With the new "test rom" the lock function has been changed.
Before the Rom change I had set the lock function on 0 minutes.
So if your device was brought into standby by yourself or automatically within a certain time the device was locked by a pin code when it runs on its battery.
Now with the new "test rom" it will lock every time within 30 seconds or so even if it is connected to my pc or charger.
Anyone has any ideas?
Cheers,
Drifter
Hi,
I am encountering the same issue.
Could you find a way to solve it ?
It is very annoying as the locking even occurs when i am running navigation in Tomtom ...
My security policy is not set for the mobile devices on my exchange server so it should be something in the os itself....
Hi Wizzard,
Did several things but nothing will work.
As you said it even does it when you haven't use the security policy of exchange.
I haven’t begun with exchange jet so it’s in the OS.
Hopefully somebody has an answer for this or it’s a bug that has to be solved with a new “official“ ROM.
Cheers,
Drifter

Hi guys
I'm pretty sure I've seen a post about this before, but whatever I search for I can't find it now... typical! lol!
For the past week or so, every time I turn the screen off on my Wizard, a few seconds later it turns itself back on for no apparent reason... it then times out and turns off again only to wake itself back up a few seconds later.
If i leave it, it seems it will do this forever and it means my battery is getting drained very quickly... this has only happened recently and I haven't installed any new software recently so I'm not sure what's caused it...
One possible pointer is that if I run "Check Notifications" to remove duplicate alarm events the problem is cured, but also all my alarms (set in clock) stop working unless i go in turn them off and then turn them back on again... but this causes the problem to appear again!
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated since at the moment i'm having to charge every day
Cheers

I am not 100% sure but it may be some app is starting up your phone. Have you used the 'Activesync Workaround' -- Activesync likes to start itself up even if you are not connected via USB so this may be a cause?
to prevent Activesync from starting up periodically do the following:
Open Activesync on your PPC
Menu>Add Server Source...
Type a bogus server address. Next fill in the fields with anything. Finish.
Menu>Schedule...
Sync during... [change both peak and off peak] to Manually. Ok.
Really Close Activesync [not minimize] then start it up again.
Menu> Options > Delete the BOGUS SERVER you made.
Click to collapse
If the problem persists try checking your apps some of them may be requesting for your device to startup.
Hi
I have an XDA Exec, and as I am using it with our corporate email system (with Push email) our IT guys insist on the PDA locking after 15 minutes of non-use ... OK so far...
The problem I have is that I use my XDA as my SatNav as well, and this means that it often locks itself as I'm driving down the motorway!!
The option to change the timeout is greyed out, so I cannot change it via the normal user interface, so I guess I need to change some registry setting somewhere .... can any of you guys point me in the right direction???
Just a gentle nudge... this forum is buzzing at the moment!!!
It takes it's setting from your corporate policy, and every time you connect it will reset anything you change in your registry.
There is however a cab that specifically stops it locking while awake on external power, and auto lock as soon as you switch of or close the lid.
Might fix your issue.
Thanks AlanJC.... I'll give it a go
It is not working for me.
Hello all,
I'm a long time lurker, first post here though... Hope you can help me.
After SIM and CID Unlocking my device (o2 XDA Mini S) I updated to the newest IPL/SPL (3.08) and Radio ROM and installed the X-Plore 1.1 ROM. I got a strange problem now though, and don't know if it may be caused be a program or if this is a problem of the ROM of some sort... From time to time with no pattern, the display activates itself and shows the Today-Screen. 30 seconds later the background goes off again (as set in the device) and again 30 seconds later the devices locks itself again. Sometimes just a minute later the display goes on again, sometimes it takes some time, like an hour or two...
I already cleared my Today screen and "Startup" folder is also cleared... If you need anymore information, just let me know. Thanks in advance for any help
Is your device locked or unlocked when this happens?
The device is unlocked. I also tried a few things and maybe it's the spb Shell I've installed, but not sure... Does anyone know about such a problem caused by spb Shell?
I have the same problem with my t-mobile mda with ROM 2.26.10.2
There are many post to this problem.
Disable backlight switching off automaticly when your devise is locked with password.
Or disable password.
It is strange. But many got it by disableing backlight.
Just disable your password and set your backlight timeout and standby timeout to be the same.
Since those two little changes, I've not seen the problem again.
Thank you all, I'll try those two things and get back to you.
i have the same problem. i figured out though that the screen comes on when the phone sends/receives GSM data. i do have a password on the device also my screen doesnt auto lock how do i set that?
Hi - got an issue with Screen Lock - as in different than both my Diamond 6.1 ROM and custom 6.5 ROM..
My devices are setup to sync with an Exchange 2007 server, and which enforces a device lock policy (5 mins). I also have the devices setup to dim their back-light off after 30 seconds and turn the screen off completely after 1 minute.
On the HD2 every time the screen is switched off, be it either via the button or after the 1 min timeout, whenever I resume (even if straight away) I have to both do the swipe-to-unlock and enter my unlock pin code. Whereas on the other devices whether or not I have to enter the pin code is dependant on whether or not the 5 minute lock policy has elapsed.
For example, I might be actively working with a device over a period of 20 minutes. During this time the screen might switch off a number of times, but because I switch it on again <5 mins later then no pin unlock required. However with the HD2 it has to be entered EVERY time - a real pain.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
[BUMP]
Seems this issue gets more involved when moving to 1.48 ROMS!
To summarize, I'm after decoupling the native auto slide-to-unlock functionality from the security code entry. I like the fact the slide-to-unlock is engaged every time the screen is turned off then back on again, however want the security code entry to honour the selected timeout period (so as if the device is turned back on again within that period you only have to slide-to-unlock and not enter the security code).
Surely I'm not alone here..
Definitely annoying
This is definitely the most annoying "feature" of the HD2. Some customization for the logon screen (slide only, slide and pin, slide and pin after timeout period, pin only) would be very welcome.
So a thumbs up / vote for any solution to this.
I have tried the Disable Auto Device Lock.cab from this site, but that breaks all locks and I had several "automatic calls" + high battery drain because of pocket clicks. So I did a hard reset to get rid of this setting.
This issue has been addressed and no actual cause has been determined.
My pin lock pad which I usually use is replaced by a keyboard for no reason and my pin doesn't work anymore.
it keeps asking me for a password and after every 5 attempts I get a 30 seconds countdown.
To add insult to injury trying to restart the computer boots me into download mode.
It's very frustrating to say the least. Fortunately I have a twrp backup that I can restore but it's such a waste of time.
Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Useless posts just to raise your post count are all over this forum, seriously if you cant offer anything remotely helpful why post at all? Also put your tongue back in!
OP can you extrapolate how to arrive at the issue and also please state device model, device status etc?
Are you using an application to set/unset your PIN?
I had this happening to me repeatedly, however it was accepting my PIN as the password so was more just annoying that anything else.
After some experimenting I found that it was Secure Settings (setting the PIN) that seemed to be the cause - somehow it was setting the PIN correctly the first time it ran and then subsequently it would switch to password.
I ditched it and instead setup my set/unset PIN via Pebble Locker (also using Wifi and other bluetooth devices to set/unset PIN).
After using it for a few days successfully, it locked once setting a password instead of PIN, and this time my usual PIN failed to unlock it. Luckily it was about 11pm and I knew that it would automatically unlock at about 7am the next day when the wifi was automatically switched back on - so I didn't need to reset or anything (although I got the impression at the time that you could unlock it via going to your google account somehow - but I can't recall the details and may have this entirely wrong).
I setup a Tasker profile so that I'd have a backdoor to disable the PIN by plugging it into power and checking if I'm at home at the time. Not the most secure solution, but hardly wide open either.
I'm having the same issue and it also appears to be a quirk with Secure Settings. Actually locked me out of my phone yesterday, had to return home where I had task to unlock phone in order to get back in.
