Navman 4410 Bluetooth GPS - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

Hi there
I've had a check through the forum but i can't find a solution (if there is one) to my problem.
I've got a navman 4410 bluetooth gps and i'm struggling to get it to work with my MDA compact (i-mate jam).
I've loaded the BT com ports patch i discovered but that doesn't seem to be working and now i've got a feeling i've just gone and bought an expensive (and not very effective) paper weight!
Any advice guys?
Cheers
Niall

Navman 4410 GPS with Xda II

Anyone using this combination and if so, how are they finding it works in practice, especilally in terms of it conflicting with the use of the phone?
What actually happens when using GPS in car and the phone is answered using Bluetooth Headset - are there any conflicts using the two Bluetooth equipment simultaneously?
Is the GPS signal still retained? Do you manually have to close the phone screen after your call is finished and/or does it then revert to the SmartST screen.
What is the best windshield suction mount to purchase?
Any other issues I should know before I purchase the Navman 4410 Bluetooth GPS? I gather that it is now compatibale with the Xda II using the following third party tools:
http://bluetooth.i-networx.de/BTHTools1012.zip
http://www.angeltowns.com/town/bluetooth/EnableCharPin.zip
If you search this forum under navman 4410, you will find a lot o good reponses.
I have the navman 4410, and its perfect, NO PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER.
You have to load the patches of course.
After the call you have to go to the smartstscreen
I got the navman this week, and i'm unable to make it work with my i-mate.
the EnableCharPin does'nt seem to work for me.
maybe the file on the server was changed (maybe someone can post here a working file), or maybe it's my i-mate fault, but i just can't to bond the two devices.
Did someone test it AFTER installing the "Bluetooth fix" file?
(the bt fix is from club imate, the link is http://www.cddnet.com/Support/Bluetooth.cab )

Bluetooth with XDAII i

Hi, I've planned to by the new XDAII i (in Belgium the Qtek 2020).
Does anybody can tell me if it is OK with a bluetooth car Kit? With the XDAII normal, I have a lot a Bleutooth problems that I hadn't with the Mini.
Thanks for your answers.
I've had no issues with the BT on XDA2i, other than my old headset wouldn't work with it - something i've now discovered was probably more to do with the headset than the phone.
All other aspects of BT work a dream.
Cheers
Ant
PS - XDA2i uses a Widcomm (now Broadcom) BT stack, not the MS one as used on the 2.
Still can't get my XDaIIi to send files via BT to my laptop! I tried it with my old XDA 2 and it works a treat........
Someone please help, i don't know how many times i've posted this topic

TOMTOM3 & XDA2i

Hi,
Has anyone managed to get this to work on the XDA2i or am I climbing up the wrong tree?
anyone??
I installed it with a fortuna bluetooth gps and it works!
Anyway i had some problems with Plantronics headphone, i
made some tests and i suspected that Tomtom driver interact
with Plantronics, so i unistalled it!
Also i think that 2020i doesn't support 2 wire serial comunication, so
if you have a serial gps should not works! :?
Ciao
There should be no problems - I've been using it since the XDA2i was released, you need to ensure that you apply all of the updates etc. Let me know if you have any specific problems.
I can vouch that it works... Although you may need to reinstall bt-stack as tomtom overwrites it with old dll's...
Thanks everyone. I will try it.

Tomtom with O2 Exec or Tomtom one

Hi,
I know some of you would be annoyed with me posting a topic which has been discussed on this forum but after searching a lot on this forum i could not decide whether to buy a bluetooth GPS reciever or Tomtom one?
I have tomtom software 5.21 with the maps and dont mind struggling a bit initially ( for the 1st time i mean ) to get the bluetooth GPS running with Exec but just want to ask all of those who are using their Exec with tomtom few questions.
How easy is it to use Exec with tomtom in day to day life?
Has anybody used both and what do they prefer and why?
Which GPS is the best cos i have seen few with 32 channel etc etc?
Thanx in advance!!
Jatt
I've been using TomTom on my Exec since about November last year, and to be honest, I wouldn't even consider getting a full TomTom device.
I've got a BT-77 GPS (about £45 off eBay), wired permanently on in my car (I've also got a second if I need to use it elsewhere), and had NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER getting it to work - in fact, I'm bemused at why the whole Bluetooth/GPS issue is such a big one. I simply paired the two, and set up a port - no messing about unhiding the GPS applet etc. Easy.
I've got a Brodit mount in the car - very good. I've also got a Parrot hands-free, so the Exec does everything in the car - phone and sat nav (with Traffic).
Downsides? Well, sometimes the Exec can take an age to start TomTom, but other than that, I'm struggling to think of any.
Cheers,
Steve.
Same rig as above poster (SPV m5000,Tt 5.21 & BT77 GPS receiver) but did have a little trauma with the Tomtom port problem at first  found the solution here though and now it's all good! Tomtom does suck the life out of that minuscule battery though, so a powered mount or a decent car charger are a must. As for the amount of receiver channels - the more the better (for tracking ability - look for ones with the SIRF III chip-set) i believe. Hope this helps
Thanks Oink1 and StevePritchard
I have ordered HOLOX Bluetooth GPS Reciever 32 Channel 4 TomTom from Ebay and it has SIRF III chip-set aswell.
Will let you know how it is for me
Bye
I have been using my Exec with TTN 5.21 for approaching a year now and use it with a SysOn 20 Channel SiRF Star Bluetooth GPS, brilliant piece of kit.
I wouldn't worry about the high end of GPS channel tracking as 12 - 20 suffices. The only problem that I've experienced was keeping the pairing but otherwise it works exceptionally.
Hi all,
Which software version of tomtom supports full postal code directions?
Thanks for all ur input
Bye

imate jamin / Prophet - Holux GPSlim 236-Connection Problems

Hi all, Thanks for reading. I have been using my Jam for years until it flew out of my pocket into an on coming car! I bought the upgrade. Fantastic peice of kit by far exceeds the jam by such along way. BUT having problems with the TomTom and GPSlim 236. I am not able to connect them! I never had a problem before, anyone else had similar problems?
Please Help?
Mine works fine with my jamin.
The only time I had a problem was when I connected the slim to the PC and switched to SIRF mode, I forgot to switch back to NMEA and that caused problems.
Try linking it to your PC and using the SIRF tool factory reset it.
Hi,
it works for me too.
I paired it with my JAMin, and in Bluetooth settings now I have HOLUX GPSlim236 in "Devices" tab, and "HOLUX GPSlim236 (COM6)" in "COM Ports tab.
Check if you added the outcoming port, and then use GPSviewer on the same port, 38400 baud.
Bye
TomTom and BT GPS
Try removing the pairing and then re-creating the pairing, but this time ensure the name of the device ends in "GPS"....

Hi there.
I have a different GPS to you, a BT74R, but I had the same problem.
I followed exactly the instructions supplied with my unit, the instructions downloaded from TomTom and instructions from other forums but I could never connect.
Then I stumbled on this http://www.bbits.co.uk/blog/archive/2006/02/28/7210.aspx
I followed the instructions and my GPS has been working perfectly ever since, as we have the same phone I guess it will for you to.
Try it and let us know if it works.
