New XDA owner - Automatic REDIAL?? - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

hi ,
i'm new to the XDA EXec
Is there an automatic redial facility, eg if a number is engaged other phones i've had would then go into automatic redial mode..
If so how do I activate it?

Hi sharmabr
If you go to this site you well find a forum dedicated to a redial software that is in the latest stages of beta testing, you can download it from they.

Recommended VoIP / SIP software?

Hi all, do you have any recommendations for good SIP software that runs perfectly on Windows Mobile 5.0 devices, such as the HTC Wizard/O2 Xda Mini S?
I have tried SJPhone, but it doesn't allow you to answer incoming calls, presumably due to a difference in the way WM5.0 handles notification pop-ups (the only option I get is 'Hide'!).
Also, it needs to allow a different inbound and outbound proxy service. I can't find a way to do this with SJPhone.
Skype and SJPhone. SJPhone can support many SIP services, like Ekiga, Stanaphone, Gizmo and others. Requires some configuration.
Thanks but did you read all of my message?
The fact that it doesn't allow you to immediately answer is because SJPhone, like Skype, doesn't support the hardware buttons.
As for the proxies, YES, you can change those in SJPhone. Create a new profile and then edit that profile.
Thanks.
1. You say it doesn't allow "immediate answer", but I can't get it to answer at all, let alone immediately. Even if I switch to the app itself and press the phone icon (like when making a call), it just makes a new call and ignores the ring!
2. What is the name of the setting I change for the incoming proxy? I can't really see a different setting anywhere for that.
Info on my article here: http://www.osnews.com/story.php?news_id=12048
Make sure you download the latest beta SJPhone, not the currently stable version, because the beta has a lot of bugs fixed.
As for not answering a call at all, either the HTC Wizard is too slow to do VoIP, or the app is too buggy. File a bug report with them.

Several questions regarding MDA Vario usage

Hello to the forum members!
Since I am a new Vario user there are some questions that you might be able to answer:
1) Is it possible for Alarm funcionality to wake up device from power off state? So alarm works very well when Vario is in standby mode but I would like my Vario to wake me up in morning and I turn it off over night.
2) How can i UPDATE existing phonebook record with entry from Call History? So lets say I already have Peters contact record that includes his mobile number and now he calls me from his landline. There is new entry in Call History that shows his landline number however only available option is "Save contact as" which means that new record will be created. I dont want to create new record but to update existing Peters record with new info (his landline number). Is this possible?
3) How to send sms to a group of users (for example all users in one category). Picking sers one by one doesnt sound too good to me.
4) Is there a more advanced manual than plain users manual that is shipped with the device? Becouse many of more advanced topics such as establishing VPN connections are not covered...

How to receive incoming call notification

1st of all - hello!
This is my first post in this Forum and I feel very uncomfortable at this point because I got a question, which has been hit many times before. Further it won't be the exact right place here to ask, because I dont own a XDA but a Motorola MPx200 with Windows Mobile 2003 Smartphone Edition. Nevertheless, I guess you can help me because developement in .NET is quite the same - and most of the features will work there too.
But getting startet...
I'm trying to write a program, which will indicate on my desktop computer if there is a incoming call on my mobile. Further it has to show me the incoming callers ID, maybe from the buildin phonebook of the mobile. For that Programm i have to write a little "listener" for my mobile, which calls a function (which talks to my desktop) when a incoming call is received.
Unfortunatly I can't write C++, but I think there must also be a solution in C# .NET over a API call. But I don't know, which method in which DLL I should call to receive the information if there is an incoming call or not.
Can anybody please help figuring out how to do this.
What I know now is, that it has to do with RIL and TAPI, but I must read myself in RIL to understand that.
Your my last chance - i googled the whole day, even read about 20 pages on google groups but there wasn't the "All-i-need-to-be-happy"-solution at all. I also have searched the wiki in here...
Sorry if you don't understand some parts of this text - i come from germany, so english isn't my native language.
Thanks so long.
Marcus
Hi
for WM2003 it is kind of hard and involves a lot of study concernaing TAPI.
with WM5 it should be quite easy using .net compact framework 2.0 as there is a new namespace Microsoft.WindowsMobile.Status and a System Property called: SystemProperty.PhoneIncomingCall yet I have not tried that route.
One more Option which I didn't try - but could be a chance for you without learning TAPI is to register a small console.exe within the notifcation queue to run on the appropriate system event! (memmaid is a good explorer for the notiication queue)
This option will most likely just tell you that there is a call - and now details - I have no time to research this right now.

Need sw for filtering call

hi guys,
i need a sw like Magicall, which can filter I/Obound call and sms, not showing "secret" calls/sms for the blacklist in the call history but in a private log, not ringing or notifying when someone on the blacklist is calling, and not backlighting of the display.
On symbian there is GINA or Blackballer. I tried Blackballer for WM on my VARIO II but not work.
Hope you'll find an answer...
Doesn't MagiCall run on your device? I think it is the best sw of this category for WM devices. You can get it from: www.mobiion.com/magicall.html
If you want a warez, you will get no answer. It is not allowed here.
there is "call firewall" freeware for phone calls
Everybody who has tried those free firewall programs knows they are not good enough that is the reason why they are free.
Just an advice, make your own decision.

Inesoft Phone 4

Hello!
I have problem, that after some time dialer from Phone 4 stop working properly. If i try to find contact with ''smart function'' it doesn't work. If i select standard keyboard then works. The same thing is in Phone 4 address book.
When I installed this software everything works.
Thanks.
I got the excact same problem. After a few days it stopped searching by name and it searches only by phone. Even when i uncheck the option "search by phone" it doesn't work. If you dont have the ability to search by name then it is useless
Same problem with me after installed version 4.3
to solve this problem just install v4.2 ...
my problem is phone 4 prevents my phone from ringing - I have sent numerous requests to inesoft support but no answer to a single request over 2 months - INESOFT IS USELESS - I don't know why they offer the appearance of support - BEWARE if you buy Inesoft products
