I need a macro tool that does more than one task at a time.
For example, I want to use my device as a flashlight...first thing is the device will run VJLumos to brighten the screen beyond the current full setting. Then it should run the Flashlight tool.
Can someone recommend me a software that does that.

MortRunner, which is now known as MortScript or MortScripts. Google for it, it is great and free.

Hi! I was wondering if anyone can tell me if there is a way to assign a hardware button for the camera flashlight or even a screen icon. I read somewhere that somebody was working on a program for it. Thank you for your time.
Look for a proggy called pflash. It'll turn your screen white and temporarily disable the backlishgt timer. assign that to a hardware button and you're done.
Thanks Nate, I was hoping there was a program that would use the camera's led flash as a torch. I found veejay's program, unfortunately it didn't work for my mda. I'll give pflash a try though.
No prob, I think it was a free proggy by David Anders (easy enough to find via google). He's also got an AWESOME RSS reader too.
I've got my MS Voice Command on my 8125 and added a shortcut to Pflash to the \windows\programs directory and renamed it flashlight and VC hs no trouble understanding it and calling it too!
Flashlight with Mortscript
Maybe you can try with this.
Unzip both attached files.
Install Mortscript app and copy flash.mscr file to PPC.
Run flash.mscr file.
It works on my Atom Exec/WM5. The .mscr file sorta run the test Flash command from the Atom Exec's Self Diagnostics apps.

Plamp
Found plamp here

WM5 compatible - HTC Phones only
This program is used to permit control of the flash light on various HTC Phones, to allow it to be used as a torch etc.
Note: this app may will cause permanent damage to your flash led over prolonged periods.
The app will disable itself after prolonged use, but still, use it at your own risk.
I cannot confirm what hardware it will work on, other then the Universal phone.
look here: http://www.vijay555.com/?Releases:VJCandela
Juncker - my app is not compatible with wizard. I don't have a wizard to test on so never wrote support for it.

That worked really well.
What abt the light dmg topic... use long time = killing the light?
Anybody have any luck running that mscr on the 8125? I couldn't get it to work
I haven't found any other way to control the flash w/o starting up the camera...

can i make this work on ATOM?
Do something work for the wizard now?
At this point, still no. But I for one would be willing to put my wizard on the line to test a version of vijay555's program for the wizard.
Hi. I frequently turn off my phone using the Comm Manager while leaving the PDA on during the evening. In the morning, I frequently forget to turn the phone back on and I was wondering if there was a program that can turn on (and perhaps turn off) the phone using the Comm Manager at a set time. Thanks.
Phone: 8125 on WM5 with original ROM
I'm looking for something like SleepWell.
http://www.connectivetools.com/sleepwell.html
The problem is that this program works only for smartphones. I tried it on my 8125 and it doesn't work. Moreover, the program deposited 300Kb of data which I can't seem to get rid of even after uninstalling it. But I'm still looking for such a program. Thanks.
Try Mortscript (Freeware). you can write a simple script that will set a notification event (or whatever it's called). I use it to run weather watcher automatically every morning. there are several forum strings, here and on others that have examples of different scripts that you can modify for your own needs. just do a google search for Mortscript, and Mortscript examples. It also has documentation included. Learning to use Mortscript will give you more control over your device than you ever though was possible.
I didn't think of MortScript, but even if I had, I don't have the technical know how to create do what I wish with a nice GUI.
Hey, was searching round for AntiVirus software (came to the decision it was pointless) and came across this:

safe mode is an extra application of ilauncher i use ilauncher allways in my pda's and is one of most usefull app for me !
http://www.sbsh.net/products/ilauncher/
""Control your Pocket PC using the all new iLauncher, packing together the most important set of utilities to better manage your Pocket PC!
iLauncher is an all-in-one application that brings the most powerful utilities that are missing from the Pocket PC operating system to your Pocket PC device in one package. These include: A tab-based launcher Today screen plugin with various information widgets such as battery and memory meters, speed dial shortcuts, screen capture utility and more; A task manager context menu that allows you to track and control the current active applications; A true 'X' button functionality that really shuts-down running applications as opposed to simply minimizing them; A safe-mode protection utility that makes sure your device will always initialize correctly and much more! ""
Pocket Plus has a safe mode too. But that program is so memory-heavy I haven't even loaded it on my latest run since there are now so many lighter alternatives for pretty much every other feature I use BUT safe mode. I miss it. Has anyone tried this yet? I don't wanna be the first guinea pig right now, I just did a ton of customizations. I'm not ready to start over yet if something goes horribly awry. It worries me a little that it hasn't been updated in 6 months and it's still an alpha, but if no one else tries it I will next week when I'm ready to try a new rom. =)

Hmmm. Previous version (for WM2003) was free. http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-safemode-for-pocketpc-1-02.html
even if the topic was misleading he was talking about the old firewall app for pocketpc
personaly i would worry as much about firewalls as virus scanners
not speeds best friend and so far as far as i know no an issue to worry too much about
exploids and virus have to be spc made for a platform and the focus of these people
are not on pda users yet
maybe mostly because it's not that easy to spead the virus
and hackers only really can except to get appointmens and contacts
the odd task
can anybody recommend a makro app for competing a sequence of button clicks???
thanks
I feel quite justified in saying this: HUH?
Could you eleborate a bit more? I suppose with "makro" you mean "big"? And "competing a sequence of button clicks" is referring to some kind of memory game?
I think he means "macro".
Don't know of anything off hand, but there is mortscript you might be able to use (http://www.sto-helit.de/index.php?module=page&entry=ms_overview&action=view) which does something similar but don't think it has any gui interface for it.

yes i did mean macro.
A macro on a pc completes a series of button clicks with just a single press. Normally it gives you up to 20secs to complete your progress.
Basically what im trying to achieve for example is by clicking on an activesync icon on my today screen. Instead of opening activesync it would automatucally open activesync and select 'connect to bluetooth' and any other options necessary.
thanks for taking time to answer. will look into mortscripts but looks a little tricky.
did you find any way to record?

Not yet not sure if mortscript can do it as its all DOS coding basically. Relys on activating .exe or .bat files etc.. so in app commands probably unachievable.
Ill keep looking into it though....
You could combine mortscript with a key capture program (if you can find one for ppc).

I have to say Mortscript is great and can achieve most things but isnt very easy, plenty of research needed.
I have however achieved my goal, one click on an icon from today screen and my device will bluetooth sync to pc
Code is below if anyone interested
Run("\Windows\Start Menu\programs\ActiveSync.lnk")
Sleep (800)
SendRightSoft()
SendUp()
SendCR()
Sleep(7500)
Minimize "ActivSync"
I use my HTC Touch for GPS in the car, as well as being my media player, and also (obviously) as a phone.
This usage finds me frequently rotating the screen to the right, and turning on BT when I get in the car. Then when I get out, I have to undo those changes. It's a number of clicks to do this each time, and becoming something of a hassle.
I'm thinking of writing an application to automate the process. I wanted to get some feedback before I start.
1. Is anyone else interested in a project like this? (Note that this is just the beginning, additional functionality could be added, feel free to brainstorm!)
2. Is anyone who is interested in this project willing to beta-test this software?
Thanks for your input!
Shidell
I have a TILT with the 85 degree hardware mod
use it in the car all the time. trouble is that I drive different cars, and do not have a mount. so I usuall have to have it sideways all the time, because of the charger, and rarely able to flip the keboard.
I have an HV switch in Quick menu, but it usually turns the screen the wrong way. also manila keeps making the screen go back to portrait.
I would like to have a quick hardware button to switch, but again, manila gets in the way. do you think you can eliminte that problem?
in other words, yes I am interested if that issue can be solved.
hi, i´m interested too man, but i have a touc cruise, so also i can be a betatester,
and i´m a programmer too. so.---
Totally want this!
You might want to check out G-Profile first, it will do this and more. Profiles can be set based on time, cell id, running programs, or even equipment, such as being connected to power and headset at the same time. You could have G-Profile launch the app you want, set the volume, ringers, screen orientation and brightness, and turn on/off BT and WiFi when connected, then automatically switch it all back when you disconnect. Best part of all though, when profiles are activated, instead of linking to a single app to be executed, you can have it run a mortscript, upon which the possilities are pretty much limitless. You could get in your car, plug in your phone and have the script ask you if you want to listen to music, or navigate, or both. I use this setup with a script that asks me if I want C-apiSRO or Coreplayer when I get in my car when I connect my BT headset.
Oh I kinda forgot the important part, here is the link.
http://www.ageye.de/index.php?s=gprofile/about
Its from the same dev that made G-alarm, which should give you an idea of how nice this app is. Oh and best part is that its free.
I'd love to see a simple application that will do this. I would personally like to see an icon that will rotate the screen 180 and 270 with a simple tap. Bluetooth part would be nice as well (personally wouldn't use it much because i have my bluetooth connected to my headphones or car bt).
+1 on G-Profile. It'll allow you to create profiles that control radios, orientation, and launch programs. Of course, you could also just make use Gyration or some other similar rotation program to allow you screen to rotate via the G-sensor.
Hi Guys - I've got a Mortscript script somewhere that does this, although in my case, it was to flip the display on my Athena 180 degree's, as it was suspended upside down on the car holder I've got. I ran it from the HTC Manila 2d programmes tab.
I'll try and dig it out, but really, it wasn't complexlicated - worth a look certainly.
(Hey Diablo, I played with Ageye's implementation, and found it to be similar to what I'm working on, with more options. This is a fun project though, so I'm going to stick with it if there's interest.)
This is simply a proof of concept to prove it works functionally.
Please note that there is no installer (.cab) package right now, nor any icon, and no application settings. When you launch the application, it will determine your screen's current orientation and flip it, and it will also determine your BT's current setting and flip it. That's all this will do in it's current state.
What I need from you:
What model phone do you have?
Did the functionality work as I described? Any problems?
How would you change/improve this application?
I am considering adding a first-run type setup to determine how you want to run the flip--IE just turn on BT (as a shortcut), etc. Ideas?
Note: As it stands right now, V15 of NFSFAN's ROM using M2D will not "flip" orientation. Titanium is fine, but M2D doesn't like the "flip" and the screen will revert to standard orientation, even though the application runs as normal and will enable/disable BT.
Simply unzip this package and place it on your phone's memory--local, SD card, it doesn't matter. Make sure you include the .exe and the .dll. Then you can run the application by clicking it. Note that you can click and hold on the app. to send a shortcut to "Programs", to make it convenient to launch.

Thanks!
Idk if you have found a solution for this yet but all this could be done quite easilly with mortsript. Then all you would have to do is run this when u get in and then run when u get out and it would do everything for you.
