from where I can download "O2 Plus"
Adv. and disadv. of the O2 Plus Please
Khurram

If you still need this PM me and I'll email it to you

O2 Plus 1.7
This O2 plus is including inside my extend rom.
There is version of O2 plus can be download from from http://www.seeo2.com
You must owe a O2 XDA before downloading this file else it will not work for your device. Or you can register your IMEI and download. It seem that the 1.7 is no more. Is it version 2.0 which is in the website.
This file is version 1.7.
Different between version 1.7 and 2.0.
Version 1.7
- Stable version
- no mp3 files support for ringtone but use less memory
- has a Profile Menu (Silent, Loud, etc, just like Nokia phone)
- has a Divertion Menu (divert your handphone, just like Nokia phone)
Version 2.0
- Uses alot of memory
- it allow you to use mp3 files as the phone ringtone
- very cool design
- hang sometimes
- same feature as 1.7
Make sure you remove SPB Battery Plus or Battery Pack. It is not necessary to install any battery monitoring as O2 Plus come with it, Profile Selector and Divertion Menu.
One more thing, make sure you use Plugs Rom or your own customize roms with without any O2 Connection Junk.

Still need help of EXPERTS
Dear Jeffkewin, Let me first thank you for that file, secondly, I unzipped that file, copied that .cab file in "my storage" under "my device"(thru active sync) and installed it. It did install, but gave me a pop up screen O2 Plus is designed for some models of Xda check seeO2.com for more details.
Summing up it's not working very fine, Like if i do soft reset while on the startup it again gives me that same message.
It is working like on the main screen i see those O2 plus programs but under application tab i cannot open anything.
Let me clarify that i have O2 Xda IIi with UK Rom, I have set it to corporate user, with no O2 Active running on it.
Please help. can u provide me ur mail id. mine is rajiminhas at the rate yahoo dot com.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks Talents, you've saved everyone alot of time there
Some of you may be interested in this:
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Ma...500_WWE1.06.175/Orange_GPRS_Desconnect.sa.CAB
It adds a disconnect option to the GPRS popup. Only realised it was an Orange thing when i put the 1.12 rom on my M500 and saw it had gone.
some of the files you've attached say tmobile on them.. does that brand the phone? will i have t-mobile popping up on every app i open. I bought my jam from dubai and using it on cingular.. i'm also on the WWE rom, just wondering if these .cab's are compatible.
The cab files are compatible with all HTC Magician machines (i.e. i-mate JAM, O2 XDA mini, Qtek s100, T-Mobile Compact, Dopod 818, etc.) and will not pop up any brand or logo after installation.
thanks for that info, i will do these updates in about an hour. thanks again
Are these cab-files ripped of the default install on the windows-dir?
Fonix voicedial is eating a lot of memory of the ppc. The normal installation (downloadable at fonix) can install on the sd card, but the extended rom versions i have seen only install totally on phone memory

Use CAB-Installer. With that, you can choose where to install.

Many thanks for your efforts. Very informative.

Thanks for the effort mate, I shall have a play with those.
Will ask one more time: I am on holiday so my only internet-connection right now is with my Magician and GPRS. Pocket IE will not handle attachments on the forum (downloads the php-file). Could they be downloaded in any other way or could someone upload the cab-files to the ftp? Please..
EDIT: Of course I found the files on the ftp and succesfully downloaded them with resco. Sorry, should have looked better. Even so it is quite irritating that attachment downloading is not working with Pocket IE

I tried that.. but if the path is an hardcoded default in de cab, cab-installer uses that default
Also, i do not see the programs of the extended rom (when i install them myself) in my 'remove programs'-list.

In fact, downloading works in PIE. Just download the file (it'll show as download.php, correct) and then rename it to whatever it should be with the extension that it's supposed to have. Alternatively, when trying to download via PIE, in a "Download" popup dialog tap "Change" and change the name of the file to what it is supposed to be. After your download is completed, use your file explorer to locate the file and change the extension of the file from .php to a correct one.

Aha! Thnx very much for that info mata!
But how does this work?! If I want to install for instance the Camera Wizard to update my camera, where do I have to install it? I asume it has to overwrite the original camera app, or can I really put it everywhere I want? And to make it clear... does this hard reset your device?!

ROM mda pro

hi, I bought a mda pro.
If I want can I install the rom of I-mate in english?
and where can I download?
and for unlock?
thank you
Hi,
sorry for eventually beeing unpolite, but have you ever tried to read a single post in this forum ?
Here is a complete forum called "Universal upgrading" .. there you will find all the answers to your questions.
If you don´t find them within 10 seconds, try the search. If you still don´t find it .. no, you don´t have the skills to upgrade your mda, you will toast it.
- Superbowl
PS: if you still have questions AFTER you read, you are welcome to ask.
Download this file, it contains the I-Mate JASJAR Rom update with a No Device ID executable.
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/MDA_PRO_JASJAR_ROM_UPGRADE_WWE_11353_137_10301.zip
Put the MDA in bootloader (Camera + Reset + Power)
Connect the device via USB
Run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe
Once updated, press reset on the MDA Pro
That's it! Then you'll have a nice MDA pro with MSN, Skype and ALOT more free RAM!
MDA Pro upgading
hollinshead
I see that you have updated your MDA Pro with the IMate ROM Update, Im keen to do this but wanted to know what the pitfalls are?
What about connection settings? How can I get them back?
Does all the software work OK? Can you still Video call?
Ive had problems with the signal being a little poor in my area, does the radio upgrade seem to solve it or not.
Sorry for all the questions, but if I balls this up, I have no original ROM to go back to, as TMobile dont seem to release them on the net.
Any help you can give would be great
HI,
at least you should make a complete backup of your extended rom. There are all the files you may need to re-install the original customization, e.g. the original connection settings.
- Superbowl
Problems
Its academic now really as I cant complete the upgrade, it comes up with the wrong country code error.
Is there a solution to this, mine is UK TMobile?
Did my MDA pro this morning
1. Make sure you are running form the bootloader or you cannot install as the id issue comes up. If you aren't sure about accessing the bootloader- run the update first - it will fail but phone should be in bootloader.
2. Disable USB connections in Activesync,
3. Re-run update - all should work fine.
The new rom includes a prompt on set-up for your carrier settings and should work fine without having to use the files from the extended rom backup you shoud make before playing with a new rom (allows you to install the specific customisations for your device
Thanks to the poster for the link to the files
Issues solved,
MS voice command now installs
Streaming video via ORB works (a bit gimmicky though and no full screen)No more t-mobile schemes - much nicer dial skin and today themes
It works fine, the T-Mobile MMS settings are installed for you (just select the network when going through setup on the PDA after the flash).
The GPRS / 3G settings you can add manually.
Access point: general.t-mobile.uk
Username: t-mobile
Password: one2one
Video calls etc work fine, because its all included in the I-Mate rom. What's more, it doesn't have that horrid T-mobile dialler theme!

Ok Total commander gives you access to the extended rom using the method just posted above.
But if you want to actually have the extended rom showing all time, then you need this...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=33680&highlight=extended+rom
The extended rom unlocker will give the actual extended rom as space deginated extended_rom2 and its about 9.85mb size or something with between about 350kb and 2.5mb of .cab files in it depending on whether its a Qtek (Which has the least amount of files), I-mate, o2 or T-Mobile, these last two probably (along with Orange) will have the most 'junk in them.
Once you have ran the exteneded rom unlocker and soft reset your device it will be accesible through file explorer you won't need TC.
You can then go in and delete (be careful to make sure what everything does first) its your own responsibility, and remove what you don't need.
For example on the I-mate Extended Rom you cane remove Backgammon, Skype and the anti virus prog. There wasn't much on the Qtek Rom I just put on mine just clearvue and soemthing else inconsequential, there was no skype or antivirus, but I believe some Qtek roms might have this.
T-Mobile is abother story, there is a shedload of crap in the extended rom, ranging from a today screen toolbar to small progs, there is list knocking about of what each file does. When I changed from T-Mob to I-mate and then Qtek I just transferred the T-Mobile GPRS settings and the GPRS disconnect button .cab and put them in the exteneded Rom myself and let it run.
Also on I-mate Rom there are carrier settings that you can delete which won't apply to you, basically lots fo countries phone settings, like o2 UK, T-Mobile Spain etc etc, depending on where you are in the world.
You can't delete the I-mate .tsk todayscreens as far as I know, they are not in the ExtRom. The Qtek ExtROm doesn't have the extra .tsk's just default and the Guava Bubbles one.
If anyone wants the T-Mobile GPRS .cab and GPRS disconnect button .cab I can send it through msn or email.
that doesn't work either. I treid with the unlocker and deleted the files with TC. If i check the content no files are there, but when i try to copy other files to the ext. Rom it says that the volume is write protected. I softreseted several times also.
Any hint on that ? How have all the others deleted the files in extended rom ?
Regards
Joachim

Might not work for you but it worked for me and a load of others. Once the extended rom is visible you can delete files easily, you don't need TC like I said. Its easier to put additional cabs into my documents sync them across and just run them.
Yeah, that's a pitty.... I have the Vodafone VPA Compact II, which is the Wizard 100 afaik.
Someone around here has the same model and succeeded in removing the cabs from the extended rom ?

JAMin + changing ROM

Hi Guys i own a imate JAMin that i bought and it has telstra branding on the phone/pda, it isnt locked to this carrier, but i need to get rid of there loaded stuff on the pda
what i need to know is a few things if possible please
1. is there a walk through somewhere on how to change the rom to a standard one
2. where can i download a new rom from
3. can i screw it up bad ?
any other help would be great
Thanks
t0ne
Easy, just download Total commander from http://www.ghisler.com/
Open it up and at the top type \Extended_Rom
This will show the contents of your extended rom, you will see loads of things but the ones you want are the cabs relating to your provider. Or all providers actually, Delete allt the cabs that dont start with Default_ these are what brand your device when you hard reset.
Now just hard reset, it will isntall all the normal stuff but will leave you with a brand free jamin.
Hi dannyoneill,
thanks for the program, only problem i have is how do i add the jamin to it so that i can see it and do what u r saying ?
thanks
You need to download and install Windows CE FS plug-in. You will then see a mobile device entry in the file window. I recommend dragging it to the toolbar so you will always have a button for convenient access (total commander can open files directly form the device).
Also I don't remember it now, but if you search this forum there is a registry tweak that will unhide your extended ROM so you can use it for extra storage space (and manipulate files in it using regular explorer both on device and PC). You can use the free PHM Registry editor to apply the tweak.
Just follow the instructions to install total commander onto your PPC. Make sure you click the link to the mobile version and not the desktop version.
thanks dannyoneill, got it working..
jsut a few other questions if u dont mind
im in the \Extended_Rom folder with the default stuff but the telstra stuff i want to get rid of has Default_Telstra_australia_SA_UN_V2.20.CAB and also Default_Australia_Telstra.CAB as the file names, will these be ok to delete still ?
thanks
Yes, you can delete them.
If you really want everything here is safe to delete. What it usually contains are patches like driver updates, applications like the backgammon, antivirus and Skype.
Below is taken from another post, its a little out of date but still good to see whats what. For me. I removed all the operators apart from my own (as it doesnt brand) plus got rid of backgammon, antivirus (totally useless on a PPC) and skype as the latest version is better (especially if you apply the registry fix to get it working)

P.S.: may I install basic stuff to the ExtROM while it's hidden ?
Or, if I need to unhide it, install, then re-hide, will such software still playable ?
I mean for example:
- Total commander itself
- Resco explorer
- Storage tools
- Sprite Backup
- and so on...
Is it a strange idea ?
Thanks again for this illuminating thread.
You can unlock and install things no problem, not done it myself, done know if they will still be usable after its re-hidden i would think not.
The extended rom is reserved so empty or not its not going to give you more ram or rom storage at all. The best thing to do is unlock it and use it for storage. The annoying thing is if you hard reset you then have to re-unlock it.

Cool ! Thank you very much, Xplode.
So, how did you managed to do it without a working BA ?
Also, 2 questions:
1) I though WM6.1 was not officially released yet, is this a alpha, beta, RC or the final version ?
2) Would be nice to see what improvements could we expect from WM6.
Cheers,
JP
Great !!! Waiting for your ROM long time man. Thanks
i got new screen from ebay but it stopped working properly i am disassemble my BA again to see what happened ... (i have no luck with it)
well there was only one official WM6.1 rom by Vodafone for Kaiser this is a port from it
Improvements over WM6 are posted all over the board, don't be lazy do a search
How about WIFI and .NET CF?

Xplode,
Yes i have seen other WM6.1 threads in the forum (in fact there is a lot of them, specially from pdaviet), but you don't mention for instance if you are using "wifi driver v2" or not, nor if any other speed or stability improvements will this ROM bring versus your WM6 ROM, i meant.
Also any know issues from BA's WM6 solved, etc.
Just a thought.
JP
AAAA, can´t wait longer !!!
i have checked 3 times a day for an update ! (the last 2 weeks !)
(have donate already......)
We must wait... I have PDAviet 6.1 rom but i think that Explode's rom will be better. Respect man you have made grate work!
a couple of minutes to go... must... wait... a little... longer...
thanks for keeping it "clean", which bolsters my hope that it doesn't have the zoomsms application
it's very considerate of you to include the steps on how to upgrade, and to give a description of the ROM.
congratulations on your work, xplode, and good luck on your screen.
Good work explode
thanx a lot man ur the best . I will try it soon ...Im sure it will be great
thnx 1 milliard times
i'm install now
Thanks alot for this great rom!
I found the same wifi-issues like in pdaviet-roms 191999. Wifi isn't really happy to connect to wpa-protected networks. As workaround you can turn on wifi, configure your network settings, turn wifi off without connection. Than turn on wifi several times and wait. On my BA ist will connect after 2x turn on/off most of the time...
Will test other nice features of wm6.1 now...
Hi Xplode! Thanks again for your great releases.
Does this Rom includes Wifi v2? if not, have You tested if it works in this rom?
Thanks for your great rom
Thank you very much.
The rom has the default .NET CF 2.0 SP2, It has not WIFI Driver 2 (i am not sure why you calling it that). Wifi behaves the same way as in my and helmi wm6 roms.
Waiting for a long time till today!
Thanks in advance!
But cannt download...
Nice ROM!
One of the MOST anticipated release...
Thank you so much for the effort Xplode...
Most excellent work!

And clean it definitely is ... running very smoothly and stable. I've not run into any issues with using the applications/setup I use, including the entire EXTROM as you've provided.
WM 6.1 ... Mmmmm ... yummy.
