Startup question - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

After every softreset to my Qtek9000, I get the message bellow during startup.
"Photo Storage Card Inserted
Would you like to view the pictures on your storage card now?"
Any hint, how to get rid of this?

If you have a folder on your SD card called DCIM then move any contents of that folder to another folder within your SD card (or create another folder ie My Photos) and then delete the folder DCIM. This should solve it.

Great. You were right!
The message pops-up even if DCIM folder is empty.
Wonder how this folder appeared.

i was supposed 2 post this same question, good thing i searched 1st. tnx Conchas 4 d question & tnx ArgyleMoss 4 d answer.
if i may add, u can just rename ur DCIM folder into any other name & that msg at startup wont appear anymore.

Storage Card2....Why?

Is it me, or can this forum be a bit hard to search? (using "" or AND doesn't work??) I KNOW I've seen more than one topic on this but I cant find it for the life of me and I'm not getting refined results.
Just encountered that problem where the Wizard suddenly makes a new Storage Card folder and renames the original one "Storage Card2". The new folder has 2 folders to hold mail attachments and a folder for PIE History.
I can see and use all for the files on the Storage Card2 (all of my movies and music and what not) but the associated programs are now looking for them in the new Storage Card folder.
How can I revert this? I can't delete the new and rename the original with the device docked. Getting sharing violation errors..
Anyone have this problem?
Thanks in advance!
Ok so I fixed it....
I took out my SD card.
From File Explorer on the device, I was able to rename the "Storage Card" that was on the Device to "Old". If you now try to delete it, you'll still get a cannot delete Index error.
I did a soft reset and was then able to delete the "Old" folder. I got "system fil" warnings, but it allowed me to delete the whole folder.
I then inserted my SD card, which immediately showed up as "Storage Card", the way it's supposed to.
My programs are now looking for their files on "Storage Card" and finding them there.
If anyone knows why this happens, feel free to pitch in....
I found that this occurred with me if I did any hacks to put internet explorer temp files, Omega One's Journal Bar files or email attachments to the storage card. I expect is was one of the first two that does it on start up and it was rather upsetting at first until you firgure out what to do about it. I've since unapplied those hacks and it hasn't happened again.

How To Install Themes

I've read the Wiki and still can't find it. How do I install themes on my Wizard?
copy the .tsk files into your windows directory.
you mean .tsk?
Copy them to /my documents, and go to /start menu/settings/today, then choose your theme.
I kept getting a message about disc being write protected. Remove protection or use another disc. Any idea what that means? Also do I save them to the phone or to memory card?

Anybody got anything on this?
I said save it to \windows which obviously is on your phone not on the mem card. As for that "write protected" stuff i don't know what to think of it man.
open "my computer", double click on "my mobile device", navigate to windows, copy/paste your themes to windows directory and they will appear in the today theme menu. if you still don't undersatnd then i give up./
You can copy the theme files also to SD card either directly in the main SD card folder or in a folder which does not go deeper than 1 level (meaning: Storage card\Themes\ ) This keeps your precious internal memory free for other things!
I UNDERSTAND what you said and that is what I did. That message is what I got when I did that. I tried it on the phone and the card. Thanks anyway though. Themes are overrated anyway I'm not stopping till I brick this thing!!!!!!
If you copy them on to your SD card, don't put them in any file on there. Put them straight on to "\storage card". The question I have is are you getting the write protected error on your phone or on your computer and if you're getting that error on your computer end can you copy any other files over to your storage card? I was thinking that maybe you accidentally write protected your storage card.

[q] Storage Card has been renamed

I'm not sure how or why, but all of a sudden the pictures in the picture tab stopped showing up.
Checked file manager to see that the files were ok, and they opened fine. However I now have two folders:
"Storagecard" which just seems to contain a few files from gAlarm.
"Storagecard2" which is my actual storage card with all my pictures and videos and music.
It wouldnt be a huge problem if not for the fact that the photo tab only allows you to look for pics in "my device" and "storage card"
I've tried to rename the folders, but it wont let me change "storagecard2"
Please can anyone help?

delete the storage card folder and soft-reset and everything should be sorted. you may, however, have to reinstall gAlarm.
Oddly this happened to me two nights ago out of the blue. Solved it by booting without the memory card in, deleting the folder then rebooting with the memory card back in.
It happens because during USB-mode the SDCard cannot be found by Winmobile, and if a program during that phase needs to save something to SDCard the system will write a new Storage Card folder, and rename the original one to "....2". For that reason I do not use USB mode for PC connections.

Storage card always renamed Storage card 2

Hello everyone,
I'm using French Sunrise rom from Miammiam, posted also on this forum.
And since the last version 2.1 my storage card is always renamed storage card 2 after a soft reset.
I never had this problem with my previous rom Sunrise 1.4, didn't have this problem, but I already encounter this issue on some other rom like Leo rom's, and miri's.
I already tried everything I found on this forum or using google.
As informations I didn't change IE cache path, I'm just storing my emails on the storage card.
I hope some one can help me.
Best regards,

Nonolk.
I think that you have a hiden folder called "Storage card" on the root of your device.
rename this folder o delete it then every thing will be right.
Hello,
Thank's for your answer but Event if I delete the newly created folder then soft reset the phone, it change nothing my storage card is again named "Storage card 2".
There is no hidden folder, on the root of my phone I checked it with total commander.
On the other hand after deleting the newly created foler called "storage card" then ejecting my sd card and inserting back the card is again called " Sorage card" but after a soft reset it's again called "storage card 2".
In anyway thank you for your reply.

Try using Resco File Explorer and define there that you want to see hidden (system) files. You may locate an original directory with that name.
I had this problem twice. I my case this problem was probably due to starting up TomTom when connected by USB with my computer.
hey if it aint broke dont fix it...

How to delete items from "~Recycled" folder on my storage card?

Hello everyone,
I ve just discovered I ve got about 500mb in the folder "~Recycled" on my storage card. I opened this folder and deleted the files but they appeared again!!! What's that? How to remove the files forever?
Thanks for help

Why don't I have a "recycled" folder

Usually it is Windows on your PC that puts it onto any removable storage unless you have explicitly told it not to i.e in Recycle Bin Properties. Once the folder is on your storage card you won't see it unless you are viewing with options for 'Hide Hidden Folders' and 'Operating system' files are selected to view both.
Another reason could be if you are using Resco File Explorer, as that app has it's own Recycle Bin which deleted files are moved to unless you have selected for it not to.
Hope that helps
I think its related to Resco File explorer
