I would of thought Tomtom navigator 3 wasnt compatible with WM5 since it was released in 2004. The lastest version is 5.21, email tomtom and see what they say. www.tomtom.com

As my old trusty XDA11 has packed up, I now have a new o2 XDA mini 's' (Wizard). Trouble is, Tomtom Navigator 3 (as worked ok on the XDA11), won't install. Tomtom tell me it's incompatible, but the guy in the o2 shop assured me that I would find a work-around on here. Well I've looked, and I can't find any.
Can anyone help please?
The Guys at the phone-shops are total n00bs... They even don't know what a PocketPC is. TomTom 3 isn't working on WM5. Even TomTom 5 need a installer modification to work.
Yeah I know, but this guy completely bullshitted me that he knew all about XDA's! Guess I'll have to fork out again for 5.21
Hi!
I use XDA1 (O2) and try to upgrade several version of Windows 2003se,
Windows 2003 from romkitchen. Upgrade was succesfull, all works perfect exept TomTom, I use it without GPS just for map browsing,
after several seconds, TomTom start working very slowly,
about 1000x times slower, for example show route demo screen updated 5-10x times per second, now updated 2 per minutes.
Its not possible to work with that speed.
Is any upgrade of TomTom(I use v.5.21 27/11/05 orig 4/11/05) present or any incompatible software included in rom update that can cause this problem? If I roll back to PC2002 all works perfect again.
please help me

Can anyone suggest me, what version of Windows Mobile 2003 i can use, I tryed several versions, but all of them make TomTom Navigator very slowly, may be it possible to use additional software to resolve problem? I use TomTom without GPS, may be this fact causing problem and I need to install some GPS software or select specific type of GPS device in the TomTom Settings.
Seems like after selecting GPS device TTM start working extra slowly.
Can anyone suggest what version of TTM to use, what version of Windows mibile 2003,and what is GPS software need to be installed?
thank you for answer,
hope on the help
Leon
p.s. my email debarcadereamoi at ifrance.com in case if you be able send binaries, of TTM or GPS software
I am thinking of upgrading to Navigator 6 for my K-Jam, but on the Tomtom website it isnt listed as being compatible. Anyone installed it ok and is it worth the upgrade from Nav5?

TomTom are so inconsistent. Whilst not listing Wizard compatibility with TTN6 and map for some packages, they do with others. See here listed as compatible (MDA Vario / 9100).
Just be aware only v660 build 1223 maps work on TTN5.2 and TTN6. Meaning if you dont have these maps already on your setup you will need to buy new.
However new v675 build 1409 maps were released last week and so may appeal to you.
TomTom 6 is running verey well. Fast, stable and well working with telefonfunction of your PPC - turns sound off and on again while in call.
Update MN6 - no way!!! It is rather slow!
Have just got my Vario back from being repaired (it was replaced with a new handset) I had Navigator 6 running fine on the old one, put my memory card in and coppied the cab files over to install the program again but now it won't find the GPS device, I've tried coping the old navigator.cfg file into the program files but still doesn't work, any ideas?
sussed it, I forgot to pair the GPS device with the vario and then select the com port 7.
It would not load on my MDA Vario in the Uk.
I am runnig a WM6 rom but i believe it should work, trying to load direct from the dvd via activesync.
Any ideas ?
Mine only work just after a soft-reset. It seems TT6 has problems with WM6, need to wait for them to come up with an update/patch (hopefully not TT7 that will cost another gazillion £). Anyway, there are reports that TT6 works on WM6 devices (not Wizard).
I just wanted to see if there was any proof of concept for TomTom navigator 7 working on a Dell Axim 51v. I want to buy the software as it is now reduced on tomtom's website but didnt not want to pay at the moment just in case it wasnt going to work and i'd have wasted my money. I've done alot of searching around and many hours later have found it does work. Well, a version of it from another source, a HTC diamond.
Someone has taken the version off their HTC and put it as a standalone package on the internet, is about 35mb's, no maps of course. My axim 51v has WM6.1 on it and i installed the CAB file. Clicked on the tomtom icon and it loaded up. As i dont have any maps it naturaly came up with 'no maps found' error but getting to that error shows that navigator 7 loaded up fine without any program errors.
Now i know it works, i will go ahead and purchase the version off tomtom's website and see if i can get it to work. I know the website says it will only work on certain models, but thats only because it has been tested on those units only. Fingers crossed it will work.
update: i've taken some screen captures of the software working
