anybody has any idea where i could obtain the ROM for the country Singapore.
I got the one from Europe but is says an error of "Country ID".
Please help
ROMs are not specific to countries. What providers like T-mobile, O2, Orange, is to make some special modification in the Extended ROM by adding programs specific to their requirements. You can install a generic WWE or Chinese ROM.
Please do a search and you will find a lot of topics/threads on how to change/upgrade to a new ROM and even to the BS hack. There are tutorials created by very helpful and kind members.
use MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe to update.the system wont ask 4 C_ID

I need an expert! I downloaded the RUU172126 WWE imate.exe file from iMate and tried to do an upgrade on my new 2nd hand XDA2 which runs on ROM 1.60.00 WWE. It will not load as of course the country code is not correct. Dummo didn't think about this when he purchased the unit. Do I do nothing or is there someway around this?
there is mate!
download ER2003edit.exe or xda2nbf.exe and change the operator..... since the language is both WWE for your upgrade and device...
only the operator would differ, that be O2 and I-mate...
so you have to change the upgrade's characteristics....
read ony DCS's posts on fix upgrades and downgrades
goodluck
Thanks very much Z man. I have one more request. can you direct me to where I can download the exe files?
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/wiki/CompleteTools
here you go mate!
T mobile to iMate conversion
I am experiencing the 'country code error' and will use the ER2003 edit tool. What i dont get is how to change the country/operator as I dont have a code. imate does not exist in the drop down menu. Do I simply type i-mate in and proceed? Help me Zman or somebody I am out of my depth!
Has anyone managed to successfully upgrade or change rom?
If yes, what rom did you start from and what steps for the upgrade/transition?
This will be useful information for all.
THanks,
I'd like to know the same thing. My Orbit came loaded with TMo MDA Compact III ROM instead of O2 ROM. Needless to say I'm a bit peeved. The vendor is trying to fix but I really need the UK or WWE English ROM for O2. Has anyone dumped this ROM?
well,
on the wiki you will find the tmobile uk wwe rom. this is flashable if your machine is cid unlocked-in case it is not(standard) you will get kicked out off the installation by a comment named "wrong ID model" at about 3% of the running routine.
to unlock cid and flash the named rom, afaik the only way is to pay imeicheck.co.uk.
afaik there is no other vendour rom available yet, meaning no chance to fully switch to e.g. O2 etc.
alternatively you can exit the installation prior to extrom installation via a softreset at the 3second count. this not installing your provider cabs, you can then download the various available extrom cabs from the wiki and install them manually by copy and double-tap on your device.
Thormdac,
This is helpful info. Can you help me with this question: I have a greek htc p3300 rom but I would be happy to have the English version. Should I simply prevent ext rom from installing or do I need to change rom? If I need to change rom will I be able to do so or could it be locked to the Greek rom?
Thanks,
dear apap,
language is purely locked to the rom version and has simply nothing whatsover to do with the extrom version cabs you install!!!
in order to change language to english then you have to use a rom stating...."wwe" somewhere in its declaration.wwe=worldwideenglish.
now your machine "htc p3300" is with wireless lan, right? afaik, the tmouk rom has not implemented wlan on my german hero(without wlan!). the community here still isnt sure where the wlan comes from, the chip or the rom. so if i remember correctly and the tmouk rom not having wlan support, but your machine needing it, then once u unlocked cid and install the tmouk rom should end you up not having a functional wlan! in case we suppose wrongly...you are the guinnea-pig...you should have wlan. confusing? well i simply dont know off by heart any more about the uk machines having or not having wlan.
greetz
Helpful once again Thermdoc,
The Greek version does have wlan so I will wait to see if somenoe manages to find a wwe rom that is wlan enabled before experimenting.
cheers, apap
Hello, i am from greece, so i am not that familiar with the loads of names i came across for the p3300, since in my country there is only HTC Branded phones, not XDA or DOPOD or whatever. I have the phone for quite some time now and i am always in the tact of updating my devices. So the time for my htc has come. I am gonna unlock it through imei-check since as i read there is not a commercial unlocker yet, and i am having a bit of a problem in order what rom i should pick to flash on my phone. I really dont need the greek support on my phone, since all my devices are on english. So, can someone help me choosing in what rom i should choose ?
And i have couple of questions too,
1) I have a rom from my manufacturer's page that only updates the Greek language menus, if i flash to some abroad rom will i still able to put that rom to my phone to have greek again or no ?
2) Will (Lets say O2 or another ROM) be compatible with my carrier ( Cosmote GR).
Any help will be great.
Thank you for your time,
Best Regards , George.
Hello everybody,
I have bought my new HTC HD2 from Vodafone Germany. I live in Germany and ,as all windows devices, my HTC is localized to Germany and the windows mobile 6.5 comes with the German language and I wanted to change it to English. I tried to download the ROM upgrade to "English-Arabic support" from HTC website but when I put the serial number of my device it says that this version is not suitable for your device and I have found another version "RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.48.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.28.50.07U_2.05.51.05_2_Ship.exe" and when I tried to install it I got an error says "INVALID Vendor ID" or something like this.
Finally I have bought a 3ed party software just to be enabled to read arabic but the language is still German
So please if anybody knows how to solve this problem and help me I will be thankful.
Best Regards,
Amer
install hspl then instal whichever run you like via usb.
i had the same probs here with vodaphone uk...
as above, install hspl, the sticky of this can be found in the leo roms section of this site and it will guide you, but the installation process is really straight forward.. then you are able to install any of the ROMS, be they official OR custom cooked roms..
My personal favourite is the ENERGY series of roms.. but have a good look about, im sure you will find many that offer the practicality and versatility your after!

Hi Ell_H,
Thank you very much for your reply and I have read about HSPL and it sounds amazing tool but another question about restoring the old system. How can I get the original ROM and restore the system to its old state after changing it?
Thanks in advanced.

You need to find the original rom for your phone, both region AND provider(if you were getting invalid serial on teh htc website then your phone is provider locked, so for example you would need to look for the german t mobile rom, if you got your phone from t mobile germany)
Once you have your original rom you can then use sd card method to remove hspl and restore to factory rom. You can only do this with your original shipped rom.
Problem upgradind German Vodafone ROM
Hi,
I have the same problem upgrading the Vodafone ROM. I would like to load the generic ROM or any other ROM that works with Vodafone. It can be English as well. If I try to load the generic through HTC site it checks the SN and doesn't allow the ROM upgrade.
What to do to load another up to date ROM without running into the same issue as Amer? There are so many ROM version out there and I don't want to risk trying the wrong ROM.
Thanks for help!

You need to obtain the rom from vodafone, or use HSPL / Gold Card to flash another ROM.
Thx for answer. I read about HSPL and will figure that out. I read there are requirements concerning the radio. My radio is 2.04.50.22_2 and ssems pretty old. Does someone know where to find the best guide how to do the HSPL install?
There are many ROMS out there and I want to make sure I will not run into trouble using it with Vada. What ROM to take is the question?
Danke!

Hi, I'm in the UK and purchases an HTC HD2 from Phones4U on the Vodafone network. I've been trying to upgrade my ROM (currently on 1.66.405) and hit a few problems.
I tried to download roms direct from HTC and thne found out about the commercial problems between Vodafone and HTC, i.e. my phones serial number won't allow me to download a rom directly from HTC and instead I should download from Vodafone.
I then downloaded a ROM from Vodafone and then the installation fails at 1% because of an invalid vendor id - presumably because my ROM is currently on Phones4U's vendor id instead of Vodafones?
Has anyone else had a similar problem? If so can anyone point me to a program to change my vendor id (all the links I found using search seem dead) and what value should I use to set my vendor id to Vodafone UK rather than Phone4U ??
All help appreciated
There is a thread with all the official roms listed. Even a dedicated website. Google.
Its because your on the latest Rom already.
I purchased my HD2 on Orange from phones4u it comes with the generic wwe Rom, so no operator specific junk on it,phones4u dont have thier own software or vendor id.
The only difference between your Rom and the Vodafone 1.72 (I think) is generally the hotfixes are now intergrated.
hi, i experienced the same issue with "invalid vendor ID"
Presently I am running 1.48 WWE Stock ROM and i tried to install the latest hot fix on the HTC web site - New SMS Function Update. It says the hotfix is applicable to ROMs less than 1.66
Anyway I received the error "invalid vender ID" at the 4% of the installation. I tried again but received the the same error.
Thanks
Thanks bbobeckyj (!) I scoured the ROM forum for the Leo and upgraded my HSPL. I could now install the official vodafoen rom from their website directly and so I presume I would also be able to install official htc roms at a later date when I need to, though I think the Voda one will do me for now
