I need help with my o2 xda II..
Last weekend, i completely forgot that i left my phone in my jacket's pocket. i washed the jacket with the phone. i didn't know till i put my jacket on dryer machine.. it makes a bunch of bump noise. and when i pull my phone out.. it stop working. i haven't put the batery back into the phone just waiting for it to completely dried off. have any1 done this before? would it work again? if not.. what can i do? i'm in us.. there's no o2 dealer or service center anywhere here. also, the rubber part that suppose to cover the antena is missing. where can i buy the rubber that cover the antena. please please please help me. thank you.

 Just dropped my imate on to concrete floor. Amazingly, it survived, screen is OK, just badly scratched left edge of the unit. Now, I am wondering where I can buy replacement cabinet for it. Any ideas?
Welcome to the crowd!
I dropped mine on the street a week ago. Just a few scrathes, but it still works as new.
I don't think you'll have much luck finding a new case - expect at O2 (or T-Mobile).
If You find a way to get a new let us know. I also need one.
is it insured?
if so back it up.... then hold it over your head and drop it.... then repeat as neccessary. If the stubbourn blighter refuses to die, back you car over it.
Then go claim a new one.
Nice idea,
but I'm not sure about the insurance.
I'm not a murder
and right now it is hard to get a new one.
So I have to love my individual device with scratches made of my own.
Jens
Add me to the list... I dropped my imate this morning and a crescent shaped piece of black plastic broke off the top (right in front of the power button). If anyone finds these replacement cabinents or tops, please post it here!

OUch! Even worse that mone!
I think, I am going to start a new thread - pictures of dropped IMATE
They made the bloody thing way too slippery for a phone........maybe we can fix iPAQ 2200 style rubbers on the side.......... :?
The black rubber type thing fell off the back of the case.
The part just under the windows logo.
Anyone know where to get a new one?
mine doesnt have a windows logo but i assume your talking about the battery cover...
try super glue.... (if its the battery cover)

Yeh thats the thing, it fell off without me noticing.
So i have no idea where it is..
Mine fell off too but found it in my case. Its just a small bit of rubber - suggest you find a bit of black rubber and cut one out. Otherwise its a new battery cover but i have not seen anywhere selling them!
Drop into a Cingular/T-Mobile store for a hands on "test drive".
I have a broken battery cover with the rubber part still on it. PM me your address and I'll post it to you.
First come first served.
Steve.
Everyone i know who has owned a Wizard for more than 6 months has lost the black thingy off the back.
Bet all the stylus's start fallin out soon
mine fell off over the summer. the 106 degree weather melted the glue an it just came off...sucks.
I contacted T-mo to get a replacement under warranty. They referred me to HTC USA. I called but could not get a hold of a human. I gave up.
I have had my I-Mate K-Jam for over 6 months now and these things haven't happened........................YET!!!! GULP!!!!
For dutch people (t-mobile) can order spare parts for the MDA Vario (qtek 9100) through the website http://www.solid-vision.com/ AKA http://www.gsmrepareren.nl/
A new cover cost about 15 euro.
Greetz
Mine fell off a couple of days ago too.
Is it really THAT big of a deal??
Like someone said, stop by a phone provider store and switch the back cover with the displays. Assuming it comes off.
I've had mine since the day the K-Jam got launched, I don't even remember how long ago that was haha. But yeah my rubber piece just fell off the other day too. I guess I'm just going to cut out a new piece and glue it on
I phoned up HTC UK for one, cost me £5
my insurance doesn't cover cosmetic damage the the excess is £20 so worth it imo

Stop putting the battery in or plugging it in...whenver water gets in the case of a device like this you need to let it dry thoroughly before trying to put any juice through it at all.
It's often recommended to let the phone sit in a bowl of uncooked rice for at least a day to try to absorb any moisture before trying to turn it back on.

I don't know how comfortable I'd be recommeding using a hair dryer, but I guess it might be worth a try. I'd be sure to use it on a very low setting, and point it only at the back and not the screen side...and from at least 6-8" away.
hmm hopefully it will get sorted out

most hair driers have a cool or air (no heat) setting, use that with reckless abandon!

That sounds like a great idea, I placed a soaked phone on a radiator and given it a day to dry up. It works and It's free, if you have radiators of course. Hoping for the best.

Umm.. So today after I saw that it just won't work as in turn on etc.. I took it too a friend who is also a service agent guy and he opened the phone.. water has done a lot of damage.. we cleaned the phone with some agents, etc and then put it back together.. the phone did start.. but there was water in the display.. and then it turned off.. he told me to come again tomm to check out how to get the lcd back up again.. any thoughts guys?
Update : K, I think my phone is kinda dead for good now.. Because we were not able to get the lcd up now.. And I took it to HTC service center yesterday and they told me that the motherboard has a problem and needs to be replaced with the screen.. And quoted me round about 250-260$ . And then still they said it might not work for more then 2-3 months etc .. But I don't get it.. the phone charges.. it takes incoming calls u can talk to any1 u want.. the other person can listen to u.. if u view it from a quite disturbing angle u can see the screen.. So, do I need to get a new motherboard with LCD or just the LCD.. or should I try with another service center?

I really need help with my dell streak, i switched to my iphone for a day because i forgot to charge my streaks battery, and then in haste to get back to my dell streak cause i was tired of my iphone after one day's use i put the sim in hastily without looking and then i noticed the sim was in the wrong way, i tried to pull it out with my hands, no luck got pliers and tried to pull it out still no luck, any ideas of how to get the sim out will be appreciated.
put a bit of hard thin plastic foil between and try pulling it as straight as possible. best to press it out.
thanks for the help but i cant get foil between it, its wedged too tight in there. Does anyone else have a suggestion of what i can do?
Take it to a phone shop m8, I'm sure they have experience with this kind of thing.
hi ,
actually i want to repair my right cover hinge of XDA o2 Exec.
its screws were pulled out forcefully internaly , last year, i donot know how.
so i packed universal back , after year i thought to use it ..
i tried to insert screws in universal by opening it taking help from HTC universal manual but the holes in hinge is free that screws donot fix in it.
what i should do . plz help me to repair , i even spread thread around so that it may fix in hing's hole but problem not solved...
these are the pictures.. in these picture one screw is inserted how much free hole can support it. otherwise hinge would have been easily seems lifted or attached by wire only , no other support

hey ?? help me , my xda is opened since 2 days.... in my table , waiting for XDA developers to help me
Can you put some glue into the thread so there is something 'solid' to screw into?
Otherwise it may be buying another housing. One of the cheapest ways could be by buying a broken Uni (eg broken screen) off ebay with that has a case which is in good condition.
