Hello XDA,
This question has probably been asked millions of times but after looking for over half an hour and not finding a solution I have to open a new thread.
The problem is that I'm not able to download Android apps from the market all of the sudden. I was able to install apps yesterday but each time I click "Install" the progress bar pops up and I see a notification in the top right corner. The progress bar in the notifications area doesn't fill up and after a while it just dissapears. In the market the progress bar doesn't dissapear but stays empty aswell. From time to time I get the "download unsuccessful" message but most of the time my only option is to "Cancel download".
I am running: darkstone HD2Froyo V3 (26-October-2010)
I've had this problem with one previous build, but I don't remember which one.
Things I've tried:
-Deleting/Signing-out of Google Voice
-I've tried different APN's
-I've tried both with and without Wi-Fi
-I've tried rebooting my phone
-I've tried multiple apps
The weird thing is that everything worked fine yesterday.
I hope someone can help me and I hope I'm not the 134893489th person to open a thread regarding this.

It is the market, not the build. The market has been acting funny lately.
I suddenly have the same problems.
I had the same problems, but after upgrading kernel to hastarin's 7.7 market works again, both 3g/wi-fi.
try creating another google account i guess it helped for me (in the past i had the same problem and tried a lot of things and finally it worked... dont know what exactly was the reason).
Funny, I am having the same issue. Last two days, I have been doing alot of formatting and resintall of Android (froyostone build) and I never had problems downloading from Market.
But now, all of a sudden, I am having problems. I even tried reformatting my SD card and reinstalling froyotstone, but still no luck.
same. started 2 days ago. still going on today. every now and then an app will work but most wont do crap.
Thanks for the quick replies you guys! Guess we'll just have to wait this one out ;-)

unmount sd card and then download and install, it works for me...
any updates on this problem? ive been researching for the past 3 hrs to no avail. i might as well go back to wm without googles apps....
unlike matutemhn, nothing ever worked for me. its hard to believe that there hasnt been a solid answer to this problem given the amount of people here on the boards who use these 3rd party roms. im hoping its a google thing indeed. i dont wanna go back to wm.
i just unmounted my sd card and remounted it...totally froze my device.
In the past I've had this problem, I've solved it by:
-Settings > Applications > Running applications
Force Close market app
Clear cache and data
I can't remember if I rebooted, it's been a while but probably wouldn't hurt. I don't have my phone to hand right at the moment so the process might not be word-for-word perfect.
There doesn't seem to be a reason behind this but i certainly don't think it'll do any harm - at worse you've wasted 30 seconds
i just tried your way kinsago, doesnt work for me. yup i think in the boat of people who have "tried it all" to no avail. cant even sign into talk.
been days now and i still cant download. has this anything to do with having a ported OS on the phone? google detecting that? even that wouldnt make sense since people here are able to download on and off.
wow, i did axactly as you said and it worked!!
just clear the cache and the data and voila!!!!!
i can once more download apps from android market
Hello all,
Installed android for the first time last night and really like it, runs well, except for the inability to download anything from the market. My network connection is fine can browse the web, by wifi and mobile data connection, but every time i try to download anything i get the 'download unsucessful' message. I have tried every solution mentioned above and spent hours googling to no avail!
If anyone has any more suggestions or thoughts it would be appreciated, this thing will drive me crazy shortly!
Cheers
Stuart
grabbed my "old" android folder with mdj froyo sense clean on it and gues what: it works again....
FML...
For some reason the toast/ push notifications for my apps that use it have stopped working...
Apps are:
Live soccer Scores lite
Spell It
AlphaJax
I also don't get toast notifications when an email comes in
Anyone else run into this problem or have any ideas how to fix this? I don't want to hard reset the phone...would lose way too much
Have you tried reinstalling them?
I get an error for Spell It that says:
Cannot initialize push notifications channel. You will not receive notifications related to this application
I have uninstalled and installed the game several times...same issue. It worked at some point but just stopped all of a sudden.

Only 15 apps can register for notifications, additional apps won't be able to. It's a platform limitation.
I tried to find it in the official docs, but can't. It's definitely in some stuff I was sent as a launch partner. Engadget also covered it.
Could this be your problem?
You have hit the 15 app limitation. This has happened to me several times and removing apps did not help. I had to factory reset the phone. I hope this bug (having to reset) is fixed with the NODo update. I know that 15 app limit will be there but having to reset the phone is totally BS. Samsung Focus unlocked.
Ugh. I am also suddenly experiencing this issue. I don't want to go start removing every app or doing a hard reset and spend a day re-configuring everything again from scratch.
I wish someone with the NoDo update could tell us somehow if this was fixed?
Nodo Update
I didn't experience the push notification problem before forcing NoDo update, but I am experiencing it now... Push works on emails, but not on my weather app, beezz, stocks live - all used to work before I did pre-nodo and nodo today.
Hi I've got this problem since the very beginning after I have purchased my note 4. Well basically all the default applications keep resetting themselves so every couple of days when I choose link,it keeps asking me which browser I want to use. Which application I want to use for videos, for youtube etc.
This is not caused by installing new apps.
Anyone had this problem?

Ok I got my long awaited s7 edge today,I've been messing with it for hours, twice I set it up using my last phone backup and it kept getting touch wiz home has stopped error so I figured I had a corrupted file in the backup so I factory reset a third time and installed 467 apps one by one, took me 4 freaking hours everything was ok for awhile then settings kept crashing, then a rcp components has error kept popping up so I tried restarting then as soon as it reboots briefing crashes, then UI has stopped error kept popping up over and over and over! Ugh! I'm on my 4th factory restall. I'm not sure what is going on? Any suggestions?

Not trying to be smart here...but I would try not installing 500 apps lol chances are one of those apps is causing it
That's what I figured, probably a corrupted app or something to do with un updated apps clashing with Google now or marshmallow. A lot of my apps are widgets, live wallpapers, launcher themes, keyboard themes...etc,etc... So I just installed about 100 apps that are important. I've used my same back up in several phones, this is the first time I've had a problem. But I'm tired of messing with it,so far its doing ok. I'll just have to download apps or themes and widgets when I want to use them, they are all saved under my previous apps in Google play if I need to find them.
Jesus.....467 apps? I don't think I've even tried out 467 apps over the last 6 years on Android and iOS.

A bulk of those are themes and widgets,I'm not sure that's the exact number that's just the amount my backup listed,a lot could be system apps. I've realized I need to trim down as they do take up a ton of space. They are always saved under my apps in Google play so they are there if in need them. I'm a retired nurse,I did a career change around 2007 and got a 2 year degree in IT Technology,I now develop apps and do IT work out of my home. I used to be only iOS then I discovered android and a bunch of my apps are ones I've tried or saved through the years. It's time for a spring cleaning app purge.
Same thing is happening to my S7 that I long awaited to upgrade from S4.
In S4, I used to press the home button some time and the applications in the background came, I think in the Marshmallow they changed it to the setting button on the left of the home button.
When I pushed the home button in S7, Google app came out. I think I cancelled this command in settings yesterday night. Now when I push the home button sometime, "System UI stooped" notifications comes.
I tried cleaning the cache of the System UI app but it is still happenning.
Hello. I recently bought the Nubia Z17, really really happy with it. But there is issues with it which I have tried to solve but haven't suceeded.
The biggest issue:
I do not get notifications constantly, just sometimes. Snapchat, Messenger and Facebook pops up when they want to, but its very rare. Gmail never pops up, and never syncs in the background. I have tried to fix this by changing the settings in the NeoSafe app, but it doesnt want to work.
An annoying issue:
Also, a problem that happens when the phone gets cold. It feels like its pressing the left button by it self, the ''open app-drawer'' pops upp all the time and when i press it down it pops up again. I live in Sweden, and its currently only -5 outside, and China have that weather too, so why is it a problem?
An issue which I can't understand:
Also, I sometimes having trouble downloading apps from Play Store, I have tried to solve this and it is mostly solved by removing cache from the app, but same thing keeps happing after a while.
Anyone got any tips or solutions? I think I have the chinese rom with google services installed. Works great overall, fast, smooth and nice screen. I would like to avoid flash another rom into it or restore it.
Thanks.
i got the same problem on my z17s.... i have to let the app opened in multitask to have the notification, lucky i have 6gb of ram....i tried with neosafe and app settings but still the same...
if you have your phone rooted you can convert the apps (WhatsApp ...) as Systemapp. I did it with LuckyPatcher. With Titaniumbackup works that too. But I have had problems that the app was gone.
Give it a try
Here the same problem with my Z17s ... also tried to enable the apps in the "performance mode" in the power management, also no luck for some apps (although whatsapp works fine).

Hi, I also recently got my z17, I was very excited to finally have a "flagship" phone. I encounter the same problem. I have tried everything said here, but what I did kinda worked. So I did a factory reset. Once reset and log in in the google app 1st, and then the play store, I downloaded the apps, but before opening the apps for the 1st time I went directly into the permissions section in settings and allow just about everything, I did the power performance and the network performance, then I opened the apps and I went into the apps settings to allow notifications. Like I said, it kinda work. I don't get FB notifications as often, but I do get gmail.
I had thought that it was a restriction of background data, but apparently is not.
Now, I cannot sync my google calendar with my gmail account in the phone. When I download the app and I open it it has a [email protected] account...and that is not me, I cant change it or anything. Do you know how to fix it?
Check if you have Neo Safe or something named like that. It acts as a security manager for your device. Its also able to block notifications. I think I changed some settings there and then it started to work.
