Whenever I run the exe to upgrade to 2003se the upgrade starts but soon reboots my qtekl1010 with no changes done, what can I do
I don't know whitch OS do you have on your Wallaby but the first thing that I would do is downgrading my OS to A.30.09 ENG in original stance and then I would try to install WM2003SE.
Gosh, I'm new here and I've forgotten that I can check your OS in your profile.
So when I know which OS do you have, I've got one question.
Have you ever tried to change OS to something different than WM2003SE via Active Sync? And if yes: was it successful?

I've upgraded a couple of US T-Mobile phones to the latest AT&T radio stack and v1.1 of your special edition ROM. Both work really well - however on one of the phones I no longer seem to have access to Boot Loader mode by holding the power button on reboot.
It's not a problem right now, but I imagine it could be if I needed to upgrade at some time in future.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I might recover this functionality. Booting with a SD card holding a ROM image doesn't do the trick.
Thanks,
Malcolm
Strange.... Very strange....
Used the 1.1 ROM from Jeff's .exe ?
Yes it's Jeff's 1.1 image in both cases.
The only thing I can think of which might cause this is the fact that the phone with the problem has the 128MB upgrade installed by PocketPC Techs.
At the bottom of your page describing the boot loader it says "When some tests fail it will load the entrypoint of CE into the PC register (and jumps there...)"
I wonder whether it's failing on a memory check then jumping directly to CE....
Any suggestions would be very welcome. Do you think I might be able to update the boot loader via ActiveSync? I'm a little apprehensive as I don't want to lock myself out altogether.
Malcolm
The phone also does not recognise the additional 64MB of RAM through the T2TDisk driver. I had assumed that this was a problem with the driver software but now I see elsewhere on this forum that for others with similarly upgraded phones the driver works correctly.
I don't think it's a hardware problem as prior to the installation of the AT&T radio stack and the SER 1.1 ROM everything worked correctly.
Malcolm
I've experimented a little and I can certainly upgrade the Radio Stack and CE ROM using ActiveSync. Does anyone know of a mechanism by which I can re-flash the boot loader using ActiveSync? I imagine it's possible.

This is the strange thing we've noticed:
The NBF files needed by "Programme A" contain a bootloader. In fact, when we did our first experments with adaptROM we forgot to put in a bootloader once, and that toasted a unit.
But now if we put in a bootloader, it doesn't seem to overwrite the bootloader in the device, which seems to contradict the fact that we toasted a unit by overwriting it with a CE.
More experimentation is needed, but preferrably after we succeed in flashing with JTAG (which we're making good progress on, BTW)...
I was running ROM 3.20.06 and Radio 4.21.00.
I read everything on here about upgrading to ROM 4.00.05 and figured that I was ready to upgrade. Many others experienced no problems when upgrading from 3.20.06 to 4.00.05.
The upgrade procedure was complete and I hard reset.
The XDA turned on and a white screen with "Test Only", "Not For Sale", A Microsoft Windows Powered logo and the Platform information appears and that is all that happens. In other words, it is ****ed and won't do anything.
Does anyone know whether ROMs can be installed via, LTP1 seeing as though the USB will not communicate? Will I get the same problem?
A reply would be nice.
Forgot to mention...
I forgot to mention that I will be connecting my USB cradle to a USB-2-LTP1 cord. If that helps anyone reply then sweet.
Get yourself an sd card reader writer and an sd card of 64 meg or more. Use the tools on the forum to program the rom to sd card, then you enter bootloader mode and your phone will burn the rom from there. As for the lpt port, no way that I know of.
Bootloader mode?
Is it possible to change the XDA into bootloader mode if the XDA is not functional? (I cannot do anything, just a white screen is what I see)
Give it 15-20 minutes
I know that this sounds stupid, but don't mess with it for about 15-20 minutes. It seems that if the radio stack is screwed, the OS takes forever to boot. I have been doing OS installs for several months, both directly and via an SD card, so I was comfortable with the process. I had NOT ever done a radio stack upgrade as I had the latest (& only one) that AT&T had released. With the "official" rollout of WM2003 by AT&T, I decided that I liked my custom 2003 ROM that I had cooked a couple of months ago, but I did want to try the newer radio stack. Well, all hell broke loose. At first, I had a PPC that would not boot. So, I did a new flash of the OS via SD chip. It seemed that it too was locked (ie the initial splash screen with OS info at bottom and then it seemed to freeze). Then I read in another thread that someone had noticed it took about 15 minutes for the thing to reboot after a failed radio stack upgrade. And so after giving it time, sure enough, my PPC did finally boot.
The bad news is that I have NOT been able to get the radio stack reinstalled. I have followed all the tips and suggestions, but no luck. If you find that yours finally does boot, then goto start, settings, system info and see if there is info about the radio stack. If it is blank, then you have not radio stack and that is why the long boot cycle.
Radio stack
Ok, when I performed the upgrade, I believe it was only the ROM that upgraded. The radio version is the orignial XDA upgrade which was released to the public as a genuine radio (B) upgrade. I'll look into the SD boot load. Will it automatically install from the SD card? Anyone got any idea?
Newbie here...
Got a SX56 (used) and it was working fine. Saw that there was an upgrade to 2003 and like the moron I am, I jumped in with both feet. Now the device will only go to the initial screen where it shows the rom/radio versions.
I downloaded the tool, and tried to restore from SD but it still doesn't work.
My bootloader is v5.15 it seems.
At this point, I just want the thing to work again in 2002 or 2003. If someone has some ideas or a ROM image to go back, please let me know
dbrady
Maybe you´ve got the same problem than an other guy here in this forum. He have big problems to install WM2003 on his device.
Since you´re getting message of ROM AND Radio version it looks quite good.
I would suggest that you get a new ROM maybe from my kitchen (http://lumpistefan.dyndns.org and install it on your device using an SD-Card and the XDATools.....

Thanks. I tried earlier but I wasn't sure what one to choose. I have an English Version SX56 that was sold through AT&T. It shows Wallaby Bootloader 5.15 now. It shows the correct rom/radio info for Win2003 but won't boot.
What version should I try? I'd like to get 2003 if I can, but would be willing to go back to 2002 to get a function phone again.
Thanks for all the help
P.S. - I was using Mozilla and it never actually downloaded anything when I tried.
Dean
Downloaded a new ROM - thanks - but same problem. Now the unit shows new ROM version but still never goes any further than the boot screen.
Any other ideas?
Steps please...
How did you load your new rom? Please post the steps so that we can try and figure out what went wrong.
From my previous thread (Need help unlocking a HTC Wallaby (Rom 4.01.16)) you folks know that with help from the forum at large and Stefan in particular I have successfully unlocked my XDA.
My phone signal is rather weak.
1. Will upgrading to Radio Stack to Ver 6.25.02 help solve this issue ?
2. My current ROM is 3.17.03 ENG and current Radio is 6.24.00. If the answer to above point is yes. Then what steps are involved in upgrading the radio stack?? Do I have to change the ROM or can I just do it without changing the ROM??
Thanks in advance.
Don´t know if upgrading the radio stack will help getting a better signal.
You can try it. Update process can be done without flashing a new ROM....
Process iwould follow:
1. Remove SIM-Card
2. Hard Reset to get a clean device
3. Reconenct your device via active sync
4. Download Radio Stack e.g. ftp://xda:[email protected]/Wallaby/Radio_Stack/RSU_V6.25.02_PPC.zip
5. Extract the files to a folder on your device
6. run the exe file
7. Pray all is working fine ....
PS: There are too possibilities fro Upgrading:
1. Using the files that are designed for upgrading directly on the device, llike the above
2. Files that do this above activesync. If you got such a file skip step 5

If you update your Radio Stack, your device would end as a paper weight.
Radio Stack 6.xx are for PW10B phones with 900/1900MHz network connection and the 4.xx are for PW10A with 900/1800 MHz networks....
Generally radio stack could be upgraded without touching the ROM and the device would stay unlocked/locked as it was before.....
All several written here in the forum....

Prayed....Upgrade....to 6.25.02....works fine. Once again thanks!!!
freemee: Current status?
Just curious to see if upgrading your radio stack solved your problems with weak signals?
I have an HTC P3600 and I upgraded to WM6.1 succesfully. but I have been trying to upgrade to WM6.5 for over aweek now i have tried everything but its not working.
Each time i connect to a PC i run into problems connecting to activesync on my win XP desktop.
The same thing happens with my 2 Vista laptopsh and when i finaaly get it connected. Each time i try to install WM6.5 by running the RUU, it disconnects after it gets to the point where it says "update".
Can anyone help me solve this problem.
Thanks in advance.
Have you got Hard SPL installed? I say this because i went from cooked rom to original and it changed from olipro to official. Also i have been reading that a good way to flash is from memory card. There is a guide somewhere round here.
I have hard SPL installed. Were you able to successfully upgrade yours to WM6.5?
and is it possible to show me how you did it step by step if you can.
i had given up on getting a reply so i decided to stick with the WM6.1 i have, but if you can help me upgrade i would greatly appreciate it.
thanks a zillion
i upgraded mine by flashing the same way as i flashed any other 6.1 or 6.0 ROMs. Maybe you should try another 6.5 ROM and see if that work
Don't want to sound daft, but are you putting it into bootloader first? I did it that way rather than let the computer do it. Also i haven't flashed 6.5 as i am happy with 6.1 at the moment.
Also i have read that flashing with vista requires extra steps.
I Upgraded mine OK.
I couldn't get the flash update to work from Windows 7, but it worked fine when I reverted to running it from Vista. Ran the normal upgrade process from the PC, same as for previous 6.1 upgrades.
can you tell me which 6.5 rom you used, so i can try it probably i'm using the wrong one.
thanks
Just wildguessing, but maybe you could try altering 'enable advanced network functionality' in the 'USB to PC' setting.
BTW I use Chanvi latest 6.5 ROM and it works great. Now I'm waiting for his Utralite version, so I probably get the best ROM to be used with PointUI.
I think p3600 is to slow to wm 6.5
thanks everyone. But after countless unsuccessful tries, i finally deicded to give it up.
So i bought the Touch HD instead. Hopefully it will be easier to upgrade that to WinMo 6.5.
cheers!!!!!
