I made a full backup using aWizard, and upgraded to the QTEK test rom 2.8.7 or whatever, and it ran good and when I went to restore my Cingular 8125 backup it still retains the old TEST boot logo screen. I am wondering if any1 has the cingular logo screen, cause I have looked on the FTP and did not see to be able to find it. Thanks so much!
Ok I got it to revert finalley, but now I am confused as how to Replace my extended ROM back. I have it backed uo but I see no option in aWizard to write teh extended rom I tried that APA_ext_rom_unlock.exe and it did not give me the success popup. I can see the extended ROM but I cannot edit it, any ideas any1 ? im using a 8125.

Hi, which rom are you using - and how did you unlock it? and what option did you choose? there are 3 different versions of the tool on the forum. (so want to make sure you used the right one) You could use this opportunity to upgrade to an aku2 rom.
p.s. please dont post twice someone else may spend time anwsering the other post - could you delete it - just press x on the top r hand corner of post - cheers

Thanks in advance

Anyone got it?
Cingular SMT5600 = FUBARed
Hate to resurrect an old thread, but does anyone have or know where to get the full original Cingular SMT5600 ROM? I had loaded WM 6.1 a while back and all was well until I went to hard reset it to give to one of my brothers; it went to the bootloader screen and stayed there. I thought it was completely bricked until I found a full T-Mobile (German) ROM...loaded that up, got it unbricked, and was able to reload the WWE WM 6.1 again, but without a Cingular radio, the phone is still useless (though unbricked).
I've Googled my butt off, but keep running into dead ends..can anyone help?
As mentioned here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296102 I'm having some issues with my Wizard variant. In short:-
- It won't vibrate (I've tried all the software options)
- It won't sync (with either Activesync for PC or Missing Sync for Mac)
- The internal memory seems to have become locked, so I am unable to install new programs or delete unwanted ones.
It's a UK T-Mobile MDA Vario flashed with the I-Mate 2.16.9.1 WWE ROM about a year ago.
I'm starting to think that a full factory reset is my only option to get the thing working properly again.
Can someone please talk me through it or talk me out of it?
Thanks.

How do I reset the device to factory settings?
Select Start > Settings > System > Clear Storage. Type 1234 in the box and tap YES. This will erase all information on the device and restore it to factory settings
Well, that's the reset done. It seems to be stuck on "Running Install_Tsk.exe...". If it goes horribly wrong, Argos have got a cheapo phone on sale at £20 that'll tide me over until my contract expires next month...
You might try re-flashing the ROM you had on there or even upgrading to the T-Mobile 2.26 ROM and see if that solves your problem.
If I'm right, it should still be CID and sim unlocked from when I first flashed it with the K-Jam ROM. In fact, every time it has rebooted since the reset, it comes up with the HTC and I-Mate splash screens instead of the T-Mobile one I was expecting, which can only be good news.
I'm thinking of flashing it with a WM6 ROM. Any good ones come recommended?
I don't think anything will re-CID lock it unless you chose to do it yourself so you should still be good there. Which ROM to choose though is kind of based on personal preference. There's plenty to choose from in the WM6 section. The best thing to do is to read through the different ones, pick one you like and then flash it. If it turns out you don't like it that much, try a different one or use one of the kitchens and cook one for yourself.
By the way, before you flash any WM6 version, you should still flash t-mobiles 2.26 so you have a good IPL/SPL to work with and a clean base for it since you're having problems with your old version.
Thank you very much for your tips. Tomorrow is Sunday and I have no plans; looks like it's ROM flashing day!
Good luck. Make sure you read through everything before you flash anything, but since you're already CID unlocked it should be easy.

Hey everyone, I have a Audiovox branded Cingular SMT5600 phone with the original factory ROM on it. Today I turned it on and it is just sitting with the three color bars and is stuck. Is there anyone out there that has a working link to the original Cingular ROM for 2003SE that can with the phone? I want to restore it to factory. i have never flashed it or unlocked it, so I am afraid if I just try and load a WM5 or WM6 ROM on it as it is not unlocked I will be in a worse situation so that is why I want to load the factory original. Any help would be great!!!
i found the .BN file in the forum's on this site, thanks! Anyone tell me how to flash the backup rom in the .BIN format to my phone?
never mind, I figured out the Camera button was stuck on my phone. A simple disassembly and adjustment of the housing fixed it!! Thanks to the forums!
