where I can get program to format sd card? when I am formating in my mda compact i don't see it later, after format. anyone can help?
Pocket Mechanic can do it for you & your PC with a cardreader.

I can't use pocket mechanic because my mda don't see this sd card. when I put it in mda I have question Do you want format this card bla bla bla, then I click yes and I get it that card is formated, but when I get to the file explorer I didnt see Storage Card folder. what could it be?

I cannot read my 1GB miniSD card on my Wizard device at all any more. It started being weird yesterday but after a reset I was able to access the data, but today it is totally gone.
A 16MB one works fine. :? These cards don't generally die that easily do they?
Tried in a card-reader? I had some probs a while ago & solved it with Pocket Mechanic (scan for errors) & several formats in my card-reader & magician.
But yes your SD could have died, try it in another device to make sure.

The Sandisk 256mb SD card in my xda II refuses to be formatted! I have used Cnetx Flash Format, StorageTools and PocketMechanic to format the card to get rid of unwanted data. All progs re-format the card, but when rechecking with File Explorer, all data is still there. I note that these files are marked in the Album app with a small lock image, as if they have been attributed read only. If so, how can I change the file attrib?
are you sure that the read/write lock on the card is not turned on ?

Have tried the low level and once again a logical format. Same result: folders and files still present. The "definitely not" was a repeat. Don't have a reader, but will try to borrow.
Have tried to format the SD card via a usb reader (which works! tested on a CF card). No luck: "Windows was unable to complete the format." I guess its kaput, and I have to resign myself to replacing it. Boy, this sure annoys me.
it happened to me once ... I formated my SD card on my qtek 1010 devices and it couldn't be formated on my i-mate :shock:
There is a silly trick but worked for me ... try using XDAtools to copy a ROM file to the SD card ... insert it into your device, usually it asks you to format the card ... this time press YES

Tried XDAtools - got message that "the media is write-protected. Error opening target device. " Tried again only to be told "target device too small to hold an image." Now since the lock is off, this leaves me only one conclusion: its fried. I cannot understand how it could have gotten write-protected? I have never applied any security software to it.

If it doesn't work. It means that your sd card chip is damaged. Check if it is under warranty?
Put it in the toaster for 5 minutes, it wont fix it but it will pass the time.
great - apparently in the last 10 mins my SD card has become corrupted, losing half of my files.....
Doeas anyone know how I format the thing to get it sorted out??

then people say that using xdatools to put a nbf on the card and entering the bootloader of the device and choosing format from there is also a way to format cards which dont want to be format'd

I just bought a 2gb sandisk sd card
it is recognised by the magician but each time it switchs to stand by mode the "memory card" file disappears...So I have to take it out and to insert it again (two times) in order to see it again.
Is it normal ? or there's a problem with this card ?

Take a look @ the card params too. Somehow a magician communicates better with a fat(16) card than fat32.

I can only format the sd card with the magician because i don't have a sd card reader for my PC. But with the program I use (FORMAT) I cannot choose FAT 16 or 32 - do you know a soft to do this ?

I just received my Sandisk Ultra II 2GB card and it's working fine with my S100 (1.12) and I didn't have to format it when I received it.
However I have just come upon a problem. The card works fine in my S100 and I can copy files to it via ActiveSync. In order to speed things up I just tried putting it in the card reader in my laptop which reported it as unformatted...
Got the Sandisk Ultra 2 2GB for my M500 and it works fine in the phone , my card reader however does not like it either.
However i have sd-cf adapter that i use with my camera , i sloted the sd card in to that and in to the card reader and it works fine at very high speed.

Laptop doesn't have CF and I'm reluctant to allow it to format the card in case I suddenly have issues reading it in my S100. :/
hi, i ran a benchmark in my 512mb SD card (unknown brand - missing logo) with pocket mechanic and the results are: Read 5.1X and Write 0.6X. Is it bad?
ok my card reader on my laptop and my S100 must talk a different dialect of SD card because no matter what I do they can't work together.
If I format the card in my S100 and copy files via activesync the laptop reports the card as unformatted.
If I format the card in my laptop and copy files on my pocketpc can't see them.

Hi I just got my sandisk ultra II 2GB SD Card and at first it worked fine.
Magician recognized it as 2GB then i copied some files from my computer with my SD Card Reader. But after inserting the card into my magician i got some weird looking characters, files, and folders. So I inserted it again in my SD card reader and formatted the card. After that my pc and my magician doesn't recognise the card as 2GB anymore just 1GB .
Any help to solve this problem and to get my 2GB back ?
I too facing the same problem it is detecting as 1 GB instead of 2 GB also the after formatting sd card in card reader made i unformated for ppc and viceversa dam,anybody have a solution for this ?

I have a 2gb Sandisk Mini SD Card in my Qtek 9100 and up until today its been working fine. However my Qtek started to behave strange today and suddenly would connect to my pc via ActiveSynch nor could it read the sd card.
Well in fear of loosing all my stuff on the sd card I tried in other phones, on another pc, in my camera....jsut to save it but I couldnt.
I ended up doing a hard reset of the Qtek since I couldnt solve the ActiveSynch issue and now its up and running.
BUT.....my SD card is only on 1gb now. :-( So what can be done ? Format it....yup but I dont have any program to do it with....
Help help help....the next step is to send the sd card back to the company I bought it from but then I'll have to wait for a new one

Well I have just formattet the storage card with StorageTools and when I have the card in my qtek it shows 1gb
But if I put it in my camera and then connect it to my pc I see 2gb....
i had problems on my card and formated using wm5torage from the desktop...and it is working flawlessly, i suggest to do that...but usually that size problems happen in fake cards...do u filled the card some time or at least passed the 1gb limit?
Well, I've been using my SDHC for a while. Been getting lots of memory corruptions, so I just place it in my card reader and reformat the card.
My card got corrupt again, so I thought I would upgrade to the latest ROM update, and would format the card and start again.
So I upgraded the ROM on my trinity, performed a format on my card and then stuck the card into the trinity after my ROM had been updated. Strange ... it wants to format the card, I clicked yes... then a few seconds later it reported an error (i didnt make not of it). I try reading the card from the trinitiy ... then from my PC and now I cant read the card at all.
I have tried on another PC (Windows XP on both).
I have tried WM5torage, I have tried Panason Format, I have tried Pocket Mechanic. Does anyone have any ideas? Its almost like the pocket PC cant see the card at all, and whatever the format did do to the car when it stopped, totally killed it off. Anyone with any ideas?

I had an issue like that with my SDHC card. I took it to the local electronics shop and formatted it in a new SDHC compatible digital camera. Now it works again . I don't thing that it is a good idea to format an SDHC card in your Trinity.
