice as connected in few seconds, u can switch it off by clicking that icon and click "Turn OFF WiFi" on the popup, you can switch it back on by: Start->Program->Wireless Manager->WiFi icon.
This explaination is only for WiFi enabled devices.
Tell me via email if u got stuck somewhere.

Hi, I have a prophet two days ago. I'm looking if I find the MAC address of the device to add it to my WiFi Router filter. How could I know this? I can't find it.
Don't worry I already found it. For those newbies like me here it is:
Turn wifi on, then in Com Mgr go to Menu, Wifi Settings. The Mac address is on the Advanced tab
I've got a USB to WiFi dongle , D-LINK DWL-G122 , and I want to use with my PC so i wiil be able to connect my JASJAM anywhere in my home. I've intall it on my PC with no problems. Do someone know how to config the PC ? Do I need to config anything on the JASJAM ? I have no router involves .
You need to configure ad-hoc connection
Ad Hock is done , but still no connection
I'v done so but i'm getting No connection at Wireless Network Connection 3.
Also Windows Small Office Network Wizad mention that . Any ideas how to make my D-LINK DWL-G122 connect ?
Since you've got no router in your set up, you need to set your phone's wireless network connection to only use ad-hoc connections too - go to Start | Settings | Connections tab | Wi-Fi. On that screen, change the "Networks to Access" option to "All available" or "Only computer to computer".
Then you'll need to give your phone a fixed IP address in the same range as your PC; tap the Network Adapters tab, then tap the adapter that is highlighted (it will mention 802.11 and Wi-Fi in the name somewhere!). Tap on the "Use specific IP address" and then enter one in the box below - if your PC is using e.g. 192.168.0.2, then set your phone to 192.168.0.22, set the subnet mask to 255.255.0.0 and the default gateway to your PC's IP address (you can find your PC's IP address by opening a command prompt and type "ipconfig" - in case you didn't know!).
That should get you most of the way there....can't think of anything else myself, but I'll post again if anything else springs to mind
Mark.
OK - it is working now
Thnx for your help
Hello.
Today I downloaded Office 2010 for my HD Mini. After completing the phone restarted.
I then tried to check my email, which failed with a 'no connection' error. I checked the the WiFi was on (it was) and tried again, no luck. I then noticed that the little 'Data Connection' icon was not displayed in the taskbar. I went to Settings>Wireless controls>Data connection and turned this on. Now I could check emails, surf the internet, all as normal. I am sure that this was being done using the WiFi due to the speed of pages loading. But surely I shouldn't need to turn on a Data connection, to use WiFi?
Mine is havin a similar problem. I am not able to surf even if I connet to my wifi. Only after enabling the data connection it starts work. Though I am not sure which internet its using. Since it was kind of slow.
Don't know for sure if its a bug or hardware issue but it is something. Someone pls help.

Well. I think I might have found the problem here. I was looking for the setting to turn Wi-Fi off automatically after a few minutes and I came across the setting for DNS Address, I have manually assigned an IP addresses on my Wi-Fi as otherwise my Apple Mac and Windows PC's can't see the printer, I had assigned an IP address and the Gateway address for the router, but I had not found the panel for DNS servers, I had assumed that the DNS server would be located automatically - it appears this is not the case and the HTC HD Mini was using the GPRS DNS server to locate the IP addresses before downloading the pages via the Wi-Fi connection.
So, if suffering from not being able to access the internet on Wi-Fi without a GPRS connection being made try the following:
Settings >
Wireless Controls >
Wi-Fi >
Advanced (Button) >
Adaptor and Networks >
Network Adapters (Tab) >
Tap on - Broadcom 802.11 Network Adapter >
Name Server (Tab)
Enter your router DNS server in the appropriate section
Click Done.
Not sure if this is required...
What is the DHD adapter???
I did enter both my IP and DNS settings here though... Just in case!
Tap on - Broadcom 802.11 DHD Network Adapter >
Name Server (Tab)
Enter your router DNS server in the appropriate section
Click Done.
Then back out of all the menus/pages.
This worked for me. Worth a try?
