Acticesync4.1 is not connecting to my tmobile mda via USB. All i really want to do is install software on my phone. I do not really care if outlook is synced or not. Is there another way I can use to install software on the phone? I do not currently have either bluetooth or wifi. Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Internet via bluetooth

I have a HTC Wizard, I just got it today.
I would like to setup the internet connection via bluetooth, untill I can buy a wifi adapter for my pc.
I have checked the guid on this site, but my wizard does not have the Bletooth PAN User Driver, so I can't select it. Has anyone gotten this to work on the wizard? All help will be appreciated. I'm sorry if this has been asked before, I could not fin it.
Please help!
if you can get activesync to work via bt then you can surf fine.
thnx, about 5 minutes before you posted I got active sync working over bluetooth. It was a pain...activesync with the USB cable was seriously screwing with my pc, it rebooted my pc as soon as the sync began. But after some hours I got it to work over bluetooth. Thank god, i;m not touching these settings ever again. (i hope the update activesync will solve all these problems)"
Thnx again for your suggestion

I am new with wizard.

It's possible UMTS+ActiveSync?

It is possible connect to UMTS/GPRS while Activesync is on?
The idea is to access from a portable pc without internet connection and use the feature with Pocket Controller Program and ONLY in JASJAR, without use modem feature or PC explorer or another, only Pocket Controller and soft on JASJAR.
Thanks
Well I know I can use the wireless modem over bluetooth whilst I am stil connected for activesync over USB to my PC
Yes, I know about modem usb or BT...
My question is another. Is for use like I described in my post.
Thanks
Ahh Sorry - I think I understand the question now. You want to use your JASJAR to surf the internet through SOTI pocket controller whilst it is still hooked up to your PC with ActiveSync.
Can't see why you would want to do this, but I'll see if I can figure it out.
Exactly, that is!
Thanks
I tried this also, but failed.
Exactly, fail. So I ask for it.
Thanks
In order to acheive this you must disable the "pass through" connection that active sync makes when it connects. I'm not sure whether this can be done
Hummm I cannot see that option... I't possible that register must be modified but.... how!? That the question.
Thanks

If you just want to see your PPC on your PC using Soti's Pocket Controller, you can setup a TCP/IP connection in Pocket Controller on your PC given that you have a Wireless network setup. Using this method does not require that you have Activesync running and will be able to use UMTS connection at the same time... I've set this up on my PPC and network.

WMDC and 8125

I cannot seem to get my 8125 to sync with windows mobile device center in Vista. I have tried both bluetooth and usb cable, and I have turned off Windows Firewall.
When I connected it via the cable, the only thing that installed and appeared my device manager was a Smartphone USB Sync under mobile devices. I have read other people are getting a windows mobile device under portable devices, among other things.
When I try connecting via bluetooth, Activesync just does not show up when I pair my phone and my computer as a service.
Are there drivers I can get from somewhere, or am I doing something wrong? Any help would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks!
You have to update the WMDC in vista inorder to sync. Had the same problem me self.. kinda crazy if u ask me eh...
I know it has been a long time but I have wmdc 6.1 and an 8125 with the most recent HTC cingular rom. How do I get bluetooth sync working? My activesync on my phone says that the service is not installed and I am kind of stuck there.
A ton of google searches have illicited no help. I figurd I would try here...
I am paired properly with the laptop as I am able to use the modem as DUN and get internet working with no problems. I cant seem to get the device center to recognize the phone for syncing my outlook with bluetooth.
Same boat
I am right there with you man. I have tried everything and still no joy. I am going to try and up date my bluetooth software and try it out. I'll let you know if it works for me.
I did it!!
Ok the key is to use the same Comm port in WMDC that the wizard uses. For example try to set up a bluetooth partnership with your PC via your wizard. When you see a popup on your desktop that you wizard is trying to connect make a not on which Comm port it is trying to use. (for me it was COM4.) from there go into your setting in WMDC and check the second box to allow the wizard to use differant ports. Select your port and click ok. You should be good to go. Let me know if that did or didn't work for you. Best of luck!

xv6800 cannot sync via bluetooth

Hey all, sorry for the remedial questions, but I am pulling my hair out trying to get my phone connected to my laptop thru ActiveSync via Bluetooth. I have the verizon xv6800, running dcd 2.3.2, activesync 4.5 and windows XP.
Anyone have a noob step by step? I have read the phone docs and the activesync docs and I cannot get it. My ports are matching and I can "connect" to the laptop, meaning my pc sees it as a bluetooth device and vice versa.. but not transfer anything or connect via activesync.
Thanks.
bump
anyone help out?
I am too having the same problem. I had given up but if someone would be willing to help that would be wonderful.
ive never been able to get bluetooth activesync to work on XP but it works flawlessly on vista.

Well thats helpful!
How did you set it up for Vista? I can't get it to show up for nothing.

Can someone tell me if it's possible to sync your wm device with vista via BT?

I just got a new computer with Vista installed (enjoying it) but I really would like to sync via BT. I'm not real knowlegable about working with BT. When I get it to sync with my devices, I just leave it alone. I have a kensington USB adaper and it connected to my phone one time and it won't connect again. Even when it was connected I couldn't get it to sync with WMDC. I don't even know where to begin to diagnose my issues. Kensington has no directions at all.
Yes it is possible to sync via bluetooth.Do a search.

Get a life.
Yes, it's actually easier synching with BT than with USB, sometimes.
Just make sure that your BT on Vista supports ActiveSync. Go through the usual motions of pairing and all should be sweet.

Thanx e_gregious, I figured it out. The drivers I installed for the USB BT adapter was screwing with my options in Vista. It wouldn't show me the "BT Devices" option to set it up with ActiveSync. I had to uninstall those drivers that came with it, and just let Vista install the drivers automatically. After that, I saw the options I was looking for and it was very easy. And you're right, syncing via BT is a whole lot easier than I though it would be. People bash Vista, but I'm fully enjoying it. (until I want to flash a new ROM)
