I have folowing device:
OS 1.3.9.4 RUS
GSM 1.13.10
ExtRom 1.1.7.105
Date 9/29/05
1. After I install GSM ver.1.13.10, i have most discharging batary (short batary-life). It' not good.
Question: Can I install now ver.1.12.10 (previosly installed)?
2. I have strange problem with GSM.
Phone indicator showing good coverage zone of GSM, but incoming calls may not be received (auto response from operator voice system). Only after I calling to any phone number from my device, incoming calls will be good.
Question: Can I do something, or it's hardware problem?
3. I have strange problem with GPRS.
When I turn device ON, GPRS works OK.
But, after some time (with no changing place, where I standing), device can't connect (!) to GPRS. Soft reset -> GPRS work good. After some time -> same problem. After reset -> good work.
Question: Can I do something, or it's hardware problem?
4. Can I do full ROM backup with any software?
I would like to have a FULL BACKUP on a case of warranty service. So that I could do upgrading on mu choice, but in case of breakage of the device that I could restore a BACKUP and give device to repair without superfluous claims from service-center to insertions.
Question: What software can do that?

последняя - это имеется ввиду по последняя по времени записи в каталог???
не знаю как винда, но там же радио ром древний!
Но там же для I-Mate прошивки.
Я понимаю, что устройства только "лейблом" отличаются, но все-таки спрошу: А оно что, подходит? Вот, я прям прошиваю и никаких глюков и косяков не вылезет?

У меня MDA VARIO,немецкий.Перешил в IMATE KJAM английский, 11 января вшил русскую прошивку с FTP.CLUBIMATE.COM.Пользуюсь месяца 2,глюков никаких.Работать стал после этого пошустрее, реально.Но перед тем как прошивать, сними device_ID, по другому не прошьется, даже не запустися апгрэйд.

You mean cyrillic input, or russian rom (OS)?
Input is possibble at any rom (imho), you should change this key:
HKCU\Control Panel\Keybd
String: Locale
Value: 0419
The best russian rom is here:

Only one serious question:
Is this ROM (for IMate K-JAM) completely installing and working on Qtek9100 device? I'm novice on this.
No crash, no previos bugs, no installation problems?...
Is installation procedure of IMate ROM to Qtek device simply?
I just run "setup" and it's all?

CID-Ulock it first, then you can run update.
I changed ROM from Qtek9100 to Imate K-Jam.
Update procedure is done complete.
But, problems not go away.
I am ready to reconcile to other problems, but I would like to accept incoming calls.
Is it possible to disconnect somehow GPRS absolutely? I.e. that phone did not try to define at all presence of this function at my mobile provider?
I think my problems created on that stage of communication, and my RADIO-block is not responding to the device OS and to the mobile provider.
I just don't get it, is your phone trying to connect to GPRS by itself?
Or you have some software witch forses to do it?
Did you ask somebody else on russian forums?

No. I have no software, forcing connection.
No. Device no connecting to GPRS automaticly.
But.
When I stand in GRPS-zone, my Qtek shows one icon (big "G" letter)
When I stand in non-GPRS-zone (or just-started/resetted device), Qtek shows other icon on the same place.
Why it changing icons?
Because it knows, where GPRS-service available.
Why it know that?
Because it TESTING my mobile operator every time.
And... My old phone (Siemens ME45) have special function, when i can turn off GPRS-service. It helps me to save more batary power. Otherwise it seems like my Qtek now (testing GRPS-availability every time).
I always have this icon, but it does not mean you have GPRS
connected, it means your radio is on.

But, why RADIO function is represents by "G" letter? Why not "R"-letter (logicaly means)
And why device have two icons?
One for my phone (and powerfull "phone"-zone represents by bars). Call them "audio-track".
And second (with G letter) ... For what?
And why second icon changing? (when "phone"-icon have no changing in the same place)
And...
Why, when swithcing ON my phone, the first appears an icon of phone, and then an icon with letter G? So we have some time interval between two icons appearing.
And...
If "G" letter means an RADIO-channel of device, so what it says for me?

It means GPRS avaliable, not connected, if connected, it will change

And it means than device testing mobile operator every time (from time to time) Logicaly? Good.
Now I want swithing OFF that function for my device.
Not switching off for ALL phone functions, but switching off only "GPRS availability testing" function.

This function is present, working good and save batary power on my old phone (Siemens ME45). And may be help me to resolve problem of my availability for my mobile operator (when my device must responding to my mobile operator, but not do that)

I made quite the mistake yesterday. I have an MDA compact that came from T-Mobile Germany and originally had german as the default language. It was easy to change to english by going to regional settings & selecting english.
So I didn't think twice about using a German T-Mobile ROM upgrade - and now I'm stuck with GERMAN!!! Regional settings doesn't change the language any more! what the heck?
Sooooo, I need a WWE .exe ROM that will load - I tried a UK WWE and I was told by the installer that I had the wrong language and install could not continue. Is there a way to go back to WWE? I don't care at this point what version.....
Also, I have downloaded from the FTP server other ROM versions but they are all .nb1 files and, despite my best efforts, I can't understand the proper way to install these. I've looked thru lots of posts and found one set of instructions but they were very hard to understand. HELP!!

Yes, for me its stable... I used both of them, but I think, 550 is more friendly, but I couldn't know your taste...
If I remember well, 550 is a Qtek S100 rom, 172 is an Orange or something else.

yeah that right jorde, ur memory is good.
but most of people in this forum says that v1.12 is not stable due to gprs and bluetooth problems & and it also used more memory than the old version. Is that true?
btw jorde, did u know how to update the caller id? because it says dll file is being used unable to update the callerID. Even after I restating, still being used. can u help me with it. thanks..
I think, everybody on this forum always want to use the best and the newest SW... For me its ok, I had only a little bluetooth problem, for my bluetooth gps I need COM8 port, but XDA mini has COM5 by default, but I got a good program (GPSGate) to make it virtually.
But the bluetooth by itselves absolut ok.
For me, Caller ID is no problem, Phone --- Tools----- Option----- Caller ID, and it works without problems.
Perhaps, some other program use it.

I got the WM6 ROM running. However, I now have the problem - after switching the device on and off a few times - that the home screen shows 'No service' where my provider name normalyy appears. Furthermore Calendar application is no longer working (same for Contacts, start button etc.)
Could it be that there is not enough memory to run WM6 on my Dutch SDA (Feeler model), or is there a simple answer to my problems.

Now... First of all, considering my kind of usage. Is it actually usefull for me to upgrade? I do would like to play the newest games if so far possible.
The thing where I get halted is getting the device into BootLoader-mode. I use the trick again and again. But only the screen darkens and I get into recording mode. I can make this out, soft resetting only, well, soft-resets.

Hello guys,
I am facing a strange behaviour of my ipaq when shutting it down.
My device is a german one, updated to the latest FW and flashed with several english ROM versions (among others pdaclan and keyx).
The shutdown window now reads a german and a cyrillic message, one below the other.
Any hint to get rid at least of the cyrillic message part.
An english message would also be fine

Won't contact HP for an unsupported OS
My question: What part of the flash is responsible for the shutdown message?
The bootloader?
I would reflash that to get rid of this message/language mix.
