Hey peeps
All you guys who have been on here a while will no doubt remember what the man "BUZZLIGHTYEAR" did for the great XDA2. :idea: It would be interseting for Buzz to get hold of the Universal dont you think???
Maybe we should all donate a couple of quid and get the man one for all his hard work on the xda ROM that many of us used on our xda's........PLUS we all get buzz's ROMS that he develops for his new toy.....beats waiting on O2....just a thought

10 euro for each one , how long need to take ? if we need Buzz work with Universal for all of us .
As I know Buzz very good for Himalaya, for Blue Angles when we first got WM5 , how many people wait for rom came out , I post at buzzdev.net in that night said if rom came out I will give buzzdev,net 100 euro donation,after rom came out ,I download and sent my donation right the way
Buzz, if you can work with Universal to find out how to unlock extended rom and dump rom same as we did for BA or XDAII , I can give you my Dopod 900 , just pm me your address I will send to you right the way.

Wm 6.1 Thought?

This may be a really idiotic question but in my mind it really makes sense. But, I only know some basic things about programming and things of that nature, and not to much about ROM's. But anyway, here goes.
I called Htc earlier today, as I do every week to see if there was any new news on a release date for the very , very elusive Official Windows Mobile 6.1 upgrade for my Htc Touch/Vougue, from Alltel. Knowing that Alltel is usually one of the last carriers to get things done,
I tried to get a release date from him with no prevail. But he mentioned that Wm6.1 had already been released in a few other countries(Im in the US), which Im sure quite a few of you knew, but I did not. I had actually never heard this, or read about it here, so I called back and brought it up to another tech and he said the same thing, so I am assuming it's true. If they have misled me , then I'm extremely sorry for the waste of space.
Now I dont know what countries he's talking about, no clue actually ,but heres my thought. If it has already been released in an official form from some overseas cell provider, why couldn't someone download the ROM, and somehow add language support for other countries? Couldn't they just remove the Radio portion of the ROM and release an actual wm6.1 ROM.
Now, like I said , I know nothing or ROM's other than what Ive read here over the past few months, and only what little Ive understood of that. But there are Wm6.1 threads everywhere , of people wanting a stock/orig version, so this just crossed my mind. Maybe that where these custom 6.1 roms on here come from? Im not sure. But its just a thought. Anyone care to correct me or comment? Dont be harsh though, I seriously didn't know if this was possible, and thought if it was, why hasnt it been done. Thanks guys.

i think wm6.1 roms are available here for a long time..

It's been realesed in various countries outside of the US most likely because of a higher demand, and HTC operates from Taiwan. The update itself is per carrier and country.

Try the "Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking" section, or the section dedicated to your phone, and you might find what your looking for.
I too am suprised to see curious george hasn't told you to stop thinking, maybe he's been kidnapped or something?

Hey guys whats up!!! You guys at XDA have been so great to me and I think it is about time i paid you back! I have been developing a website for quite sometime now that will make it easier for users to get at some key applications and information. Basicly my website is distrubiting some popular applications and even some that are useful and arent that well known yet. I update the website frequently so be sure to check it out!!!! Nothing against you personally. But I read through your other thread and the way you had written your posts - You were trying to make it seem that you had nothing to do with it and just stumbled on to it or something. I am sure it may be a very usefull site but I just don't like the way you presented it here (and why two different threads?)

I won't hold it against you forever. Maybe a day. I am glad to see that you are taking ownership. I will probably take a peek at your site. I have checked out your contributions to this site and you are right. You have contribued quite a bit. Your contributions are appreciated here and valued. Keep up the good work with your themes etc... Just remember not to take advantage of everyone here through trickery. If your site is that great, Take pride in it and take ownership. If there is trickery, thefts, Warez in your site than I would understand why you would not take ownership.

Few days ago,I left a comment on the SE product blog,realating to the "8mb file" on the SE developers.com and a SE support engineer emailed me and it probably shows that SE KNOWS NOTHING OF OUR CUSTOM ROM??
Perhaps he is pretending.....

On behalf of some considerations ,it might be good for them to support devs cuz what z,j and other devs doing is ,in certain point of view,elongating the life span of their product,they can just save money to elongate the life by releasing the RSA key

Editersonally I will call z and j devs rather than hackers...

The only thing I need to be 100% happy with my X10 is the bootloader cracked to have a kernel which allows overclocking (at least for the moment I only need that xD)

Hi, i passed by 3 different phones over 1 month, ending up here, where i think i cant go wrong. just bought an vibrant, it should arive in 1-2 days, and searching on net seens useless...
Well, on my country, Brazil, only i9000b is "officialy" sold as i had read.
So, im kinda, not to say totally lost about my phone really is, any advice would be great! since i know u should awnser this a lot, and i got no clue using the search...
Well, besides digital tv and frontal vga cam, its the same phone? other thing that is very important... we get the same updates as i9000? do we have official 2.2? if so, our phone takes long to get updates?

Personal message mmelo76 He is our moderator and lives in Brazil. he can tell you alot about how the Vibrant works in Brazil.
I have Family in Brazil, and My understanding is the Vibrant works but you may need 2 things, the Portuguese language package from the I9000 and you may need to change the setting in the Banding setting....... but contact MMelo he is our moderator and he Lives in Caieiras - SP and uses Claro as his carrier, Welcome hope that helps you ..ciao

in fact, i prefeer in english, in used to it, my last two phones i always used in english.

just got my hands on mine! sound/amoled screen is pretty cool. bought raging thunder2, found the accelerometer a little slow to turn the car. well now to the froyo update and darkys 2.2.1 hehe
any sugestions of a cool gps program? thanks!

Guys, i really need help... Well my phone got a problem... first day using it, and im almost sure i will have an HARD time to exchange, since the seller is a pain, and i bought from internet
there is a small area, above the samsung logo and under the square buttons (contact, message, etc) that dont get touchs. about the "phone" "message" letters, you can see it here :

Well, i searched on the net, and on this forum and got no sucess. i know it seens to be an hardware problem, but at least im asking him, if it could be any kind of software issue, kernell, etc, i really dont know how the amoled display works.
The fact is that i spent all my money, that i took a lot of time to earn, on this phone, that was my dream, and know, on my first day, is becoming my nightmare. any sugestions of what i should try? if worth trying to install custom stuff?
Any help would be apreciated... it seens to be a small area, but just some things thant dont work :
on horizontal : u cant type "dot"
on vertical: cant scroll back the status bar when its down, cant click on "now playing" in music player
All this can be avoided turning the phone, but man, i paid a lot in it...

ODIN back to the way the phone came out of box, and it might fix it, if not, its a hardware, which idk about.

i updated my sg5800 with odin, well, i think i will give it a shot

a Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant is SGH-T959, are you referring to the model number as sg5800 because if you are don't do my method, your in the wrong section i believe, this is the t959

im thinking in trying darkys before the stock firmware... but right now, i dont think i cant get any sucess...

im searching for a screen aligment utility, it could fix my entire problem in a second... if i could move the screen about 2 milimeters up, it would "fix" the entire problem

2 milimeters sounds about the same height of the notification bar.

i would say i half the notification bar, and my problems would be solved...
isnt it possible that it cant be done...
