Peculiar Problem: O2 Mini -No sound. - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

HI Friends
I have a very very peculiar problem. I have a O2 Xda Mini purchased recently in Mumbai, India.
My ROM Versions:
ROM VERSION 1.11.00 WWE
ROM DATE 03/15/05
RADIO VERSION 1.12.00
pROTOCOL VERSION 1337.42
eXTrOM vERSION 1.11.922.WWE
Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition Version 4.21.1088 (Build 15045.2.6.0)
Previously, when i receive a call, I am able to hear/speak without using a bluetooth/Handsfree Kit.
two days back, when i tried using the handsfree, everything worked fine when call was receieved.. After removing the handsfree, I am not able to use the phone without bluetooth/handsfree.
I tried various options for getting the things worked...Did Soft/Hard reset of the phone. still the problem persists.
When I try to go to Start > Settings >Phone and select a Ring Tone, I cant hear the same from the internal speakers.
But when someone calls me the same ringtone works fine ans i hear the tone without any issues.
Do you know if this is a known BUG with this firmware, or there is some corruption in the registry.
Please Help !!!
Thanx in advance ..

Hi,
I had similar problem today. I fixed this when I once again plugged handsfree with Magician switched on and then I removed handsfree (still with Magician switched on).

Problem with Headset Motorola HS810 & XDA II

I have installed Motorola HS810 but it doesn't work. On some phone calls HS810 responds late and sometimes answering with XDAII I don't feel for some second. I have tried to load WM2003SE, to install "Pocket Bluetooth Tools" but I have not resolved the problem.
Help!!!!
O2 XDAII
ROM 2.06.00 WWE
Radio 1.18.00
ExtRom 2.06.100a

Could you guys please comment about my problem?

Hi All,
I seem to be having Bluetooth problems with my dutch t-mobile mda compact:
I am using a simple bluetooth headset - it's got no brand name - but I know it works fine beacuse before getting the mda compact I have used it with my Nokia 6310i and it works fine.
Anyhow, I pair the headset with my mda with no problem and it may work all day long without any problem - but... if for instance I leave the room with my headset - leaving the phone behind - which essentially disconnects the BT headset and the phone - when I come back the phone doesn't recognize the headset no matter what I do. The headset icon on the top of the phone disappears and oesn't come back. I reset the phone, I cliick on the headset answer button, I turn on and off the bluetooth on the phone, I switch on and off the headset - nothing helps!
The only solution that I found working is to delete the headset from the bluetooth devices in the mda and then rediscover the headset which works like a charm. All goes back to normal unitl the next time that it loses connection. I think the phone also sometimes loses connection when I am not using the headset for a long time (and hour or so)...
What can I do?? this is really driving me crazy. I have no problems when using the same headset with my nokia 6310i - but hey, I want to use the MDA!!!
My device: MDA COMPACT - T-Mobile Netherlands
Rom - 1.01.00 WWE
Radio - 1.00.10
Protocol - 1337.36
Ext Rom - 1.01.124 WWE
Thanks you guys for helping me
Ciao,
Lisa
hey Lisa..
i've noticed ur device informations are the following:
My device: MDA COMPACT - T-Mobile Netherlands
Rom - 1.01.00 WWE
Radio - 1.00.10
Protocol - 1337.36
Ext Rom - 1.01.124 WWE
they are too old
I have not experienced a problem like urs before, but i recommend u to upgrade ur device(the latest ROM version is 1.12.00,as much as i know  ),u can find it in the ftp server, wich u can access from the wiki page(top left of ur page)...
if ur new to PDAs,then u have to know that ur device is a Magician,so search the ftp in the Magician folder
if u don't know how to upgrade ur device,u just have to ask,i will guide ur to the steps with pleasure
hope i've helped...
RAGO
Thanks Rago.
I was kind of wondering which one of the ROMs I should pick? When logging on to the FTP directory - there are lot's of shipped Magician Roms... Many show 112 - but which one should I take?
Is there any issue with the new Roms? Bluetooth problems?
Regards,
Lisa
hi lisa
best available workaround is to buy zenduris pocket zenphone software (do a search here at xda-developers). this program enables the headset profile permanently so your mda will be able to re-connect with your headset again, when you are back in the room.
cheers, lutz
Hi Lutz,
Thanks again for helping me
So you are using the word "workaround" - is this a known problem or it this just a problem with my device?
Am I to assume that there is a problem with the BT can can only be worked around and not solved permanently?
Does any of the new Roms solve this?
Bye,
Lisa
hi lisa
well there may be a rom that acts different but i won't force you to flash your device certain times with all the risks just to find out that it doesn't work! zenduris pocket zenphone really fixes the issue permanently and is definitely the best way to do it. i myself use the german o2 xda mini rom and it works well with my parrot ck3100 and reconnects with it the way it should while all the other (german) rom versions did not. but i guess you won't flash your device with a german rom, right...
cheers, lutz

Problem with T-mobile MDA Compact and Parrot CK3000

I have recently purchased a Parrot CK3000 and a new MDA compact on T-Mobile.
At first all was fine, but after a couple of days, when you get into the car, the MDA would pair up with the Parrot but then take over the car kit as though a call is in progress. The stereo displays CALL and the music is muted. The only way to reset it is to turn the carkit off and back on again as well as the MDA.
I have hard reset the phone and the problem comes back after a coupld of pair ups.
Does anyone else have this problem, or know of a fix.
I have tested the carkit with a Nokia 6310 and it is fine, so I'm sure the problem is with the MDA compact.
I have :
Rom version 1.12.00 WWE
ROM date : 05/28/05
Radio version : 1.12.00
Protocol : 1337.42
ExtROM: 1.12.152 WWE
I noticed that Radio version 1.13.00 is out, but does this have anything to do with Bluetooth.
Parrot and T-Mobile tech support have had no luck fixing the problem.
Any help greatfully received ?
Thanks
Richard
Hi,
I have excactly the same configuration as you. I have ROM 1.12.01! Which Firmwareversion is your CK3000?
I have 1.13. The only problem with this version is a short heavy noise if i make a call. If your problem still exist after firmwareupgrade of your mda,
try to reset your CK3000 (press green and red button for few seconds)
and pair again.
Regards Yoshi
Thanks, I've just upgraded the MDA compact to Rom V1.13.00 WWE and radio 1.13.
I'll let you know if it fixes it.

Qtek S110 - bluetooth without phone radio on?

Hi,
Is it possible to have bluetooth running without the radio (phone part) working? Whenever I try to turn on bluetooth it insists on me turning on the phone part also.
Is there a way to turn off the phone part without switching the device to flight mode?
Thanks alot.

It depends on yr rom version. On newer rom version, switching off radio will switch off BT.
U can try PhoneAlarm from www.pocketmax.net. It lets U turn off the radio without affecting the BT
Thanks alot for the info.
My ROM versions are:
Qtek S110
Rom: 1.12.00 WWE (05/28/05)
Radio: 1.12.00
Protocol: 1337.42
ExtRom: 1.12.119 WWE
It looks like my ROM version is different to the information in the manual I have as, in the manual, it states that the phone can be turned off by holding the power button. On my machine, this turns off the backlight only, even if I hold it down for more than 5 seconds.
I wonder why the newer ROM versions don't allow bluetooth to be on without the phone. My reason for wanting this is I intend to use the device with a bluetooth GPS whilst hiking and, if I'm not near a mobile transmitter, this will run down my device much quicker.
I'll give the trial version of that software a try.
Thank you.
the developer maybe was in unclear state for this new version, haha

Thanks for the info. I gave PhoneAlarm a try, unfortunately it doesn't seem to work. I set a profile that had the radio off but the bluetooth on but when I switch to the profile but I cannot get it to work. It seems that on my ROM version the radio has to be on for bluetooth to be on - which to be honest is just sheer dumb.
Can you please tell me which versions of the ROM components I need and where I can get them please? I have a Qtek S110 UK - doesn't seem to have any phone network configuration on it.
Thanks
Here's a reply I just got from Qtek:
Hi Steve,
you are cotrrect - the Bluetooth works independently from the phone. please go back to your point of sale and raise this issue with them, the return is their responsibility. Kind regards, Robin

Hi,
I recently purchased a Qtek S110. I am finding that the device will not allow me to have bluetooth on when the radio (phone part) is not on. This is no good for me as I intend to use the device with a bluetooth GPS whilst out hiking. If the radio stays on then my battery will drain really fast as I will be nowhere near a phone transmitter and it will be using large amounts of power to communicate with one.
Other people tell me that their Qtek S110 allows them to have bluetooth on when the radio isn't on. To be honest this is how the phone should work, bluetooth should have nothing to do with the radio part, and I am very surprised that mine doesn't that way.
My firmware is:
ROM: 1.12.00 WWE, Radio 1.12.00, Protocol 1337.42, ExtrROM 1.12.119 WWE
If this can be fixed with a new firmware then please tell me how I do this and where I find them as I can find no mention of firmwares on any Qtek site. Otherwise is there any other way of having bluetooth only on?
Thank you,
Regards,
Steve

So, they want me to send it back to my supplier but to be honest, I don't actually think its faulty - just a faulty ROM. I can now see a struggle between me and the supplier. Any ideas?
Cheers,
Steve
Ok, thanks to jackleung and kta I have now managed to get Phone Alarm to have bluetooth on and GSM off. I guess, either I was using an older version, or I wasn't quite doing it right.
But I can now confirm it to work. Seems like Qtek don't know what they're talking about or at least some firmwares may do it when others don't.
But the good news is that I don't have the hassle of returning the machine or risking flashing the firmware. £10 for the new software is far easier.
Thanks again.
There is a registry hack in this thread that sorted the problem for me and my Alpine, although the hack was currently posted in the Magician forum.
Cheerio !

A2DP help needed

Hi,
I'm running the O2 Exec with an Anycom SBH100, excellent pairing with one HUGE issue.
If the headeset is not paired I'm unable to hear anything in normal phone useage!
Damn that's frustrating, I spent ages getting this to work with my headset and now it wont work without it. :?:
Jasjar ROM 1.30.76WWE
Rom Date 20/02/06 (UK Date)
Radio 1.09.00
Protocol 42.42.P8
ExtRom 1.30.164 WWE
I'm not entirely sure who's A2DP patch I've installed now, to many trial and c*ck up's..
But I do have Zoki A2DP to uninstall.
I hope someone can put me out of my misery here.
When paired with my PC I can simply alter the audio back to the sound card, and it's the same thing I need to do with the PDA, I think.
Alec.
